It would be cool if this guy created a book called " The four hour mind ", dealing with things like mindset, creativity, intelligence, memory, stuff like that.
If there are any good books like that please let me know
He did.. get Tools of Titans
+RsExtremeVids great book
tools of titans has that part
How is Tools of Titans? Thinking about throwing it on my list
1. do morning meditation - start small and increase gradually
2.asking great questions
why can't you achieve your 10 year goals in 6 months
how to getbetter ?
1.study great interviews
I have always wondered how to learn the skill of asking good questions. Once again you gifted us with something amazing. Thank you, Tim!
really cool. i've kind of abandoned formal meditation recently and hearing somebody say it really is helpful in a concrete way is useful.
Quality Questions 💫
Great tips Tim!
Yes! Love these videos, keep em coming!!
Love the new content coming out. Keep it up!
great tips
good.
Does he has incentive in that app Headspace ?
most likely. seen him promote that app in many videos
If he does so what?
I found it useful.
I would guess Tim advertise every profuct in wich he has shares. Imagine having such a large audience that when you buy a share of a company you are pretty sure that share will incresse in value after uploading this kind of videos. It's a nice move.
He has an incentive to give you good information so you stick around.
The guy is over complicating simple art of meditation instead thinking of millions of things.
Delete your social media and throw your tv out the window.
Then make lists every day and habitually ask yourself "what is my next action"?
Then perform those actions without fail.
I still have my social media accounts, but I deleted the apps off my phone and its pretty crazy to realize just how much time I used to spend mindlessly scrolling through them.
I personally love when you do video form content rather than audio😊
so you can double click your mouse while you listen?
You can just take the audio from the video. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
2 Keys to Productivity and Achievement
1. Meditate
2. Ask Great Questions.
Here's my favorite trick for being productive. It's called doing it anyway. Just make a deal with yourself. From here on out, every time you think of a reason not to get something done, just do it anyway.
That's actually a great idea !
Fierce-Logic.com : Insight with an edge
Scott K what the hell?
Is this a joke?
I'm laughing at the fact I think this is an actual advice and not a joke,
And since I'm going out anyways to do one emergency (the cats need food)
I'll actually do things I was going to do tomorrow because I feel lazy
- go to the laundromat
- grocery shop for the house too
- bank
- do my eyebrows.
Por
This works well, except not at all if you are watching this video.
This is the kind of advice you would come to expect from a youtube comment. Whats your next advice: "How to become a better listener": You just listen more.
Always like seeing you pop up on my RUclips feed. For me at least, I pay more attention to RUclips than Facebook.
Muslims benefit from a very goal-oriented meditation that is morning salah.
Thanks, Tim. I was a serious competitive distance runner for about 10 years of my life and ran at a nationally competitive level for about 5 of those years. I can honestly say that running was one of the most beneficial things to my life in a number of ways and that it had a profound impact on my mind and "spirit." I definitely came to view it as meditation and attribute much of my success in life (work, relationships, personal goals, etc) to these meditative runs. I realize running is not everyone's thing, but I can strongly recommend running as a form of meditation and something that can be used alone or in conjunction with more conventional forms of meditation.
"Why can't I achieve my 10 year goals in the next 6 months?" -- I don't know if you're quoting Thiel wrong or if that's how he originally said it. Either way it's slightly off. The better question is "How could I do this in 6 months, instead of 10 years?" the subtle difference being your brain will instantly begin to answer *how* it can be done, instead of the reasons *why* it isn't possible.

He always say "80+%" but that's just a rough estimate. I challenge him to actually tabulate this. I don't want this to be one of those horrendous generalizations where it's actually only 13%.
Listen to his 200+ podcast interviews and you will understand why he says 80+%
It's too hard to quantify when you count things outside of meditation
Skills to master to be more productive.
-Morning Mindfulness Meditation; 10-20mins.
-Asking questions; Study Interviews.
legend
He should really where a shirt for these videos.
Did you misspell wear or was that part of a pun?
I don't see what's wrong.
or where is wrong :) heheh
I don't SEE what is wrong. Wear the shirt?
:) it's just a tipfeler , you wrote : " where a shirt for " instead of wear, but it was funny :) sorry mate
Homie mr. Ferriss; it's about time you check out the navy seals commander of dating. Obviously you've heard of Real Social Dynamics, you've read Strauss' "The Game" - find and interview Owen Cool (a.k.a RSDTyler). I went to his paid event (as a female, as a feminist) and participated in activities that made my brain switch from rational to psilocybin. Take a chance, my friend. He is fascinating. The edgy, underground, Tony Robbins (of pick up).
Take it easy,
Spenny
ps; fucking loving tools of titans!!!
"It's not being egotistical or egocentric, I think -- it's being human."
Boom. Gold, right there, in a remark of secondary relevance to the topic.
Just like in his books.
I would never replace my now 25 year practice of TM with any other practice called meditation. TM has a cumulative effect over time. Running or listening to another is contemplation not meditation, at least not as I have experienced it.
Nice one Timbo. Seneca bust in the background?
Shit. The asking questions & thinking process. Jedi Master type stuff
Mind awareness
All better questions not this you n can Google or broad ones. Be specific and relevant to person you n ask questions. 🤠
Becoming a screenwriter for two or three hours in the morning after a little meditation and body warmups
I love your educational you tube videos! You should do more of these! ❤
Don't listen to the 10-20 minutes he says to meditate. Do what works for you. Could be a minute.
100
Dude, you are amazing.
I wish I could understand everything you do.
Being productive is about setting priorities. Mindfulness and meditation encourages setting priorities.
Can asking questions in youtube comments improve my question improving skills?
God bless you, Tim. Thanks for sharing your good thoughts.
Does this work if you have kids?
When I first heard of the 4 hr work week...I was like, "No way somebody figured that out". I felt depressed working 40 hr weeks during the holidays at my job, knowing that. And tim you got great info man. I need to get the newest book.
tim, why don't you have more subscribers? what propelled you to create more content for your channel? thank you for this.
The use of words is so profound.
Is there even anyone interviewing him or has he just set up the camera on automatic wobble and put a half full coffee just in the frame?
Tim ain't got no time for an actual interview where 80+% of the questions don't come from Charlie Rose, Terry Gross, or Larry King.
lmfao
You're very well spoken, thanks for uploading the videos that you do. I hope for tremendous success to come by your way!
Why am i wasting my life?
Just trying to ask myself Haha
Thanks for sharing this Tim! If you're planning on coming to D.C. During the inauguration time, let me show you some of the best afghani food places!
I'm a fan, but you've got enough money Tim, stop putting 10 minutes (TEN MINUTES) of ads on every single podcast. It grates like hell. Some of the stoicism podcasts have more ads than content ffs
it's free stfu loser
Love these videos, Tim!! I find it much easier for myself to maintain focus at content if there is a visual anker. For example podcast are not so easy for me to listen to and maintain focus all the time.
OK SO RUNNING WHILE LISTENING TO SAY THE SAME BEETHOVEN PIECE----HAS THE SAME EFFECTS AS TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION?????????? anyone want fill me in???
Thank you Tim! I appreciate all you do and share. You have helped me more than you can know.
wow. really good. asking good questions seems like a part of thinking big / thinking outside the box.
where did you get that wall plant art behind you! I need more green in my home! --your channel is awesome thank you
Poor question
Morning meditation! LOVE IT! Starting off with how I want my day to go ALWAYS works. I do a little priming (Tony Robbins does it), too. The immediate hot-to-cold showers/baths are incredible, stimulates my immune system and wakes me up instantly. Cheers, Tim! Still reading your 4-hour work week book!
Just a note on meditation: Anyone going to a "guru" for meditation techniques have missed the point entirely. You're so caught up on having the training wheels that you've lost where you're going. I recommend listening to the, late, philosopher, Alan Watts and you'll find your own way to meditate once you understand the self.
funny how it's the VCs asking people how they would achieve everything in a short amount of time...implying that they should. Of course, to do that in the business world you're going to need massive amounts of capital and for that there are VCs.
at 2:43 Tim says "Running for 10,20,30 miles and listening to the same song" is a form of mindfulness, can someone please elaborate on how that might be a similar mindfulness effect to meditation?
Tim - thanks for the video. What did you do when studying interviewers? Has there been any particular practice that has worked for you? Thanks!
I desire this mans calm cool collective manor 🧖🏼♂️
Find external constraints.
The running with only one song for an extended period of time really grabbed my attention;
Does anyone think they could explain the reasoning behind why it essentially serves the same purpose as meditation?
Thanks!
Hey dude, don't know whether you see this. But, I'll nevertheless will leave a reply. In Buddhism(I'm a Buddhist writing) meditation is not just focusing on your breath. Meditation can be focusing on anything. I do a few, loving kindness, death nature of humans, breath and even my workout. Doing something with a single focus itself is a meditation. There are 42 postures to be exact as said In Buddhist texts that I said we can use to meditate. The Buddha himself used walking as a meditation everyday. Likewise anything is possible to take as an meditation and is very beneficial. Music is also one great to let mind be focused over hearing the same songs everyday or during a certain activity.
Every morning after a workout, I take a shower while listening to same 4 songs everyday. And then, I write for an hour. When our brain realise the patterns it has less difficulty in getting ourselves focused. That's one reason habits can make or break us.
Hope you or any other reading this found this valuable. For any further clarifications please let me know, I'll reply below.
Thank you and have a great day ♥️
Good vid.. Well I just do very simple meditation in the morning and at night (15 min). Mainly just counting my breaths to start with and within a few minutes Bamm! I'm in a meditative state. I think people can make meditation complicated when really it can be very simple.
Tim have you ever performed Vishan Lakhiani's 6 phase guided meditation on the Omvana app it's probably the best meditation practice I have ever used, try it sometime and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for the great content by the way.
People shouldnt go immediately into any of those forms meditation. The best meditation to start with is concentration, following your breath in and out, count to ten over and over.
2:42- Wow, did he perhaps mean minutes, not miles? I run 10 miles for workouts, but that's pretty straining (I'm in decent shape). Keeping up a meditative state for that long is hard enough.
Great advice Tim! Might have to take the plunge and try TM. Headspace hasn't worked for me. But also might try Sam Harris' guided sessions. Thanks for all that you do!
is TM an abbreviation for something?
Transcendental Meditation
Check out the Muse headband I found that really helpful
Sam Harris' guided meditations are great and free as well. Check out his book Waking Up too, he talks a lot about meditation in it.
OMM
its an app called one moment meditation
it sets you up for a one min meditation at a time. sometimes its best to crawl before we walk. this is a great way to establish the habit of daily meditation, even if just for a moment at a time. Good luck:)
Twitter skills. Nothing is more productive than tweeting effectively.
I guess that's how Trump won the election ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
is this... is this why we can''t democracy?
I hope this was sarcasm ..
what exactly do you produce by using twitter?
Mr. Ferriss here has 1.4 million followers, so there's that.
It's interesting that one of the basic disciplines of a healthy Christian Life is daily "meditation" on God's word.
Christians have believed that for centuries
Thank you
I liked this
Thank you very much 😊☕ I like thinking more
my nigga
Vipassana meditation
How did you "study" Larry King, by doing no research on your interviewee and asking ignorant questions?
Meditation (daily) and asking great questions (to people and yourself): ✓
Alright
would it be ok if I use this video as meditation?
I will analyze it very much and be reminded so much
very great tools thank you
I think the best question to ask (once you've really listened)...is 'really?'
Definitely agree with meditation. It's made such a huge difference for me in every aspect of my life.
Study Larry king ?? Wow. Intense ...
Tim h is cool
Kinda sad that most people can't even sit for 20 minutes a day in meditation.

Are there any books you would recommend for learning to ask better questions?
John Bais-Line Design I have similar questions or may be some sample questions to get an idea

KETO BUTTER OF COURSE xDD
Thank You.
Please keep this up, wonderful format and fantastic to see you speak!
For meditation - Aware app is better than headspace. I will go for one time payment over any subscription based apps.
At 4:20 I just see a head in a bunch of shrubbery
Hi Tim, thank you for generously sharing your insights... appreciated! :)
Hope you can have a series on structured guide, video or book on effective learning, coaching. Goal plus a do-able action plan. Ex. On learning Japanese language: key mindset to develop and a detailed guide or routine...step by step to do it. With your research & actual experience on these... many can benefit from your video/workbook.
Happy to subscribe with notification as I take you as my mentor from this day onward. :) Thank you! - AHA moment - 11/25/18
Hey Tim, thanks for this info! Do you have any links to specific videos with Tony Robbins asking questions as you described? I am very intrigued by this concept and would love to look into it further through your path.
Look up for the "I'm not your guru" documentary available in netflix. You'll get some exemples of it from a Tony Robbins live event.
Thank you!
📝
Very helpful video, Tim. Thanks!
I exercise almost daily now,I utilise the same songs :)
There is nothing to click over there dude
Great video,
nice advice!
Already motivated! :)
I need to understand this video in spanish :(
Thank you for these great tips!! Have been reading your books and you're a real inspiration for us. We hope that you will share more of your advice with us on RUclips.
Elon musk does not do meditation btw .
Hey tim,
Great idea with the morning meditation! awesome video
