  • In this video we construct the Top Flite P-40E Warhawk 60 size fuselage. We build based off the Top Flite manual and plans and making minor changes to better the experience where needed. So sit back relax and enjoy the video especially if you love building or have the Top Flite P40E Warhawk kit waiting for that build day.

      Thank you not trying to make the videos this long but the nature of the build took over. Only after watching the video a few times I can see where I could have cut down some time. But oh well! The main Pont of my videos is to showcase the build and provide insight on it throughout my build journey.

    Great video! When do you think you'll have part 4 completed and will that include the covering? I also have a P-40 so I'm interested in seeing how to work around all the curves and create the camouflage color scheme. Thank you.

      Still filming content for Part 4. Unfortunately still the frame up. Detailing and painting after glassing, primer, panel lines and rivets.

    Try using thin copper wire, it will solder more easily.

      Thank you. Frank's Model Aviation Workshop and I came up with the plan of using the Z bend method instead of the ball link. We both feel at ease knowing this will not pop off or fail.

    Love the build and your skills but can not help but think that non removable/adjustable tail wheel is going to cause you possible probs and was a pita to do!

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  2 года назад

      I don't think it will cause any issues to be honest. At the end of the day I at least know that my rudder is not being held by a plastic link that is connected to the tail wheel. There is a full control rod from servo to rudder and I feel safe now. The steerable tail wheel should it still break then I will just mod it to a retractable version.

    Hey Mike, I have Topflite plans and templates but the 2 1/8" balsa pieces for main fuselage side that glues to the Lower fuse side I don't have,any ideas?

    Great video. Thank you. It's motivating me to build one too. Are you going with the DLE 20RA or the Saito 4 Stroke I think you mentioned in an earlier video?
    I'm partial to 4 strokes in this size warbird. My plan is to go with a YS F-120 or 140 four stroke, header only for that awesome sound.
    Also, did you do anything special to modify the "wash out" or twist on the wing? I've read that the 60 size P-40 Gold series might be a bit prone to tip stall... but I don't have concrete information. I'm considering adding 1 or so degrees of additional washout on top of whatever washout the wing assembly tabs build in.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching. I originally wanted to go with a Saito FG21 4 stroke gas like in my TF Cessna 182 however I decided to go with a DLE20RA only because of price. This way I was able to purchase the Sierra P40 retracts. As far as washout I am just following the plans and the wing indence of 1/2deg. I am building the wing with the included washout created via the wing jig and ensuring that my jigs are always touching the building board especially during shetting.
