  • A simple and straightforward video about removing the front seat of your vehicle. The methods are basically the same and applied on most vehicles. It only depends on what socket you need in removing the bolts.
    Car used for demonstration: Mazda 2 / Toyota Yaris R / Yaris iA / Scion iA 1.5L AT Variant Skyactiv-G F-P5

    Mazda info manual recommends and warns that to avoid accidental airbag deployment use the following order: 1) disconnect battery and wait at least 1 minute, after that, disconnect electrical socket under seat. 2) Remove seat bolts.
    I like your method since it is easier to manage the electrical socket, but the manual doesn’t recommend this.
    I’m about to do this today to recover from a drunk passenger incident last night. Ughh. 🤮🤢

      Can u drive the car without the front passenger seat in place? I'm taking a 2k miles road trip in my cx5 and would like to pull the front seat for extra storage. I'm concern that doing so.would disable all the air bags causing a safety hassard.

    Some vehicles have airbag in the seat, you should unplug battery maybe? I have cx 5 2018, can you help me? I want to do that cause I need to clean all the dust from down there

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  Год назад +3

      Yes, for car seat with an airbag, it is best to unplug the battery first before you remove any electrical socket underneath your seat. This prevents the chances of having a warning light in your dash and to prevent any unexpected things.
      Just remember after you unplug the battery, wait for a few minutes like 10-15 to make sure that there is no electrical current within the system. Then you can just remove your seat safely.
      When you are done cleaning, reinstall the seat and make sure all electrical connectors are properly connected. Make sure everything is secured before you plug in your battery.
      Thank you and take care.

    Tengo una duda. Si cambio los asientos de lugar. El asiento del copiloto al lugar del piloto. Debería funcionar la electrónica del asiento?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  5 месяцев назад

      No lo he intentado. Puede funcionar, pero la mayoría de las veces puede que no funcione, ya que el asiento del conductor y el asiento del pasajero tienen una configuración electrónica diferente para el indicador del cinturón de seguridad y las bolsas de aire (si las tienen).
      In English translation:
      I haven't tried. It may work, but most of the time it may not work, as the driver's seat and passenger seat has different electronic configuration for the seatbelt indicator and airbags (if they have them).

    I have a 2007 CX-7 and one bolt that mounts the driver’s seat rail (rear left) to the floor has a badly stripped (rounded) hex head. I’m going to use an extractor socket to remove it and will need to replace it. I’m in the USA, and the hex is/was 14mm. Are seat mounting bolts fairly universal? What kind of bolt and/or part number should I look for to replace it?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  8 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not that sure if they are similar to others. One of the ways is to get another seat mounting bolt as sample to buy a replacement bolt. Another one is to go to the dealership to buy that bolt. Here is a part number that I found on the net. Although, I'm not sure if this would apply and correct for your vehicle.
      Part Number: 9YA0-21-079
      Hope this helps. Thank you and take care.

    Hi I want to move Cx5 2022 Akira to 2023 maxx sport . But I don’t know about electric socket? Because I have manual car seat..please advise me..

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  5 месяцев назад

      Is it about changing seats? If your car happens to have a manual car seat and planning to swap it with an electronic seat, then you can just simply swap the seat itself. It could be complicated for modern vehicles to make an electrical harness for the seat. Older cars have electric seats that are wired into the chassis and instrument panel, sometimes even on the door actuator. Newer cars could be wired into different modules and ECU.

    Hey is there another connector for the heated seat or is it the connector in the video do you think the connector for heat dead seat and air bag are seperate?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  6 месяцев назад

      Sorry. In my case, I don't have airbags or heater on the seats. The connector that you saw on the video is for the seatbelt sensor. I haven't handled the same vehicle with an airbag or heater. If there would be one, Probably, the airbag and heater would be on the same connector since that piece has a lot of slots for additional wires.

    Kann man bei mazda cx5 2020 ein normal Sitz mit einem elektronischen Sitz ersetzen?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 месяца назад

      Ja, das können Sie, aber es wäre schwierig. Besser wäre es, wenn Sie ein Servicehandbuch für die Schaltpläne haben. Manchmal können elektronische Sitze mit verschiedenen Modulen verbunden werden, um unterschiedliches Zubehör des Sitzes zum Laufen zu bringen.
      In English translation:
      Yes you can, but it would be difficult. It would be better if you have a service manual for the wire diagrams. Sometimes, electronic seats can be linked to different modules to make different accessories of the seat work.

      Try to check underneath, perhaps something is stopping the railings to move back and forth. There might be a coin or something that is stuck in between the railings.

      @DraftProject  Год назад

      @@Edgar-s1 This could be a bit tricky. Not a good thing to force it all the way up. Perhaps it would be a good idea to remove the seat from the car and disassemble the side cover to check the gearings. There you will see if something is hindering the gears from moving.
