If you go to Camden again the area of the food market near the canal has some good quality stalls. You can get a Yorkshire burrito which is a full roast dinner wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding, arepas and they have also Indian fusion burgers or a place called burger & beyond.
Another reason to go back
So glad you got fish and chips from a chippy, it’s just not the same in pubs or restaurants (not to say that’s bad but not the same) I always like a lot of vinegar and scrapings, (small bits of crunchy batter).
It was really good to be honest
The first noodles you got was from Crazy Chinese Lady!!!
I have no idea if that's her name, but they've been there for the 15+ years I've gone to Camden Town. She will try to shove a free sample into your face, and is rather convincing yet good food lol!
My mates and I always called her Crazy Chinese Lady. I tell people you gotta go towards her for some good food.
That’s actually really cool to read about her from you as well randomly picked her stand
Is it the same spot that had the bang bang chicken guy? Used to love walking past and hearing him rap about the bang bang chicken “no body gona die”
Dude sounded like a Mongolian throat singer.
I left London 14 years ago, As soon as I heard her voice, I had a ratatouille esque flashback of my emo days hanging around the lock
Thats awsome, turned out awsome!!! We had a blast doing that!!! Next time......Wales!! 🏴
Finally *JunkFoodEngland* has proper fish n chips!!
We missed you today 1080p, but the video was awesome, thanks for sharing as always :D cheers from Argentina!
Thank you 🙏 I am still learning more and more
Nice cameo by Angela.
Good Easter egg hunting 👍
I was literally eating some masala when you two dug into some in this video. Was a surreal 4D experience actually eating the same food.
Wow Junk Food Japan in 4D that’s awesome 😎
On the Chips/Crisps/Fries debate I'll just reference the old quote of "America and England...two countries separated by a common Language."
LoL 😂 I’m still confused
Good video! Glad Angela and You enjoyed time with Terry in London! Tough to find good eating places on the spot; always better to PLAN your trips. That way you check online reviews to discover the Absolute BEST local cuisines and street foods. As a Foodie myself, I ALWAYS plan my travel around the FOOD, researching places online days/weeks in advance so I don't waste time wandering aimlessly and guarantee I get in the max local attractions, history, food and culture! It only takes a few minutes and often I already know what new foods I'd like to try from online menus before I even set foot in the country/restaurant! 😅 I'll even plan walking paths to ensure I see the most sights while hitting the most diverse restaurants along the way! You should try more pre-planning. Even if just a few minutes on your phone at an airport 😁👍 📲
I did write the story to be like this, but thanks for the advice TOMODACHI
I love Camden, sucha good place to spend an afternoon. The street food there is always delicous, and the stores there are always really cool. Last time I went they had a proper Namco Bandai arcade with a load of gacha machines and figures, was awesome!
It was a great experience
Love this episode of Junk Food UK!
Me too TOMODACHI
Camden isn't quite used to be what it was 5-10 years ago. I'd highly recommend brick lane / spitalfields. It's still changed over the years but still has a good vintage feel to it. Lots of street food along brick lane and inside the truman brewery with a lot of continental range, got the famous beigel bake, the one with the white sign, and then all the vintage/thrift stores. Spitalfields has a lot of stalls too and a small food court area thats great and its only about 15-20 minute walk at most
Sounds like a thing to go back for
That was the best Kung Fu movie I've seen since the likes of Ninja in the Dragon's Den, and Fong Sai Yuk.
BoooooM TOMODACHI
Aaayy!! If you ever make it back to the UK you need to try a proper sausage roll and a meat pie! And you need to visit a proper Scottish Pub. This video made me miss home lol (im from Carlisle in Scotland). I've yet to find a good fish and chip in Canada, though a few have come close.
Hey all the way from Canada 🇨🇦 that’s really cool TOMODACHI
This looked wonderful. I could tell you were having a great time!
never ending discussion about chips im giggling talking about flashback
Right?!? I had to keep it in there
Ah! Wish I’d known you were in London! I’d have bought you a beer!
Next time TOMODACHI
It all looks sooo good!
As an American, I'm glad you got to try fish and chips at the source after trying them in Japan. I've tried it in Japan, at The Hub, and I found it pleasant. Not great. I don't have any better connections, yet in Japan. I don't get to go to the cool places. I know you only had 6 hours in England (or, I think that's what you said). Next time you're in Camden, maybe try the jellied eels? Apparently it's a very England dish, and it so happens there's a place in Camden. Poppies Fish and Chips. I've never had them, and I've never been to England (well, I've been at London airport, but just a pass through).
In Tohoku, they push the conger eel, and it's uh, I think it's just okay. In Tokyo, you've got that good unagi. We have unagi, but it's very expensive in Tohoku, and the quality is inconsistent. In England, jellied eels are a staple traditional food. A cheap food. I wouldn't dare to call it a 'junk food', without knowing much about it, but maybe... a 'fast food'? Is it a fast food - not sure. I really wonder if it's anything like conger eel/anago or unagi. Eel is eel? I'm not sure if that's true. Maybe? Next time?
lol 😂 I literally cut out the scene where I spoke about Pop’s fish and Chips being too fancy for me cause I wanted to find a more local
Place !! We really only had 6 hours in London but we filmed it and I had fun editing it.
In Denmark we eat lots of eel but mostly fried in butter sauce. It’s really good too but very different from Japanese Eel’s. Junk or not the show is always ready to investigate any kind of food ! I only really consider it Junk if you eat too much and most of the foods I show I end up eating too much. Thanks for sharing TOMODACHI
Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Glasgow, Scotland in the UK. Glad you went to a proper chippy. I always have curry sauce on the side with my Fish and chips, to dip the chips and some of the fish into
Mmm 😋 that sounds good
@@JunkFoodJapan it is for sure. Btw buy yourself a GoPro with the Max lens mod (for stability and ultra wide screen) and add in a tripod selfie stick. That way you have a high-quality, small and lightweight travel filming set up for youtube videos should you need it when unplanned 👍
that sounds good too LOL
@@JunkFoodJapan No worries mate. I really like your channel and thought it might help 👍
I actually just invested in some wireless mic's and a new tripod, so should be able to film some good content with the little PowerShot G7X MarkIII. it's small and compact and with Mic.it should sound great too.
Great opening😂😂😂
LoL 😂
I love when you use your wife as a "random" background character :D
That shot was hilarious. 😂 she laughed so much when she saw it. Nice Easter egg hunting
Food looked good. Those kind of markets are rare in North America.
I hope you do a tour of Denmark one day and show some classical foods and some motervejs grill ish food to cover the "junk food" part :D
I’ll be back there soon enough and bring my camera! So don’t worry I can definitely film some cool shows there
The whole time (maybe a couple of months) that I've been subbed to this channel, I've been trying to figure out Nic's accent. Never would have guessed he's from Denmark.
LoL 😂 I am Danish born in Greece raised in Copenhagen but been living in Japan for more than 30 years! Welcome to the channel TOMODACHI
If you do get back to the UK, go to Whitby in Yorkshire for Botham's Tea Rooms on Skinner Street.
They're a bakery, but their tea room upstairs is a TEA room. They have a menu for just the different teas they have to offer. And their pork pies are pretty good too. And their cakes. Oh, they have these tea biscuits that are absolutely perfect for dunking in tea. They retain structural integrity (cap'n) long enough to take TWO bites.
That sounds like a place and experience the Wife would love to go and check out !
Camden is banging
Wait, did the lady in the chippy say that fries are crisps? That's bonkers! Fries are chips in the UK, and most often they're what we'd call "steak fries" and are often floppy and/or soggy (so not as good as other styles IMO)
And this never gets old… lol 😂
Haddock is the best fish, I’m from a Haddock port (Grimsby) which had the largest fishing fleet in Britain 🇬🇧 until Maggie Thatcher came into power.
People don't visit England for the food, that's like visiting Scotland for the weather ! LoL
Glad you survived London mate 👍
LOL 😂
🤣
You clearly know as much about England as Nick does. Anyone can recycle tired l, cliche stereotypes. As for Scotland, have you been? The weather is what makes it beautiful, if you don’t like rain, go in the summer, or can’t you afford that?
@@ubertoby Don't be butthurt Toby, just try escaping the boiled veg for somewhere in Asia, Central Europe or Africa ! You know, a country that uses spices 🙂
England has lots of Airports for a reason ! LoL
Oi! We're not Wales 🤣😂
TBH I'm a Londoner and I avoid Camden its a tourist trap, and the best fish to get is Rock salmon
OK another reason to go back for more
seems like every country has that type of chinese food lol. it's very popular in toronto (canada) too
I think you got that right
The video for some reason is stuck in 720P is it just me??
I uploaded it as 1080 ? Wonder if I did something wrong ?
@@JunkFoodJapan I am not even sure if this big is only happening to me or not, but with 4 people liking the comments then small set of people might be experiencing the same thing. RUclips has very weird problems like this happen occasionally to some videos. I'm not sure what the solution could be.
Seeing items in Nick’s hands make me wonder about their actual size. His hands are like 3x the size of mine 😂
LoL 😂 they are huge like seriously huge
Their big!!! Nic is big!!! Obviously I was stood in a pothole through out the entire video!! 🤔
LOL
"The most ate food in England is an Indian Chicken Tikka Massala" is certainly a joke that writes itself ngl
Americans call UK chips ‘fries’, and UK crisps ‘potato chips’.
Chicken Tikka Masala is Scottish as well!
LoL 😂
@@JunkFoodJapan I posted about this above before I saw this comment. Tikka Masala is in fact Scottish. It was invented in Glasgow
Did your production team change recently? Videos have been feeling different.
“Production team” 😂. I felt like Chris was helping him originally but now it feels like we just his wife filming on her iPhone 6. They’re clearly making it up as they’re going along with little to no preparation. The first videos he done were genuinely a good start but they’re getting progressively worse IMO.
It’s a learning curve for sure
I’m so confused~ again what is chips 😵💫
Same 😅
LMFAO 🤣
How do you have only 62k subs?! A damn shame.
Thank you TOMODACHI and please feel free to share with friends and family. I would like to hit 100,000 at some point but it’s hard to hit the algorithm right…
Not been to Camden market for a while, I think I purchased a shisha bong there and my mum took it off me because she thought I was smoking weed in it lol
I almost pinned this comment up there at the top TOMODACHI
Bit of a bs tagline, no? ;) Glad you tried proper chips.
Yeah me too. And they were good
Why 720?
It was a rendering mistake, I am still learning stuff.
Decent bits of acting. It looked like you really whacked him hard in the back of the head!! Was Great Action film set-up.. 😲 Then, the built up moment abruptly awkwardly stopped. Missed cinematic opportunity.. You should've had a Street Fighter game style fight right there on the street complete with fake blood splattering, health bars and game sound effects! That would've been AWESOME! Your stairwell bit at the end seemed just thrown in out of place and very rushed, with thumbnails for next suggested videos interrupting the scene. Be aware of leaving few moments at end of each video, especially after such skits, to allow for other recommended thumbnails to show without interrupting enjoyable scenes. Of course, your writer/editor should know that. Again, I would've put the fight scene at the beginning right after the smack in the head, right there on the streets. I would've had each of you try to pick up and throw or use funny things in the background as weapons. You could've then each attempted specialty Mortal Kombat Finishing moves on each other. No matter who won afterwards, you both are gasping and looking at each other with murderous intent, then suddenly break character and the fight tension by saying something like: "1) Hey, all this is making me hungry! 2) Yeah, me too mate. 1) I could really go for some good local food right now! 2) Well mate, this is my town, I know just the right spots; come along then! 1) Alright brother, thanks, we'll pick this up later.." See? Wouldn't that be a great scene and dialog? Then you segway into the first restaurant saying: "1) Man, like I always say, a great meal always tastes BETTER after a Great workout! So what have we got here to try today..?" Just some creative ideas for your next videos Nick. If you ever need more tips, reach out to me anytime. Have FUN always my friend! 🤗👍 Ganbatte!
Love it TOMODACHI and great feedback. This was my first attempt at filming and editing mostly by myself. I had a lot of fun and look forward to getting better over this next year
@@JunkFoodJapan AWESOME! Glad to hear it! Keep getting out of your comfort zones in order to discover and hone your new/hidden talents! Love the Energy and Enthusiasm, as Always! Keep Moving Forward! 😁👍
Are you still in England?
LoL no!
Next time come to Glasgow, we'll show you a good Indian curry. The tikka masala was invented here (don't listen to Manchester they are fibbing)
Oooh let the rumble begin…
enjoy your food laddies....
Hmm 666th like, wow that was odd.
Kinda cool right?
Nic, don't try the english accent.
Pete got his passport and money stolen and you get a near death experience in London. Seems to be a dangerous place.
Note to myself: Avoid London at all cost. xD
I had a great time except for my credit card not working anywhere
bro what happened to the editing?
LoL 😂 I’m doing it
@@JunkFoodJapanAah okay
I gotta start somewhere
@JunkFoodJapan Yessir good luck man 💪
Hey it's antivaxx nick.
Sorry muscle man (and everyone in England), french fries will always be more correct because the potatoes are "frenched". England's weird denial of anything that has a whiff of France has a lot to do with that one.
While I'm commenting we must always draw attention to the huge garbage island these days. It is England. Do your part to not feed into it!
British people did not invented good food yet :)
The sandwich, fried chicken, apple pie, fish and chips, macaroni cheese, Japanese curry, 'American style' pancakes, bacon and eggs for breakfast are all just a few British food inventions
I’m sure Terry is a nice guy but the “acting” & fact he’s wearing a tshirt about Ronin life while not knowing how to say, “itadakimasu”, is hilarious!
The food looked tragically bad, it was obvious neither of you liked those disgusting noodles, but you still acted like you did! The tikka masala looked nothing like anything I’ve seen anywhere in the U.K! What was the deal with the soggy fish & chips? I know you’ve seemed to have gone back to this gonzo style of vids filmed on an iPhone but you still need to set up the shots!
Finally, how did you nearly die, was it the embarrassingly awkward bit of acting at the end?
Yeah it was the DeathMatch ! But this was filmed on a proper camera and edited by myself. So still a lot to learn!
Why would I know that word!? He didn't even tell me what we were saying, so if you actually listen, I say something completely different each time. RoninLife is a clothing brand, I dont need to be Japanese to wear it do!? 🙄
Yes, this is all done on the fly, ad hoc, making it up as we went along! 🤔
NGL, I still have ptsd just seeing this filth on the screen🥲, but it was great to see that at least you enjoyed yourself there.. 🤷
