    Goodday Brendan,
    Great to see some DL action even though it wasn't leading.
    Those double classic bulldogs out of Charlton awesome my favorite.

    Have to admit, most of these Australian diesel locomotives look pretty nice! And, they even sound like they have an American train horn.

    Great footage of various trains from a variety of locations, it's obvious you select your locations well, great scenery and backdrops. Do the "Country Splits" NOHAB "MZ" class run into Victoria? Never see them in southern clips. well done, very professional!

      @@Schony747 You're not missing much, they are renown for mainline failures. Much in need of a total overhaul and rebuild, showing their age, then again they were near worn out when they arrived from Denmark.

    I'm wondering, like what truck drivers do when they stop, do train drivers have to kick their wheels when they too stop?

    • @Schony747
      @Schony747  9 месяцев назад

      I'm assuming on start up there would be the usual checks mate. You'd need pretty hard shoes to kick a train wheel.😀😀

      @@Schony747 I like to imagine they stop for a break and do the walk. They could also use the big jemmy bar like truckies do 😂😂

    • @mendocinobeano
      @mendocinobeano 8 месяцев назад

      They use to call train examiners "wheel tappers" so yes, they sort of kick the tyres but it's not the drivers it's the examiners that do a full exam before departure in Melbourne. They check wheels for flat spots, cracks, high flanges, spalling etc they look at all of the bogie components and do a full air test then issue the driver with a brake certificate.

    • @Schony747
      @Schony747  Год назад +1

      Some of the trains are getting longer but are now generally limited to 1500 metres on the East Coast and 1800 meters East to West due to the size of the crossing loops.
