Nice work as always mate 🤙just a question regarding the tank, why do much extra fuel line wrapped up ? Thanks
@@NathanWaldock the line looped onto it's self is the vent line. This acts like a air trap so when you perform inverted maneuvers or nose down like dives etc the fuel does not just start spilling out through the vent line.
@BayonasRCWorld ok thanks so is this required to do in all gas engines? Or just for doing 3 D ?
By the way your covering vids have helped me out in a lot of ways ,thanks 🤙🤙🤙
@@NathanWaldock it is advised to do on gas engines in general. One other example is tilting the model on its nose for any reason without a looped air vent line the fuel will just flow out of the line quicker than you can say "crap". With the vent line looped it prevents the fuel from spilling out acting like your kitchen sink drain trap.

@@michaels6478 it is the Model Sounds Inc. Shockwave 3 sound module. Unfortunately the company has closed its doors almost a year ago. However I have an email dated October 8th, 2024 that I will share below. Hello, everyone. As you are aware, our company, Model Sounds Inc., closed its doors almost a year ago so that my wife and I can enjoy our retirement. The ShockWave 3 sound module was extremely versatile and easy to use for many different kinds of models. Since there is not a direct equivalent in the market place, I have been working with BEIER Electronic, from Schorndorf - Weiler near Stuttgart, Germany, to help them make their already very good products more suitable for model airplane and helicopter use. To that end they have acquired rights to our entire collection of airplane and helicopter sound sets for use in their own USM-RC-3 and MSM-1 sound modules. They have informed me that they are working on an external amplifier to boost the sound level and expect to offer their very easy to use MSM-1 mini-sound module pre-loaded with airplane and/or helicopter sounds next spring. Please contact them directly for further updates. Their website is here (available in German and English). Their email address is modellbau@beier-electronic.de. Good luck to you all and we hope you continue to enjoy adding sounds to your RC models. Best Regards, David Harrison.

LOL yeah it was a hot, humid day, then rain on amd off. This made the filming of this video to take all day until the evening. Should have been a few hours instead. However I digress
I dont know what to do. All my parts twist like crazy when shrinking. I'm building small parkflyer where the balsa/ply structure are a bit lighter and twist badly.
What covering are you using? Regular standard ultracote, monokote film is a tad bit thicker and heavier compared to like Hanger 9 Parklite Ultracote which is made for models like gliders and or smaller lite weight kits. When using regular covering on a delicate model structure once you start shrinking the covering it will continue shrinking and if the structure is delicate it will crush the structure at the sametime.
Try the parklite covering. I have never had any issues covering thin airfoil or very delicate balsa structures.
@@BayonasRCWorld Than you for the tip!
I purchased the Hpi 4.6 I think that’s how I will do it if not let me know
You can use these breakin procedures to any nitro RC car or truck engines. Overall it is mainly to slowly bring up the engine to proper temperature for an certain amount of time and then allow the engine to cool down somewhat. Overall the Traxxas procedures basically gives the newcomers to nitro the opportunity to learn to breakin the engine slowly while also getting some play time.
Thanks MB! Another great tutorial.

Best video I've seen so far to learn how to break in a Nitro engine. I've only been in the hobby for around 6 months now. Sure, as a kid I had a few el'cheapo RCs like the old Tycos, Nikkos and I think the most expensive one I ever had was an old Tamiya Grasshopper but they were nothing like what you have today. My first true RC I bought was the Traxxas Fiesta ST VXL due to being a fan of rally racing and the cars. Id been interested in buying a nitro and finally pulled the trigger today after a week of reading reviews, I chose the Traxxas Slayer 4x4 Pro Nitro along with I think a quart of 25%. I'm going to try to break it in some, if not all the way in tomorrow. I'm a bit confused with the tuning and all that but Ill figure it out. The main think is to get the engine broke in.

Totally sucks when a model goes in from some sort of mechanical or electrical problem. I would be more than happy to have a model go into the dirt should I be pushing its limits or just having such a awesome time doing 3D or Aerobatics. But when the model just goes in and nothing you can do because of a burnt out servo or brown out or a engine flame out during takeoff truly just sucks. Well happy flying my friend

Great video -- as usual. Thanks! I'm building a Gold Edition TF Cessna 182, and I'm hearing that the CG in the manual puts it tail heavy. What's your experience? Where did you locate the CG? Thanks.
I followed the CG location as per manual and plans. By the nature of the kit and built up tail section the tail is just heavy. Therefore you either make accommodations to try and reduce weight without compromising structural integrity. The manual CG location is where mine is set in all my flight videos here in the channel. To get the proper CG i had to add lead weights up front. I added some lead weights epoxied to the very front of my cowl. My Cessna 182 is heavy around 14.8lbs however she flies smooth and controlled without any bad habits. She comes in nicely with full flap down and during takeoff with half flaps. I'm so jealous of you having this classic plane that I had myself in the past. It was a killer precision aerobatic performer. As long as you did not need 3D hovering, this plane kicked ass. Enjoy the 90's my man. Just so you know, mine died in an air show on an air force base during a spin maneuver and it high speed stalled on me and when I tried to pull out, it snaped right into the ground. I never experienced a snap on full up elevator on any other plane (respect). Caught me totally off guard. The balsa explosion was spectacular. I agree, it's not a 3D plane, but I never thought of it like that at the time. Definitely do everting at a decent speed to avoid those weird stalls.
Bayonss RC, Do you have a video of that su30 70mm twin EDF transmitter setups?

Great video! very nice work. - learned glassing from a champion formula 1 pylon racer & builder. In the early 80's the pilots were assigned starting order according to the perfection and finish of their airplanes. In order to be competitive, they had to be lightweight. The only engine allowed was a stock .40. He taught me to dilute the finishing resin with alcohol or acetone. This slows the set-up time, helps it penetrate the cloth and balsa and makes sanding much easier. In addition, he would roll of toilet paper backwards over the surface while it was still wet to absorb excess resin. Peel off the soaked paper and repeat, this process makes for a lightweight finish and easier sanding. Best of luck with your aircraft & flying. 👍
Hello, I enjoyed watching your Monokote Covering Video. Monokote is also my favorite covering material, but it's becoming scarce now since it's no longer produced. My question for you is, do you have any videos on applying Ultracote? I'm attempting to do a repair on a Hanger 9 Ultra-Stick and I find that the Transparent Ultracote doesn't behave as nice as Monokote did. It's almost like working with cellophane. FYI, I wanted to have the airplane look like it wasn't ever crashed, so since Hanger 9 used Yellow Transparent Ultracote, I am attempting to use it for recovering the Horizontal Stabilizer, which was damaged in the crash. So let me know in a reply if you have ever tried Ultracote and if you have any tips on using it. Thank you.

The front should havew strip 1st and the side piece ironed over a 1/4 " as fue always gets under
The covering sequence is covered and sole purpose is to keep the seams facing down and away. Once the side of the fuselage covering is applied it will overlap at the bottom and trimmed just as the top covering being applied it will overlap the fuse side covering and trimmed. No need to add a strip onto the fuselage side prior to covering. That is better suited in areas like in the corners of trailing edges Aileron area or where the stab and fin meet. Adding strips of covering in these areas ensures that those areas will be properly covered. I have been covering like this since 1982 and for 42 years building and covering it has never failed me nor has any fuel ever gotten into my seams. The model in this video still looks the same today with no covering issues whatsoever with the techniques depicted in my video.
