It would have been a dream to see the Stones on their European Tour of 1967. They played 27 shows in less than a month in Sweden, West Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Poland, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Greece. It was one of the first times a rock band played a show in the Eastern Bloc. And I agree: Brian was a fashion icon and always looked cool af.

I jump on any precious footage from the Brian era. It was my impressionable era. They were so naughty and young as was I. Brian was so adorable and always dressed so dapper as their spokesperson. I 've written a similar comment elsewhere and all the RUclips children comments were negative and nasty, yet their parents weren't even born then either to know how this guy was hounded in the papers for his fashion and any comment they could get from him. He was a style icon and notable celebrity. My favourite era of the Stones.

You do prove the old adage: anyone who remembers the 60s wasn't really there. That would be the charitable explanation why you got everything mixed up in the previous thread. Alternatively, you could be just plain dumb.

Me too!! I agree. They were gorgeous and quite polished with Brian in their concerts with fans. Their latter albums were great in the 70s with great producers and Mick Taylors guitar skills but their live shows with Mick T then Ronnie were kind of a sloppy rock star joke. I dare anyone to name a concert where they acted professionally. The Beatles knew when to quit performing together. Each Beatle member shined on their own merit to this day. I'm sorry I loved the Rolling Stones but not one of them had a solo career that was even taken seriously.

The fact remains he founded the band, gave it its name and attitude on stage and off, brought into its music sounds rarely if ever heard in rock at the time (slide, dulcimer, sitar, recorder, marimba, melotron, etc.). I'm not disputing that Mick and Keith were the primary writers and leaders. However, to my ears, and this could be just a coincidence, post-1969 Stones music sounds corporate and repetitive. Suzanne Poisson Oldham was a fantastic manager and great for getting them started I think the problem with Brian was no one knew about addiction back then and how to help him and by all accounts he was not a nice person at all either the way he beat up women all the time and how he was with his own kids so he was kind of a monster, and he hadn’t given up drugs he was on drugs the night he died or was murdered the autopsy revealed he had drugs in his system not a lot but there was alcohol in his system so he was still using drugs. There’s lots of films and documentaries on him on RUclips where you can find out more about Brian Jones as you are new to him and the Rolling Stones

@@dondamon4669 I know BJ was going: "this oughta b good"!!! yep. OLDHAM got strung out on drugs 2. 19yrs of age, trying to manage a "BLUES DEMON"!!! that became THE ROLLING STONES, courtesy of Mr Brian Lewis Hopkins Jones. Upon THE BEATLES` success, certain members of stones wanted some of that devilish little kid rock n roll success. Jones knew better. Only for a minute, Jones said. Make a few bucks, then return 2 who we r: "a BLUES GROUP"!! nope. 2 factions in a band headed in opposite directions. u saw the results!!!!

The only great album after Brian is ITS ONLY ROCK AND ROLL.

No . The Stones have NEVER dragged a Mellotron up on stage with them (I wish!!!) If anything its Brian's Vox organ but I'm not even sure about that because I hear two guitars. Probably just a wash of an overloaded amp adding to the beautiful cacophony of sound up there. In any case, this version is incredible. taken from two sources. Keith's leads just before it switches to the second source 8:17-8:33 are fantastic. Love it. Must haver been unreal. Bill Wyman is also right on it!
