Good stuff, for sure! Start to finish. Flawless in every respect! Wish I could say the same about my T/F .60 Corsair. Unfortunately, she had one and only one maiden. Thinking I may want to assemble another one after watching your P-40 build. Loads of great building tips and advice. Do it up right this time around! Hehehe...
I learned to put any nervous feelings aside and concentrate on the task at hand. I remember my early days when I use to feel sick to my stomach during a maiden and the fear of crashing and all that can go wrong kicked in and that's when it gets the best of me and so I crash. That was over 30 years ago. Today I enjoy the build process and just send it. Be confident in yourself and breathe, relax and all will be just fine.
Unless you turn it off like I do then your nerves will not get the best of you. Leaves more for concentration and keeping your mind alert during the most pressing moment the Maiden. Once you land safely and all is good is when all sinks in and all.
Planes gone by hanger on Facebook the owner Karl Michael Hansen has been working on cutting and kitting the Top Flite line. He has a few full kits avail at the moment so give him a message.
Hooah ArmyStrong, Brother! Awesome detail in your builds. That looked so real, especially right after takeoff as if I was watching the actual one. That approach and landing was spot-on too. At an Army school for another 4 weeks and realized I haven’t looked at anything other than doctrine since I got here 🤦🏼♂️ Thanks for the break! And thanks to @Frank’sModelAviationWorkshop 👍🏼 Funny Ending! 😆
Amazing! Maiden is always adrenaline pumping! Specially with Al the work and dedication you put in that beauty. Congratulations bro! Keep going for next projects! Following...
I really enjoyed this video Mike. Congratulations on a stellar maiden. I’m sure you are happy and relieved. Just an observation, I noticed that you don’t use any nuts on the threaded portion of your control rod to clevis connections. Using a nut usually stiffens up that hole assembly.
Well I am a gasser type of a guy and only have a few electric planes mostly those from eflite or Flite Test. But my balsa kits will always get a gas engine. Nitro fuel is hard to get here on Guam and also lipos so I have to stick to gas.
Great job, pretty relaxed maiden😎…I always shake when it comes to a maiden, even after so many years of flying 😂 This color scheme looks awesome and the weathering is just enough, not too extreme 🙌 cheers from Munich🍺
Much appreciated! Yeah I took it easy for the maiden only because it was really windy the whole week and the day of maiden flight the wind died down a few but still high for flying comfortably.
Absolutely love the work that you have put into this beautiful warbird.. I had one at one point in time, but, the ex ended up with it and a whole bunch of others. But, I have bought 4 Red Box kits from Top Flite. 2 P-51b’s, a Corsair and the P-47 Jug. I have most parts for them, but, I am in a pickle for the moment and can’t find the time to build them right now. When I do, I hope that they will come out looking like this P-40. Amazing job and maiden fight. One thing though. How did you make the canopy open and shut?? I would love to do that on mine.
I thought I had touched bases on the canopy in my videos but realized I did not. However I did cover it with photos and short video clips in my Facebook Group. Here is the Facebook "Bayona's RC World" group link. facebook.com/groups/1102320606822541/?ref=share Just type into the search bar in the group P-40E Warhawk Sliding Canopy.
I would set low rate Elv to 3/8. & 1/2 on high Alison's the same I flu Top flies Mustang a it was a hand full on the Madin. It was definitely a number 9 on the Pucker Scale.
I already have over 40 flights on this model to date. April 1st, 2023 is my P40's 1 year anniversary since this maiden video. I have not changed any control throws since initial set up prior to its 2022 maiden flight. Very predictable, easy flying model for sure.
Now that's a well built airplane! Flys straight as an arrow. Great job!
Thanks a bunch
This plane is a stunner and flies nicely too. And that landing was pro job considering the tight space.
Love your work.
Much appreciated
Well done mate. The little P40 can be a handful.
Actually this P40 flies just like a pattern plane. Not a hard plane to fly at all! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thank you for watching. Most definitely get back to building another Corsair. Sorry to hear about your maiden of your Corsair it happens.
I not only shake on maidens but I seem to stress watching anyone maiden, even on youtube!
Excellent build and maiden!

Damn nice job Boyona, really enjoyed the build and the P40. Thanks
Clyde
Thanks for watching really appreciate it.
I imagen, regardless of how many aircraft one has built, the maiden never gets less nerve racking. Well Done !

Words of wisdom from the pilot!

Beautiful! I've been looking for this kit because I've got a gorgeous K&B 61 work horse just begging for a home. So far no joy, These kits are rare.

Yes I normally use nuts if it was available, however I ended up crimping the clevis where it becomes a little tight fit without any wiggle room.
I was kinda hoping that it would have been electric but understand it's really heavy already .
