I don't see the actor/actress endings as good or bad, just who you decided to become. How I sort of imagine what happened was Lily died in the fire on the boat, and James tried to bring her back through supernatural means (which they implied it). She did but not exactly how he thought. If you guys have seen the movie The Prodigy, I feel like its something similar. James AND Lily are sharing one body (James') and are sort of flip flopping between the two. So the Director is trying to get them to choose just ONE singular mind (he in particular wants James, maybe because he's easier to control or something?). James always seemed to be a little envious of Lily's courage, so maybe with disobeying the Director he wanted to be her (which results in Lily taking over the body for good). The Rat Queen sending them back to the beginning is because they can't decide who to truly be, the boy or the girl, which mind to truly take over the body. That's just how I interrpreted it, since it seems to really be up to us how to do it. Its not like the first LOF where its easier to understand what the story was.
The director is james consciousness and we have to decide whether to left lily behind and move on or let lily live once again by let her taking control of james body
I honestly don't care which is good or bad, the disobey and obey ending speeches both give me chills no matter how many times I hear them and that violin music at the end ^_^ so pretty
As far as i've understood, the good ending is the one with the female actress, because you need to disobey all the Directors orders in the four possible choices. The bad one is with the male actor, because you need to obey the Director in all four choices, and the true/neutral ending is because you have mixed obeyed and disobeyed in the four choices.
Ryan Pruner in the first choice, the Director tells you to “shoot The right one” As in the woman on the right. So it depends on your obediance of all his instructions
I think you have a worse ending by disobeying. If you disobey you basicly can't move on and portray your dead sister on stage. If you obey you also have a bad ending, because even in moving on, you burn yourself out as stated (but not shown in the ending) multiple times by the director in your playtrough. He wants you to shine for once, brightly, but short. To not be nothing for your whole life (both endings destroy the formless figurine). In both endings the character you play isn't at peace with his decision though, and all his selftorment and indecision opens up again symbolized as the opening box. Above the box is the Shizo filmposter additionally confirming that. In both endings you are the same person shown subtle by the wart "both" persons have on the right side of their lip (left in the mirror). You can actually draw a lot more story from the game, one that i find very interesting and unique. The only problem is that it has to much clutter of effects and stuff thrown around, so even people that could decipher complicated symbolism get thrown off, because some entire scenes arent even important. If you really look for it though there is some genius storytelling to be found.
It doesn't help that a lot of the context has been cut out like a clumsy butcher and a bunch of symbolism is lost. The chest is representative of the abuse the siblings suffered at the hands of their father, as we learn in flashbacks. The character you play is an actor/actress. Whether you are the bother or the sister depends on choices you make in play, with a good chance that the sibling you don't end up being died in childhood. The first ending I don't know exactly, but a big theme of the game is an actor building themself into the character they play, so it's probably related to your actions not leaning towards either sibling, an incomplete character, a "thing that shouldn't be."
I saw bizarre references to Eraserhead (1977), The Shining (1980), Twin Peaks (1990), Se7en (1995), etc. I think the best way to describe it as a Surrealistic.
I think the bit where lily dies was not what actually happened. It was what happened in the script but not in real life. In real life you(the player) choose who died and who survived(if you don't, you just keep doing it) because you can't be both. Whoever you are, you see the events from their point of view. If lily survived and james died, she thinks that if james lived he should die in order for them to be together(not because he's weak but because she always had a dramatic and creative imagination). If james survived he accepts his past although it doesn't make his character any stronger.
Dont follow the clickbaiting title. None of the endings are good, bad or true, the whole point of the game is that you dont know wich one is true, and that none of them are bad.
The neutral ending implies that everything up to this point was real, it wasn't in the player characters head but rather their really insane on board a ghost ship...
Obviously the first is a bad ending there’s no explanation needed the actor simply has lost themself and has not been true to the character themself or the performance
The good ending is the one with the male actor, the bad ending is the one with the one with the evil lady, the true ending is the one with the female actor
@@sydneywaldron3609 Sometimes, the good ending is also the true ending. Like in TellTale's "The Walking Dead" season 2. With all thinga considered, the best and most reasonable choice Clementine could do at the end of season 2 was taking AJ to Wellington. That's the ending that can allow us to skip season 3 all together. The alone ending could help us skip it too, but it's can t be true, because 11 years old girls are not supposed to raise a baby alone. It takes growing up a bit in a settlement before keeping going forward for that.
My poor brain. I don't get it. So confusing. Is it possible that the character james has dissociative personality disorder and the visions along the game were merely his illusion? Childhood traumatic expreriences with his sister caused him to be lunatic? I assume he also suffers schizo like the painter from layers of fear 1. And as an actor he tried his best to hide his mental illness. Please correct me bloober my head is jumbled trying to understand your storyline. Ouch!
For me the game just kinda came together in my last hour of playing it and I understood almost all of it. I do feel like it was really confusing at times and the games messages are easy to miss. I think it has to do with your state of mind at the time of playing. Clever game though I enjoyed it and it made me think a lot.
Hi @Shirrako, I'm making a video for LOF2 detail explaining. But I lost the Forever ending after reinstalled window. May I borrow the Forever ending from your video ? That would be really great. Many thanks!

SAME. Just some really deep voice saying stuff like 'Fire is fire, or is it not? Who are we, for we are not? The truth is power, but power is flame ...' etc etc. I was - like - 'Come on man, make some sense'...
So who is this Woldemort lady? I've heard there is a secret Cthulhu plot linked to the first game. I finished both games and I'm so confused. I respect directors vision, but I don't think this should be so deep and complicated. I don't feel connected to this story, like this formless ending character, even though I got the Lilly ending which is super weird, because the game tells you from the very start that you are the guy actor.
ok so i got the rat queen ending and the woman, but one thing that baffles me is why does it cut to the chest at the end and just cut out? anyone have any ideas as to what is supposed to be in there? the mannequin heads was my only guess
games like this are not made for me. there so much talking through visual and interpretations of whats shown in such twisted ways, that 75% of that gets lost on me and the need to replay a horror game, that loses so much foundation if you know what will happen and thus has no effect anymore, isnt a good choice in my eyes, the genre doenst lend to that

Its pattern is as similar as previous series. I guess that the unknown bold man is loop ending , while Lily is true ending.
