This was my first and only heli. I loved it. When they killed the V2 I got out of the hobby. I just wanted to fly the Raptor. Cheap and easy to repair.
Nice flying…I still fly mine pretty much the same as you. I think my throttle and pitch curves are similar to yours as well. I remember when the Raptor first came out (could not afford heli’s at the time) so I didn’t get mine until years later. I also have a vintage TSK MyStar 30…all CF frame and full metal head and tail. I’ll never get rid of my a Raptor.
Yeah I have been flying Raptors since 2004. Started flying helis since 1989. After Thunder Tiger shutdown and parts became harder to get I ended up transitioning to Align helis.
Love this lol you’re collecting looks like mine I love some flybar helis. I have 2 titan x50s 1 belt 1 torque tube both brand new. Venture 30, 2 trex 600n 1 is brand new for a spare just in case. Raptor 30/50 got sold and I regret it. Every time I fly a newer heli I’m reminded why I keep all the flybar stuff. So much simpler having to bring a laptop to go fly is crazy lol
I have very fond memories of my raptor 30 v2, I didn't like the decals on it so I peeled them off and thats exzachary lol 😂, how I liked the fuselage, all white and it stood out pretty good ! Thanks for bringing back some good memories chelu !👍🏻🤙🏻👌🏻
A very nice demonstration of what the Raptor 30 can do Michael..👍 I still fly my 24 year old V1 Raptor on it's OS 32SXH + 5% nitro but a lot more sedately due to having a lot less talent than you, but enjoy it none the less. I really need to upgrade my gyro from it's non-heading hold CSM 180..!!..👍
Right on! Yeah I have been a Raptor heli owner since 1999 and enjoyed all my Raptor helis throughout the years. I was really disappointed when Thunder Tiger closed their doors.
@@BayonasRCWorld The V2 certainly has a better shaped canopy with it's pointy nose than mine. There's still something special about long nitro heli flights and instant replays with a quick refuel. I agree, a shame they discontinued it, a real game changer in it's day that performed really well at an affordable price. I mainly fly planes and gliders but I enjoy my heli dabbling with the Raptor 30 and a small 450 T-Rex..👍
hey guys! my buddy just got one used… he needs a rx/tx… any recommendations??? I know he’s not looking for top of the line, but a quality, “less expensive”… he knows he’s going to possibly crash this thing and until he gets good, wanted to save a couple bucks on a used radio
@@BayonasRCWorld That's funny I just knew it!, The great guys flying at that field in the mid 90's really had patience with me as a curious kid and took the time to answer all my questions almost every weekend might I add! It eventually led to me being a pilot after of course having many RC's of my own once I could afford them. No joke I still have dreams of that field, although it looked slightly different back then .
Futaba BLS451 digital Brushless servos. Overkill but what I had laying around years ago. I originally had JR DS821 servos in it many many many years ago.
The thing is this is all the power you need to go flying for the whole day and really injoy yourself with other raptors flying, 3d has just go to boring. The bosses at thunder tiger all need a good hard kick up the ass.
Normal mode 0-20-40-60-80 Idle 1= 70-60-50-60-70 Idle 2= 80-70-60-70-80 Half stick my pitch is 0 degs My max pitch is +10/-10 No governor just throttle curves being used

@@isaacbalderas7280 do you still have it. I'll buy it.
Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a RC helicopter with a flybar. Awesome video! 👍👍🤙👍🤙

You can find cheap used radios on ebay or even ask on some of the facebook RC groups.
Radiomaster TX16 is the best choice
Very nice! The raptor 30 was my first heli. The sound brings me back big time! Thanks for posting... this field also reminds me of the one in Guam
Yup because it is NCS Aeromodelers club of Guam my home field

What is your hover pitch 5.5 or 6 . And also the pitch curve.
+11 deg/-11 deg. Pitch curve is 100-50-0-50-100
Hover is around 6 deg
So 6 degree hover , what is your thottle set to at hover in normal mode 40 50 or 60? Thanks trying to find a good hover head speed in normal mode.
Unfortunately I can't fly anymore, after 20 years I don't want to break :(
Will this helicopter work without the flybar or is it required for the main rotor to function properly?
You can remove the flybar and go flybarless. You will have to make some changes but doable
Which futaba servos are you using ?
