As a owner of Jimny , your review is 100% accurate well done .
We had a mid 80’s Sidekick 4 door, it was the most honest vehicle we ever owned, slow as molasses, but on snowy roads or rough terrain it was unbeatable, we called it our lil goat! Everything you needed and absolutely nothing you didn’t!!!❤️
Love these Jimny's. I had the 3 door and now the 5 door. You don't need to modify a thing on this car to go explore Australia's 4x4 tracks. I left my 3 door completely stock including the tires which are just cheap highway terrains and crossed the Simpson Desert twice, stock canning route, cape york and did just about every 4x4 track in between. It never got stuck. The only time you really need to mod this car is if you're doing extreme off roading (off track driving as opposed to 4x4 tracks) They're just brilliant little bullet proof 4x4's and the 5 door gives that extra room to carry more kit. It's also notably more stable driving on corrugations given its longer wheelbase.
Spot on review! Manuals are so much better and your driving style is just like mine - Jimny owner!
Looks great in that colour, they are very popular in South Africa😊
Great video. True what you said about the roof, can definitely handle more than 30kg on the roof. That's also quite an arbitrary figure and suzuki have not even specified it in the owners manual. So it's a pretty vague/grey area. BUT, definitely dont overload the roof as a high CoG does negatively effect handling. Love the Boot shelf.
Great review thank you. I'm looking to sell my MR Triton GLS and get an XL Jimny.... your review was really helpful.
Nice bro i came from a 2021 BT50 SP
Not in the market to buy one but I love the Jimny’s look and it’s niche place in the market, was curious to hear an owners experience with it so great review, chill and relaxed
Awesome video Eric. It's on my consideration list so this is a brilliant resource!
That noise when taking off from first is on the 3 door aswell.
They replaced the tensioner under wty. The sound is still there.
I feel like id never be able to afford anything like this in my life but my god I want one 😢
Thought I was alone. 😂
Well done.. I would have said the same about mine. I have one 5 doors with MT, 1000 km and basically your thoughts covered what I think about this car. I am still getting use to the Manual Transmission since is so slow but It is what it is.
ive found it to be pretty zippy now that im used to it :)
Great review bro! I am looking to get one of these myself very soon. Thanks for the heads up on a few concerns
Some really good points.
Good honest review thanks 👍
I loved tour awesome review of this car, thank you, so very much!!!!
Great review thank you.
Great review! Thanks
Hey make really good info, Im looking at buying the 5 door (Auto) ,took one for a test drive yesterday, the Engine noise ? I think it was. It was quite noticeable on an acceleration sounded throaty , reminded me of the days of a 2 stroke bike ,is that normal. And not prying as such but what would be a ball park figure ,price approximately. drive out the door for the 5 Door Auto, open to any advice, tips etc on the 5 door ,cheers
Excellent!
I own 5 door as well same colour. One question did you get PPF done for ur car?
Good, straight to the point review. By the way, can you share the details about the Quadlock phone holder you installed? Thanks! 😊
hey just remove the rubber accessory hole cap and screw a quadlock phone holder on, i used the old one i used to attach to my motorbike handle
I'm thinking about trading in my 2023 Musso for a xl. Your thoughts?
As an owner of a 3-door I would have done the same with the front grill as you. 😁
Hi. Good review! May I know what brand is your roof rack ?
Its a tracklander, see my previous vid
What shade of paint have you painted those chrome inserts on front grill?
just black paint for graffiti bought from officeworks
Good info
4:29 I pasted a foam padding for my elbow over there as well.
did that as well
Where did you go for off roading in the video?? Thanks for the vid!
This track is toolangi forest, paul creek track
Yes, the positioning of reverse in the 6-th gear place is very bad. You can damage the gearwheels !
Not a "cheap" car.
Considering all the plastics, lack of hi-tech (which is great), poor seats... take away the great 4x4, and Suzuki reliability, it should not cost more than 40k euros.
You get practically the same, except for Suzuki known reliability with a Dacia Duster with Extreme 4x4 trim.
Hi all, after some info. I’m looking at buying the 5 door XL ,so chatting to the dealer in the yard I was looking at the chiffon ivory,he happened to mention this was “about $700” more with the black roof compared to the Jungle Green ,no black roof, does this sound correct or was he already jacking up the price. I can see nowhere were it mentioned this in any reviews. Cheers guys.
Yes, this is normal. The two tone Jimny comes with an extra price tag
Hey Eric, I am the same height as you. Do you find with the baby seat behind you make it difficult to change gears? I want the manual but thinking the auto will be easier with less leg room due to baby seat.
i find it fine! just no where to rest left foot when not shifting
I have got seat covers from Suzuki. These are airbag friendly.
30kg is dynamic safety load when using the car offroad
Great review,great car😊
i wish the manual Gimny's came with a 6 speed
Gteat review 👍👌
The biggest disadvantage of the Jimny is that the legal roof load capacity is only 30 kg, so the police may give you a ticket for such a nice roof rack.
@@Gracjusz10 ive loaded 80kgs on it and driven on and off road 500kms no worries, Suzuki just rate it to that for insurance purposes
Let’s take another look at 3 years. And again at 30 years
@@indeepeterhopwood8106 will be handing g this to my son in 10 years when he turns 18/19
As soon as you exceed the roof load limit your insurance is null and void.
Not just the roof. GVM. Same with any vehicle
Great run down Eric. Thanks for your long term views on your Jimny!
How would they know?
Bring these to the U.S 😢
It's too small for the USA and unsafe, but you have people riding bikes
@@josh3221ify So I currently have a newer brz and I heard they are getting banned in Europe because of how low they are. Laws are weird everywhere. I get it though don’t want to destroy pedestrians. I stopped riding motorcycles because I don’t trust other people.
Oh dumb question, what fuel is everyone using ,91,95,cheers
i tried 98 for a few weeks, feels like it revs up a lil faster, but i get more kms (about 30kms more) on 91
@@erichopham thanks mate,👍
You are so cute
J Wagon
Oof. You're lucky the car still runs after putting it into reverse while travelling at highway speeds.
A testament to the mighty Jim haha
Dude, get your transmission checked!!!😢
Bro wears flat cap with hoodie and drives suzuki jimny 🤣🤣
Gotta keep em on their toes
Nice video and thumbs up for being a professional abseiler
Hi Eric,
What did you use to paint over the chrome trim on the grill?
Looks good, want to know too
👍🍻
