    Great video. I usually find an existing poi and attach a ramp/pole section to it. This greatly reduces the materials cost allowing you to get more questing done in those first 7 days. I also turn the poles horizontal to avoid the whole floating block thing, but that’s just a matter of choice.

    It's a solid base and even has the mandatory machicolations for killing the odd outlier who gets stuck in rage mode.
    But all you do by having the pit is delaying reage mode until they come back in range. You need to make them spend some time to get into range so the timer runs out and they forget about their rage. But that's just not feasible for a starter base.
    The pit is a good choice for an explosives base though. There you want to make sure that the zombies can't escape and your primary way of killing is throwing explosives and mollies into the pit. Not sure whether that is still fun in A22/1.0 with the new trickle spawn mechanic though...
    Btw, it's always good to have more than one (switchable) zombie path and plan the base for that from the start. The second path after the melee station should be a loop, so you can repair in peace if needed.

    There are a couple of spots I've found where you can hang out safely on Horde nights, kill zombies with no risk up to and including day 21. That gives me ample time to outfit a proper base that will suffice well into triple digit days.

    Already far to big/elaborate for the very first horde night...
    Just build a ramp up like 13 blocks or so, then have a little path with maybe some dropper blocks in it and then your little "bunker" area (which just needs to be a small box) and you're done with it.
    Far simpler than what you created there, especially far simpler than digging a far to big pit.
    Your pit also has the problem that it can't deal with dogs. They will start destroying the ground.

      @@adamsmall5598This is a far cry from the biggest base you can build in the first seven days. You could probably 3-4x this size while still only mining during the nights of the first seven days, even more if you get lucky with a pickaxe drop

    • @SurvivingThePlot
      @SurvivingThePlot 5 дней назад

      @adamsmall5598 I'm basically done trying to do RUclips, so this isn't an advertisement attempt, but I have a hardcore series in which I play with 100% vanilla settings and build a base with more thiccness than this video by doing only night time mining. If you actually want the video proof, go my sixth video to see the chonk of base I'm talking about as it's built, triple/quadruple layered walls and all.
      If you mine during daytime, you could go way further than what I did by a much larger margin, as there's more daytime hours to work with. Even more optimal if you're mining by digging out the pit you need for the base, two birds one stone or whatever.

    • @djbigq1
      @djbigq1 Месяц назад

      @TheAntfats I would say adding electric fence traps along with a few blade traps at bottom then put dart traps for as soon as they come out the pit they trigger the darts. Then at the top setup some smg turrets on each side. I would do this while reinforcing the pit with steel blocks but use concrete first then upgrade to steel and so forth. After that add some shotgun turrets at top of building and point to sky for birds or whatever you have flying in your game. That's how you fortify my friend, also don't forget to fortify those beams the zombies run across that way they are more secure.
