I am a 31 year old who bought his first car. A jimny…. I know it’s a bit small… it’s not fast… it has its shortcomings… but I wake up every day with a smile that I have a very capable little off-road car. I’m also very fond of hills…. So I am more than happy that i bought jimny. Mileage gives me motivation to earn more money 😂. But I genuinely don’t regret my decision. I love my car.
For those who know what this machine really is....tell me if you don't feel like as if you've earned it. I'm delighted everytime I'm in....and in a chance... once out. Play some mods and you have the legacy of the best that any terrain ever had.
I have a 2022 3-door Jimny and an agree with everything you say. No, it’s not a car for everyone, but it is a car for the ones who want an honest and very capable 4x4 off-roader that is easily driven as a daily driver. On top of that it is highly customizable to suit any needs of any owner. My Jimny will be the last car I own. I will take care of it so my youngest son inherit it when I’m gone.
The car is honest, the marketing hyped it up as something it was not meant to be. This is a great car to save for the future generation. They will love it, grow up with it and, one day, own and enjoy it. This is the beginning of a long love story ❤
11500km in 4 months. Me and my family loving it. keeping aside Suzuki blunder on pricing... Its a car that will last decades and age like wine. I do not worry anymore driving anywhere around India. No regrets ! Thanks for another wonder video with honest details.
@@Mak-007 I would like to buy one but given the low sales figures there's a good chance that it can be discontinued and then there may be problems with spare parts. Without availability of spares, although it's made to last, it won't
@dipeshbanerjee6009 The 4 door export will continue even if Indian market doesn't buy in numbers. I am not concerned about parts as there are many discontinued models in the market today. This is a 4 seater legally, it was never meant to be a mass sale car.
Thanks Guru! You have brought forth what other so called "esteemed auto journalists" would never dare to do. You have called out Maruti & made mincemeat of their pricing, branding & product positioning policies. This review of yours resonates with all of us, Jimny owners. Thanks once again 😊
@@gsrox2007 actually if Maruti doesn't allow you in future review, that will only cement the fact that you were absolutely right in your Jimny assessment! :-)
That statement about calling it a Gypsy... pure genius. Up in the mountains, in Lauhul, Spiti and Many places in Ladakh, the Gypsy was go to car thru the seasons. Now it's being replaced by the Jimny. So calling it a Gypsy woild have been brilliant 👍🏽
I agree!! 2010 Gypsy brand new and then 2023 Jimny brand new. All used cars in between. That is a picture of me with my modded Gypsy ❤ Thanks for the support and encouragement!
Totally agreed what you have said. Maruti has laid us down who were over enthusiastic and brought the Jimny at such a high price. Really felt cheated. Rightly said that Maruti should compensate these customers by providing some upgrade.
Super ! Your honesty is simply fantastic. In fact, it is your video that helped me decide to get a Jimny Alpha AT during the Dec 23 discount session. Thanks for being the voice of the community. The issues you have brought out have also been noticed by me. The car sage to the right, noticed it in the workshop during my second service on 06 Jul 24. The SA agreed, the technicians also noticed it, but was attributed to the slightly heavy biolt technician in the driver seat. Yes, it did stabilize on an even keel after ho got down. I made it a point to check the Bangle on my rear PS, however, since I have not gone off tarmac in 6 months, no such ring was observed. MSIL should listen to you and make a refund. Maybe throw in some extra warranty, service costs as reimbursement, etc. Maybe some free accessories ! They did give a lot with the thunder edition that I have. I was in two minds about the "Summit Seeker" decals, but it kinda looks good now. Helps differentiate my Jimny from the rest of the lot, even a heavily modded THAR ! Much that I dislike the Auto Start Stop, it is as convenient to depress one switch after starting, has become an SOP for me now. If you forget, you will not forget again, once it activates and irritates you ! I'm keeping the stock tyres and they are super quite, light and comfortable. Also, I feel the steering weighs down with these thick and heavy tyres. I do use the throttle to accelerate and "make" it upshift, to 3 and 4 as I wish. The Jimny returns about 10-11 in Bhopal city usage. Have got 15.15 kpl on a Bhopal-Mandu-Bhopal trip (TFtoTF) and 13.7 kpl on a Bhopal-Pachmarhi-Bhopal trip. Will be going to Indore and Ujjain shortly, will post kpl post trip. Very, very comfortable car, ultra smooth engine and gearbox and still a head turner in my area and city till date. The THAR is synonymous with "chaapris" and their videos on the internet are proof enough.
Thanks for the report Sandeep. Anything 10+ is good fuel efficiency. The problem for me is I do some off road driving every weekend and the average drops to 6/7. Getting the mid numbers back up after that is difficult. I echo your thoughts on the comfort and refinement. Shame that so many people put road presence and mean looks above practicality and efficiency. Thank you for your support and encouragement ❤
@@Love4Bharat Got a combined average of 12.7 kpl (incl about 60 km in city, daily traffic) for onward Bhopal-Indore-Ujjain leg. The return was straight Ujjain-Bhopal, in which the Jimny returned 15.45 kpl, all measured TF to TF. The display was showing 16.2 kpl on the return leg. I'm truly impressed.
This is my first time on your channel and it's easily one of the most practical no nonsense real world review I've come across in a long time!! Keep it up bro!!

Dear Guru, Wow, what a useful video for anyone, whether a Jimny owner or a potential one. I'm seriously considering buying a Jimny Zeta AT.. and you have helped me in that process. My first video of yours, and you hv got a new subscriber today. You're a solid no-nonsense honest person, with a good heart. I read your apprehension... I feel on the contrary MarutiSuzuki should take you on as a technical consultant and head of customer communication. Am sure you will do them a world of good, and earn them genuine Jimny customers. I must add that it's great on Maruti's part that they came down to Chennai to analyse the technical issue, still open. 22 years in South Chennai - now back in NCR - I can relate to the overall ambience and feel of the roads, environment etc in the video. Thanks so much Guru.
What an awesome video. Shows you have petrol in your veins. Quite comprehensive for a fanboy and blunt in your cribbing too. Brought me fond memories one of the earliest green gypsies my dad brought home from his office in kohima in 1986...
There are very few automobile reviewers like you in India. Kudos and thanks to you as I also bought throttle controller EVC X9 for my car after watching your previous review of Jimny
Recently took my Jimny from Jammu to Chandigarh and back. It gave 18 kmpl and I was shocked. I bought the Jimny after getting inspired by you and yes even I feel my lifestyle has elevated after getting the Jimny. I did face a lot of issues regarding the wheel alignment and the service centre people were not very supportive but I got it fixed and will keep fixing it. Also I love your reviews man. Hope to see more content from you.
@@gsrox2007 Sir at first they were very reluctant and they kept saying that since you have upgraded the wheels we can’t help you. I lost my cool and I rang up regional head and I told him that my issue is not being resolved. Then he told me that you have upgraded the wheels that’s why it’s happening. I asked them to bring the demo Jimny and replace the wheels, they did that and the alignment was still out. Finally they called some engineer from other state and they did alignment and steering angle sensor reset and now my alignment is perfect.
@@gsrox2007 the service centre people have a theory which I feel is completely wrong . According to them the vehicle should go straight for some seconds. It’s completely false my cars go straight as long as the road is , they go straight. I have somehow managed to maintain my father’s s 97 esteem and even that goes straight. The second issue that I faced around 5000 km in my Jimny was steering wobble when I was pressing breaks gradually. I got the wheels balanced again at 5000, the problem got rectified. Despite all this I am loving the Jimny. I drive it everyday to work.
I'm not a big fan, but the proper 4wd with the narrow body is great practical choice for me. They need some bare bones versions too for much cheaper, that would draw a lot more people and have a loyal following for decades to come.
It's the best review so far ......honest and just the way any reviews should be ......without being apologetic. I have subscribed to your channel and wish to see more such dare bare reviews in the future .....
Very useful info. Thank you. That offroad clip where you were following the Pajero should remind us to always have a fire extinguisher and recovery strap handy.
Great post mortem, well informed technical issues and no nonsense influencer hyperbole. Puts auto journalists to shame. Will be nice to hear what Maruti Engineers are going to do about the prop shaft damages. Great work, nicely scripted. Thx!
Waiting for them to get back to me since 21st March 2024. Should I expect them to do anything about it? It is an easy fix but for some reason they seem to be delaying the execution of the fix.
Thank you so much Amit!! Glad you enjoyed this video. I have several other videos here on Motoroids about the Jimny and also the Gurkha 5-door for you to check out. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement!
Knowing about such a serious technical issue which Maruti has not addressed so-far, I cancelled my booking although the offer was too tempting. Thank you for such a beautiful review which you have said rightly that nobody else will tell.
If they had a fix, they would have given you long back. They are now clearing stocks , and prefered to maintain silence. I consider it a lot of hard earned money even after discount. I restrained myself from this impulsive buy ignoring what my heart says . Maruti probably taking chance for next 5 years till the extended warranty. After that the buyers are on their own. I believe you have contacts inside Maruti, have they rectified in the current built cars ? I thank you from my heart to save me from future agony.
Absolutely true, every single word you said. They really got the premium crap all wrong. This was never designed to be luxurious. It's a simple, tough as nails, 4wd. And that's why people buy it. It is not meant to be bagged & have 21" rims slapped on either. Anyway, thanks for putting up an honest video.
I really started to question my observations when the pricing was announced. I assumed I was the idiot because surely Maruti wouldn't make such a colossal blunder. I was right, they were wrong and I doubted myself!
The prop-shaft hitting the chassis is a deal breaker and a serious concern. Yeah, I can definitely go for work around and jugard, but Maruti's stance of not doing a recall or for that matter, not updating you about the outcome of their findings, is a concern. The majority of people are buying Jimny now, is because of the price cut. Its mostly going to end up for city slickers. Same way as the Thar 4*2. The Thar however has some flex. I think the final nail in the coffin for Jimny is going to be when Mahindra launches a 5 door Thar 4*2.
5-door Thar could be here as early as next month. Yes it is very concerning that Maruti are not issuing a fix with urgency. Something like this is enough to halt production until it is resolved. I guess the shareholders are glad I don't run the factory 😂
@@gsrox2007 The prop-shaft issue, is a good case of Class action suit. If not rectified now, Maruti might end up looking at a very expensive damage settlement. Besides, its a safety concern.
This turned out to be a video Jimny owners globally should watch, top tips and analysis! The brake vacuum tip will probably save some hairy moments for those lugging it to Ladakh. Is the prop shaft part number the same on the 3 door version? I would wager money its the extended wheelbase version that sees this issue.
Thanks for the support and encouragement ❤ Bangle-gate is exclusive to the 5-door Jimny "XL". Adequate clearance was not factored into the design under dynamic conditions. With the bump stops removed the chassis should not contact the running gear. This is a gross error by Suzuki/MSIL.
Good one my friend. Indeed those taller bump-stops made of higher density rubber is a good upgrade to do I think. It is true that the Jimny makes a noticeable thud when crossing speed breakers and things. I’m actually upgrading the bump stops soon and am hoping it will solve that thud. Regarding the ‘listing’ towards the driver side, this is an issue also in the Gypsy. Probably because the differentials are off centre. Saying that, let me drive my Jimny a little longer and see if this listing happens.
A good review with good opinions. Friendly reminder … Please note that ‘chance’ is when you talk about something positive. ‘Risk’ is when you’re talking about bout something negative.
Good honest review Guru. Waiting for more content from you. P.S: Your fuel economy drop could be due to the increase in ethanol% in petrol of recent. Its pretty much E20 everywhere now no matter if you get 95 or higher octane even.
Loved the video, especially the last part about the pricing. I was one of the 'First to Book' & one of the "First to Cancel" all due to the Exorbitant Pricing which Maruti truly Mucked Up and still Did/Will not admit their Blunder, instead ARROGANCE all the way, even to date. As a person who had owned a 4-5 Gypsy vehicles in my life time, I had also predicted sales of 15,000 in the initial period and then a TRICKLE, true to form and a mileage of 8-9kms per litre which the Gypsy gave and with 5-8 seats - NOT THE FOUR [4] that the Jimny offers. Now for the same money (without the off-road) an MG Hector with 5-7 Seats would be a better bet 😉, at least you get ALL THE CREATURE COMFORTS 😊. How Maruti Hyped the Vehicle/Mileage, then kept us all WAITING WAITING from the Launch to the Delivery Day for what? Shame on you Maruti....
Good review !!! Yes Maruti has made a big mistake by higher pricing and promoting Jimny as off-road vehicle which is main reason the sales took a deep dip, pray that Jimny should not be a lost gem in Indian market and may be a proper ad on Jimny connected with day to day drive , highway drive and last off road with family will be good idea.
I can't blame them for hyping the off-road capabilities. I just wish they had been less MBA driven and had a finger on the pulse of the enthusiasts in India. 10-15L on road would have been slightly less shocking and the initial sales would have been better. Ultimately it would have tapered off to 250 units a month and sustained at 150-200 long term. They have huge export commitments to keep the production line busy.
Guru yet another awesome video just spiting out facts ❤ Even I’m disappointed with Suzuki giving a 3 lakh discount on the Jimny just after we've made our purchase. Just imagine the frustration of Jimny owners who paid full price with their hard-earned money and took out loans. Suzuki should do something to earn back the brand loyalty and trust of their fans. The discounted price should have been the launch price!
They are a huge corporation. They can afford to piss off 100000 people. Sad but true... Next time I buy a Maruti it will be when it is heavily discounted or not at all.
Fantastic review. As jimny owner i feel you are spot on with the review. Sincerely wish maruti compensates with the initial jimny owners with some thing..... In some way.!
Prospective Jimny buyer. Is there a way to track the bangle problem apart from searching on the net. I asked the dealer and he has no clue. Apart from the thread in team-bhp, i see no other article on this. Thanks for all the technical insights and knowledge sharing. Helps newbies like me get a sense of the complexities involved.
Yes jugaad is possible but what we need is an engineered and tested fix from Maruti. This will be a longer bump stop combined with slightly taller suspension and stiffer springs + caster correction and panhard rod correction. There's no reason why consumers need to be running around trying to figure this out. Maruti needs to step up!
My city fuel efficiency in Bangalore in my automatic with my AC always on is 11 kmpl!!! My dad is getting slightly better, 13 kmpl if I remember correctly, in his manual in small town + village driving. Both cars are in stock condition. And that sag on the right is not seen on either of our cars.
I am using jimny for past 45000km in stock condition and done many offroading in kerala still no technical issues.. suspension is soft hitting bottom many times during offroad with 5 people like that got some scratches and damages..
Do you also have the prop shaft issue? Please raise an official complaint with the service center. Love Kerala! Love the terrain and weather there ❤ Hope to drive some trails with the KL Jimnys soon 💪🏾🙏🏽
Lovely review. During the recent first service of my Jimny, I raised the prop shaft issue in my vehicle. The SA informed that he checked chassis # in the system and my vehicle is not impacted. Is this true that this issue is batch specific and not vehicle related? Any idea on this please?
The EVC should be programmed to correct the 2nd to 3rd shift. It either needs to alter the hydraulic pressure or the timing. Prop-shaft bump is likely chassis flex under loads, i.e. under engineered.
You said it right! This is really disappointing for loyal Suzuki customers. Suzuki announced a big discount in 2 months gap after I bought Suzuki Jiminy for the sticker price. I didn’t get a single rupee discount during purchase of Suzuki Jimny and they created so much of hype. I shared my concern with Suzuki mentioning that they just devalued my car in 2 months of purchase by announcing a huge discount of Rs.2-3 lakhs in the name of stock clearance. As usual no response from Suzuki and nexa dealer just highlighting the T&C we agree during purchase of the car. Still I am paying my huge car loan but the value of the car is just decreasing day by day due to Suzuki’s new marketing strategy which is unfortunate. I am really feeling bad and highly disappointed as a loyal Suzuki customer as my hard earned money is gone…. I don’t think in future I will go for Maruti Suzuki cars or recommend to some one…... If Suzuki is a responsible company & feeling guilty they should refund Rs.2-3 lakhs to its customers who bought Jiminy initially with higher price /sticker price before announcing the discount. Hope Suzuki as a company understands their customer concerns and take action accordingly….
😂 That's hilarious. I wish my theory is real. Maruti published the dates for which showroom would have the Jimny and made it easier for Mahindra to know where to park the Thar 😂😂
Yes it is in the manual but how many will keep that in mind when they are out on a trail and get stuck with grass beneath the car. It is something I've never encountered before. Hundreds of cars were gutted at the Bangalore air show for the same reason. They were parked in grass tall enough to touch the exhaust and a few cars ignited and a chain reaction began.
@@gsrox2007 If you are saying that not many people read the manual, you are very right. Accroding to me, that's the problem, not the grass. But, I know I may seem impractical to some.
I think you are seeing it in black and white. You never know where you are going to get stuck off road and if there is going to be dry grass under the vehicle or not. You don't plan for these things and no amount of theoretical / book knowledge would have made a difference here.
Superbly Explained. Very educational, concise and clearly explained. I am extremely impressed and love the whole experience of the explanation. Please do many more to help us learn and take a calculated decision.😊
thanks, this indeed will push me towards jimmy. i agree it should have been named gypsy! Jimmy is well recogniced in Australia, EU, etc, relativly unheard of by the massess in india!
Gypsy! Absolute truth! The name should have been this! I told it to the sales representative when I test drove it! It would have carried a lot of emotions and legacy which could have resulted in a bit more sales!
@@Raghumudipu I am sure many feel the same way. You cannot impose a legacy on a region. Jimny will now forever be known as "discount waala gaadi". So much for legacy!
Was persuing Jimny right from its news at Moto expo to its media launch drive which happened at my hometown Dehradun. Was deeply disappointed at pricing and irritated at Maruti Suzuki honchos who treated potential buyers as poor fellows who do not deserve so called premium lifestyle product. I calculated back the pricing from the Kei Jimny that is sold at Japan and calculated the Indian cost by offsetting the currency exchange value and keeping in mind that the Japanese version has 0.6 ltr turbo and ADAS feature of 3 door Kei Japanese Jimny with longer 5 door Indian Jimny and I wasn't surprised to find that Jimny was still cheaper in Japan than India by 2 to 2.5 lakhs exshowroom. So now when the discounts have taken care of bruised egoes of Maruti Suzuki product position and pricing decision makers, I am finally buying one with even more price correction through discount mode that I gave a miss during last December Thunder edition offering because of my resentment towards Company.
They treated their customers really poorly. Many were forced to buy rubbish accessories and some of my friends who own Jimnys were even shouted at by certain dealers. Serves them all right. You cannot mistreat customers and expect it to not bite you in the ass. Glad you decided to go for it. The car is innocent ❤
I'm interested to see how the Jimny will fare after the launch of the 5 door thar. Currently, pretty much every thar I've seen is used as a secondary vehicle and never as a primary one, might be because it's a three door and also because of the mediocre highway manners. 5 door will supposedly have better on road manners and it might be practical enough to be used as a primary vehicle. Let's see.
We will know soon I guess. Waiting for the invite and I hope I get to do the review of the Thar 5 door. Mahindra will ensure it hurts Maruti. They like rubbing salt into the wounds. You can expect 2wd and 4wd variants and the 2wd 5-door thar will be very hard to beat on price, looks, space and practicality. I think the Jimny is in big BIG trouble. That might explain the panic selling happening now.
Pretty much the same thing but the throttle tuner allows multiple maps for different conditions rather than one map baked in on the ecu. It managed to differentiate itself with the ability to switch maps on the go via the physical interface or a phone app. Finally the lock mode is a theft deterrent.
@@Fytttttd understand what it does. when you press accelerator pedal 10% then throttle plate can be set to open 20% instead of 10%, or whatever the setting. It just changed the reaction of throttle plate with respect to accelerator pedal. You don't gain any power.
@@branduncensored does that inflict any negative impact on the unit as a whole or a chance of error signalling leading to sudden gain in pickup or accident ?
Marginally. You would need to install diff breathers, gearbox breathers and transfer case breathers to be fully safe. There's still the alternator waterproofing which is something I don't know a lot about.
This issue is a deal breaker. Can live with a few minor issues, but your & others safety can't be compromised. @gsrox2007 Please consider doing a specific video around this issue with inputs from folks who have faced it. Companies just want to get away with anything since it's India, will they do this in any other country?
very well said sir , maruti is responsible for the blunder . it was nice meeting you at the bangalore rock and road meet sir . hope maruti sees this vlog of urs and understand what went wrong . tc sir , see u soon.
I always believed that the Jimmy should have been left OG, that is the short wheelbase three door version. The long wheelbase doesn’t appeal to the enthusiast and the diminutive scale doesn’t appeal to the intimidation factor audience (thar customers) the fuel efficiency alienates the family single car buyers.
Yup a neither here nor there situation. But I'll tell you what, I need this extra space for my photography gear. Can't imagine living with the 3-door. It would be too impractical.
Hi ! Guru.. thanks again for this... I bought a jimny after watching your reassuring videos... I got an insane discount on a 2023 model (I also exchanged our 2nd car which was a venue imt turbo S(O)). Our primary car is a Nexon diesel top model 3 years old now and still kicking like a new one . Jimny was a dream since 10 years and I have atleast checked that box. With so much being talked about the niggles and some serious issues, I started with an alignment issue since day 1. I got it rectified with a lot of hassle.... It seems to have gone. However no one seems to be talking about it as much.... This car starts steering on either sides too quick depending on the angle of the road .. so every road would have some left or right leaning angle and it pushes jimny accordingly on either of the sides rather too quick than regular cars. I have 2 questions here ... Should I really get and EVCx or EVC ? 2ndly do you also experience that you have to keep holding or rather keep fiddling with the steering every now and again when there is a change in road angle or it keeps going straight. The steering some times comes in exact centre on a straight road... On other times i would pull it right or left slightly. Is it because of the freeplay in the steering ?
All mrcbt steerings exhibit this. It is much better in the Jimny compared to the other cars. We've forgotten how to align solid axle ckbj vehicles. I didn't touch the factory alignment when I changed to 215 tires and I won't touch it until it goes out of whack.
@@gsrox2007 ok... Got it... Thanks again. Also in case you need to in future ... There are Gypsy-experts, who are able to handle the alignment issues better than any other service centres. My Suzuki service shop guys said that had they not been able to do it... They would have taken it to a specific gypsy expert workshop ... So this is a tip for all Jimny owners ... Find gypsy experts in your town if you want perfect steering alignment 🙏
@@gsrox2007 ya I purchased an AT Alpha... Seeing that big smile on your face in the review 😄. Nowadays jimny has become my primary car because of the convenience factor of automatic. Plus everyone keeps looking at the car in awe.... I seriously doubt intentions of those who rejected it's road presence... I get it each one has his own preference but jimny is quite democratically appealing 😄 I am convinced... People stop me and ask it's price it's ride experience.... They have stopped me and said it's a such a beauty man congrats 😄. Touchwood ! Jimny does make you 😊
Thx for the info, I had faced the brakes issue when I went to kodai, there was a huge traffic through the ghats, so I have switched off the engine frequently then after starting within few seconds I had apply emergency braking noticed vehicle didn’t stopped as expected had a close call to hit other vehicle. I thing here the RPM was low and enough vacuum wouldn’t have created!!!
@@gsrox2007 it’s not at low altitudes, the situation I faced is on high altitudes itself, after return back I have informed service centre they removed the brake fluid and refilled it but no noticeable change. Just let me know the reason and the solution if any . Thx for your response
@@Kirukku_Kirukku I meant lower than 12000 feet. Kodai is 6000-7000ft. Anuj suggests turning off auto start stop and following the same high altitude procedure of raising rpm for a few seconds before setting off. Test breaking performance from time to time. Use lower gears as much as possible so the rpm stays high.
Anuj Purohit raised this issue and MSIL basically told him "It is in the user manual", which is NOT provided to the customers on purchase of a new Jimny. What a sick joke! 😂
I have upgraded my suspension to ironman but i still face issue of lean on towards driverside.. i think its not something which has to do with suspension, its perfectly aligned ..
That's a great input. Another friend from Mumbai called me with the same input. While I think this needs to be factored into the spring ratings and length, it seems to be caused by the heavier components biased to the right side of the vehicle. Again this needs to be studied more closely.
We need a device that sends an alert to our phone if the 4WD system is engaged. I have read in TeamBhp that, when they received the car back from service, 4L was engaged. There is no way to check if the 4WD mechanism was abused or sustained any damage.
I want to be compensated in cash so I can spend on mods. A Maruti generally doesn't need an extended warranty. Well made and affordable spares and service. Cash please 😂
This guy's discussion is on another level, I mean I haven't heard any other channel speak in such detail about the very same car that's being marketed in India.
Drift to the left is because of the slope in the road (usually). The roads slope left to drain water. If you are experiencing sharp pull to the left then it is not normal. I have a gentle pull to the left maybe 1m left every 100m forward. This is not too bad and I don't want to mess with it.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. Let's see if I get to review another Maruti vehicle after this 😂
@@gsrox2007 actually if Maruti doesn't allow you in future review, that will only cement the fact that you were absolutely right in your Jimny assessment! :-)
Thanks guys ❤ I tried to find a fair balance but this one hit too close to home for me 😢
That statement about calling it a Gypsy... pure genius.
That is a picture of me with my modded Gypsy ❤

Why its a 4 door version of 2door or 3door jimny
Watching this again .. your video should be a must watch for all Jimmy owners ! Highlights safety issues that all need to be aware of ! Well done .
Thank you sirji ❤ I appreciate the support!
Totally agreed what you have said. Maruti has laid us down who were over enthusiastic and brought the Jimny at such a high price. Really felt cheated. Rightly said that Maruti should compensate these customers by providing some upgrade.
Money back is the only solution. Had this happened in Japan we would be seeing a public apology by those responsible and compensation.
@@InamJamil-w2p +1. Maruti let down its most loyal customers!
Absolutely gutted by the price cut!!
Owned the very first Jimny in my city..
now my friends/family members make fun.
Keep posting the average of next two trips. Tank to tank? Or
@@Love4Bharat Got a combined average of 12.7 kpl (incl about 60 km in city, daily traffic) for onward Bhopal-Indore-Ujjain leg. Dear Guru,
Wow, what a useful video for anyone, whether a Jimny owner or a potential one.
Thank you for the ❤ and support Rajeev bhai. Please do visit Chennai again with you Jimny and I will take you to my favourite off road spots.
What an awesome video. Shows you have petrol in your veins. Quite comprehensive for a fanboy and blunt in your cribbing too. Brought me fond memories one of the earliest green gypsies my dad brought home from his office in kohima in 1986...
Thanks for the ❤ and yes! Gypsy forever!
One of the best review and reality shown 🤜🏻. Looking forward to buy this car.
Brilliantly done! So articulate and honest. You are a true off road fanboy who knows his machines - Thanks for sharing, you have helped me immensely 👍
Thank you Jeb! I am glad you found it useful ❤
There are very few automobile reviewers like you in India. Kudos and thanks to you as I also bought throttle controller EVC X9 for my car after watching your previous review of Jimny
Thanks for the ❤ and support!! Hope you are enjoying the throttle tuner and your jimny!
The technical content in your video is impressive!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it ❤
Recently took my Jimny from Jammu to Chandigarh and back.
Thank you for the ❤ Kevin! Glad to see you enjoying your ride the way it was meant to be. 18kpl is impressive indeed 😮
How did you sort out the wheel alignment issue? Let us know.
This is already very bare bones don't you think? They just got greedy!
@@gsrox2007 10 lakh for a zeta is ok value not great, but a sub 9 lakh sigma with Power steering and AC will make an excellent workhorse.

Great post mortem, well informed technical issues and no nonsense influencer hyperbole. Puts auto journalists to shame. Will be nice to hear what Maruti Engineers are going to do about the prop shaft damages. Great work, nicely scripted. Thx!
Thank you for the ❤ and support. I'm eagerly waiting to hear what Maruti does to fix these issues.
I wouldn't hold my breath though...
3-4000 Jimny are being exported from india every month. With the current discounts this car is awesome value.
Agreed 100%
Fantastic as usual, Guru, the prop shaft problem alone can be a potential deal breaker, hope Maruti tunes into this video
Waiting for them to get back to me since 21st March 2024. Should I expect them to do anything about it?
It is an easy fix but for some reason they seem to be delaying the execution of the fix.
Why RUclips showed me your video today… you guys are the genius with whom it’s worth spending time..🎉
Thank you so much Amit!!
Sorry to hear that but it is what it is. Let's see if Maruti issues a fix.
Thank you for making this video. It not only shows your love for the jimny but also your unbiased nature towards the car. ❤JIMNY
Appreciate it! Cheers ❤
This is what true expertise sounds like
Why thank you kind sir!❤
Thanks for the support and encouragement ❤
Bangle-gate is exclusive to the 5-door Jimny "XL". Adequate clearance was not factored into the design under dynamic conditions. With the bump stops removed the chassis should not contact the running gear. This is a gross error by Suzuki/MSIL.
Very grateful and impressed, well done sir.
This was one of the best user reviews I've ever seen. This one gives good competition to Doug Demuro videos. Kudos brother.
Wow, thanks!
This is so detailed. thanks a ton, appreciate such technical and rich content. !
I'm so glad you found this useful. Thanks for the ❤

One of the last dual live axle 4Wd’s too! It’s perfect snall and reliable .
Absolutely! I've aged trying to explain this to people. Marketing for big and bad is winning the argument.
Thanks for the ❤ and support. 🤛🏾 From another Gypsy owner. That's me with my mg413w 2010 in the video 😎
Guru yet another awesome video just spiting out facts ❤
Even I’m disappointed with Suzuki giving a 3 lakh discount on the Jimny just after we've made our purchase.
Let them know your displeasure in writing! Thank you for your support and encouragement!
Glad you liked the video! Thanks for the ❤
My city fuel efficiency in Bangalore in my automatic with my AC always on is 11 kmpl!!!
@@gsrox2007 No such issues..
Lovely review. During the recent first service of my Jimny, I raised the prop shaft issue in my vehicle. The SA informed that he checked chassis # in the system and my vehicle is not impacted. Is this true that this issue is batch specific and not vehicle related? Any idea on this please?
Thanks for the priceless experience
There's a price! Now you have to subscribe 😂
You missed a big one - steering wobble on braking at high speed. MSIL is replacing the kingpins and the rotors under warranty.
This is the latest issue and started cropping up after my video went live. This topic will be addressed in the next video.
Great and Honest video....Keep going!
Thank you sir ❤
Always!
now that you mentioned it, there was a thar parked outside one of delhi showroom as well during the jimny promotion
😂 That's hilarious. I wish my theory is real. Maruti published the dates for which showroom would have the Jimny and made it easier for Mahindra to know where to park the Thar 😂😂
13:00 this is given in the manual about the grass getting lit. They have already warned about it. Check page 6-11 in the manual for India.

@@gsrox2007 Better late than never! Maruti should compensate the initial buyers in one way or other! They should be big hearted!

Can you elaborate, which showroom ? Mine Alpha AT DT quoted at 13.70 Rana Motors.
That might explain the panic selling happening now.
i just edited the throttle table in the ecu as per my liking, works good.
Pretty much the same thing but the throttle tuner allows multiple maps for different conditions rather than one map baked in on the ecu. It managed to differentiate itself with the ability to switch maps on the go via the physical interface or a phone app. Finally the lock mode is a theft deterrent.
@@gsrox2007 Controller is not editing the numbers in the table. It is just sending false signal, which is not ideal solution.

We don't get the GWM Tank 300 in India 🥹
Yes my jimny still leans over to the right after 50mm iron man lift kit
Yes a few other Jimny owners have written in with the same feedback. More investigation is needed now!
Will installing a differential breather increase its water wading capacity given out as 300 mm? I am thinking primarily of flooded monsoon streets.
Marginally. You would need to install diff breathers, gearbox breathers and transfer case breathers to be fully safe. There's still the alternator waterproofing which is something I don't know a lot about.

EVCx is a must in the automatic. Manual Jimny you can skip. It helps but the effect is less prominent in the MT.
Touchwood ! Jimny does make you 😊
OE Bump stops and springs need to go on this ! They are shite . Good info on the brakes at high altitude.
Thank you! Indeed we need to see fixes soon.
with each video from you , i get more confidence to get one :)
Don't mind my opinions on the Discount. Please get one at these prices. It is a stunning vehicle for someone seeking to break the mould.
And thank you for your support and encouragement ❤
Thx for the info, I had faced the brakes issue when I went to kodai, there was a huge traffic through the ghats, so I have switched off the engine frequently then after starting within few seconds I had apply emergency braking noticed vehicle didn’t stopped as expected had a close call to hit other vehicle. I thing here the RPM was low and enough vacuum wouldn’t have created!!!
Wow! 😮 Didn't expect it to happen at low altitudes as well. I need to show this to Anuj and see what he thinks. Thanks for sharing!
@@gsrox2007 thx bro , let me try in that way , did you inform regarding this to Suzuki ? Any hope for permanent solution in future!!
Hi EVCX . where can we get that from
Excellent suggestions to Maruti, it will only increase the brand value of Jimny if they listened!
Thank you! Glad the video vibed with you ❤
Impressed with the technical info on the Jimny, thanks for putting out this video.
PS: 1:45 did i see a RE Test mule of the standard 650?
Nicely spotted!😂 They use this same stretch of road for their testing.
Oh and thank you for the ❤
We need a device that sends an alert to our phone if the 4WD system is engaged. I have read in TeamBhp that, when they received the car back from service, 4L was engaged. There is no way to check if the 4WD mechanism was abused or sustained any damage.
It shows up on the dashboard but I get your point. An audible alert should be adequate. I don't want Maruti knowing how often I use 4H or 4L 😂
I think 4H was engaged. It is impossible to not realise that 4L is engaged. 4H itself is very difficult to maneuver around non-slip surfaces.
Brilliant. Thanks
Gracias Amigo! ❤
Maruti can look at a simple extended warranty for the "original" lot of owners... That can build back the goodwill.
I want to be compensated in cash so I can spend on mods. A Maruti generally doesn't need an extended warranty. Well made and affordable spares and service.
Cash please 😂
Dude your are so cool with cars! 👍
This guy's discussion is on another level, I mean I haven't heard any other channel speak in such detail about the very same car that's being marketed in India.
Thank you kind sir ❤ 🙏🏽
Does any other Jimny owner experience car drifting towards left side?
Dealer has not been able to correct the alignment.
Drift to the left is because of the slope in the road (usually). The roads slope left to drain water. If you are experiencing sharp pull to the left then it is not normal. I have a gentle pull to the left maybe 1m left every 100m forward. This is not too bad and I don't want to mess with it.
My Jimny is my Heaven ❤
For me that would be Sangeetha filter coffee, RA Puram. But the Jimny comes close 😂
