Really like the look of these... appreciate you pulling T-S specs! One comment on the your statement on the BL... BL by itself doesn't mean much without factoring in Re. (BL^2/Re)... which puts it around ~98 which is pretty plain-jane compared to other offerings.
I love my XFL 1022s, got 2 of them on a 5k in a 3.7cu ft box tuned to 31hz ….. buddy, I’ve been pulled over 3x for how loud it is. Last cop was 3 lanes over, and a couple of cars back when he heard me, and his exact words were …“ You were shaking shit in my car “….. 😂

@@MattSnider-b5z no. The ribs and the push terminals tell you it’s the newest version. V1 doesn’t have ribbing on the surrounding and version 2 has the single line ribs with wires connected instead of the push terminals. Which is what I have.
I can't because I change my subs weekly for reviews lol Plus my truck is not gutted out so even my 2 Resilient Sound Gold 15's on my Taramps Smart 5 Bass is ridiculous and just about rattles everything in my truck apart. I've been using 2 XFL 12s at 1st w/ one kicker 46cxa1200.1 @2 ohms then with each 12 on its own kicker 1200.1 @1 ohm. Have mine in a 5" cubes box with 4" dual aero ports tuned to 30hz. I've had them 4 mo so I guess I have the "older model." They look identical as these in video but mine are 1k RMS and the 2ohm XFL's. Pretty sure tuning will be an ongoing thing forever but sure was a HUGE difference w/just wiring these in to factory Bose head unit with an adapter vs adding a kicker LOC and a marts DSP! Once I added those it sounded much better. Ai has helped w/tuning. I set my gains w/zt703s oscilloscope. But Chat Gpt4 gave me a kinda starting place to get tuned right. Still a WIP but I've had many subs and these are my favs. Bought mine direct from AB for $238 something like that. But even with 1200 on the 2 12s@ 2 ohms they sounded great. 1 ohm imo is their sweet spot. You can feel the pressure depending on how air tight your vehicle is. lol. Great substitute for coffee in early morning hours when headed to work. Now I have plans for adding two more. You know how that goes. 🤣 Great subs!! "They" say SDs sound better but I honestly can't tell a difference. Maybe I'm getting hard of hearing. Long live the XFL's! If you get some be sure & at least give em 2.5" each, maybe even a hair more and tune your DSP to match your port tuning and rebass your music to your tuning frequency. Night & day difference doing that!
Weighs about same as Sundown SA series which is geared more towards music than lows. Was wondering how this compares to the resilient sounds gold series since both are 1500 rms. Wonder which one can take the most abuse? You know a ton of people are gonna be putting 2500 rms on it and not 800. Have you done a sound qubed HDX3?
I love My Sundown SA but this sub sounds totally different. This sub does hit the lows better than the SA and has a smoother sound. This new XFL sounds more similar to a Sundown X Or RS Gold V2. Smooth, deep bass and lots of excursion and the XFL has a little more punch than the Sundown X than on rock music.
I'm curious how these stack up against the AP 5 stack 12s. Those have a BL of 40 and a 310 oz magnet. Also around that price point. I almost bought the old XFLs last month but ended up going with the APs.

how csn you gauge a SQ sub that has 2.5" of excursion ? I e alwways thought of an SQ sub as having 3/4" or less of x-max. Especially since most of these brands don't offer plots.
Less Xmax doesn’t mean better SQ. I can see why people think that. ( less distance traveled mean less time to react) but if the sub is designed well you can have great accuracy and a good amount of excursion.
