Wow. This was like stepping back in time to my teenager years and it's so sad because it's over and never coming back for me or the rolling stones but I wouldn't trade it for anything, I was so so lucky to have live through that period and was old enough to make it and young enough to still be here to brag about it
Same here! Rock and rolls best front man. I grew up listening to them and even did homework listening to all my Stones records. How I did that and still passed I'll never know...
Yeah this live version is probably the best ever. It was still so fresh and alive and angry!...it had an energy to it that although there have been good live versions since, none have really captured the lighting in a bottle like this one. This is one of my all time favorite live stones moments, and I'm pretty farmiliar with many of 'em...
I danced 💃🏿 into the new year that year.. the house played Shattered over and over.. most of the night.. we nearly came up with a choreographed dance step to this song..
It’s an amazingly constructed song in that it’s basically just one simple guitar riff but Mick’s vocal delivery and the imagery keeps me riveted all way through
Absolutely love hearing Keith singing lead; Micks back up vocals are on point. What a phenomenally groovy band who gave us the ‘ROLL’ with the Rock. Love the Stones forever!!💞 😻
The years go by, but Mick Jagger remains the same. A 20-year-old man who can not stand still just for a second while he's on stage. Love from Greece 🇬🇷 Rolling stones.
I'm a huge Stones fan and they are the Michael Jordan or rock bands. The Stones are #1. But I think Aerosmith is the Kobe Bryant of rock bands, and Steve Tyler is an even better front man than Mic, and I've seen them both live.
and now at 80 years old , NO ONE moves like him at that age i mean i would think he would be just worn out but he keeps in shape so he isnt a fool up there
You're right: Charlie's drumming smokes on Happy. The passion and energy of Mick and Keith on the tune is outrageous! The dynamics of Keith's playing on Midnight Rambler is virtuoso. What touch!
All the members of the band are gold and together created the best of the best. I keep listening to their amazing songs and my kids love them too. Don't let 60s-70s rock music die.
29:05 What Mick plays here is simply amazing. I saw the stones twice and I like Ronnie too, but it would be such an amazing thing to see them play one last time together with Mick Taylor on a third guitar
Mick Taylor had been a Guest on the 2012-2013 GRRR tour. And yes it was amazing to hear and see him play with the Stones again! They all sounded great together. He didn't play on every song tho but thats what being a guest is all about! Stones Rule!
We could hope for that BUT Now that Charlie is gone, I think The Stones should make their Last Tour Their "LAST TIME".. They ALL Need 2 Enjoy Life and Not catch COVID......
@@terasasanders8155 Mick Jagger by his own account is something of a split personality - domesticated and passive while off-duty at home, and a driven dynamo while in working and performing mode. His is a unique personality that thrives on hard work, challenges and adversity. (He's also a greedy bastard and that turned Keith off.) But I doubt that Mick could ever permanently "retire" from his career. If The Stones ever call it a day (which they'll eventually do sooner or later), I'm sure that Mick will carry on as a performer in the business in one way or another. It's his life, and the arenaline rush of performing (and the love of making big money) which has kept him going for a lifetime. Some people can retire gracefully and it's the death of other people. He revealed long ago to Dick Cavett when asked if he could continue as a rocker into his 60's and Jagger replied, "Yeah, easily." ruclips.net/video/Xx9nA0RHvqg/видео.html The rest is history. Rock on.
@@larrya7360 This version is smokin' for sure. But I gotta give the win still to the Get Yer Ya-Yas version. That was pretty much the ONLY song on that album that wasn't goosed up completely live on that recording, and it just kills. I think the GYYYO version of Midnight Rambler is the gold standard by which all other versions are judged. But this one...I gotta say is a VERY close #2!! :D
@@chilecayenne I loved the tempo on the GYYYO version and the ending was the best ever, but I always wondered if there weren’t production tricks that balanced out Mick’s and Keith’s guitars. Plus, GYYYO was the first version I heard and therefore the standard by which I measured all other versions. All the Stones’ live recordings rock so much harder than the studio versions. Yet I’ve never heard a live version of Satisfaction that I thought held a candle to the record. Keith couldn’t seem to replicate that distinctive guitar tone live.
Charlie Watts was never the most flashy drummer. He wasn't known for the frenzied solos of Cream's Ginger Baker, or for placing explosives in his kick drum like The Who's Keith Moon. Instead, he was the subtle, stoic heartbeat of The Rolling Stones for almost 60 years. We all Brazilian fans will miss Charlie. RIP 🇧🇷.

I saw 2 of these 4 concert tours, thanks for all the wonderful memories & fantastic music. It seems like I've listened to the Stones my whole life & always will.
The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK, to keep Mick Taylor in the band. For starters, they could have PAID him. He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals. In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not... With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY, Keef couldn't hold a candle to him. Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist. Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius. Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana. No doubt about it. The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics. The band was never the same after 1974.
This is fantastic, sound quality esp. Shows (among other things) how unique Keith's guitar parts are. He's almost like the Miles Davis of rock music, after 30 seconds you know that sound could only be Keith. Santana is similar, you always know it's him.

Last time I saw the Stones I noticed that the family next to us had Mum and Dad, the kids and the Grandparents . So no chance of them being forgotten for years to come. Amazing to see 3 generations loving the same vibe !
I saw them on this tour. For some reason I don't remember the saxophone player. I do remember Billy Preston. It was great.. the stage was a trip! Great version of this song.
Good god this footage of Midnight Rambler from 1971…best ever. The Glimmer Twins were at their peak in the early 70’s. Garage band, sloppy blues. Love it
Love this performance too!! I love it when Mick plays the harmonica…..he’s just phenomenal. The only front man with as much stamina to “maybe” give him a run for his money might be David Byrne of the Talking Heads. He doesn’t have his moves though and no one really does. If that song doesn’t make you want to move…then you are seriously flawed.
Entire video so iconic. It's amazing and it isn't talked about enough how many timeless mega hits The Stones have. Keith and Mick wrote rock masterpieces for all time. And the best part of this video for me was the double head toss. They are so connected, and we are all blessed by it. Rock on, guys. We love you!!!
Ronnie Wood solo on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” is evocative of the style unique to the Black and Blue sessions. It wasn’t something he carried over from The Faces. Woody was settling into a new band. “Weaving” (as Keith puts it) with Richards yielded something new by the time Some Girls was recorded. Ronnie is one of my favorite musicians because of his talent and his willingness to accommodate and be an integral part of any musical endeavor.
The difference between 75 and 78 is so flagrant, Mick stopped drugs and alcohol because he knew he had to last and he was right He's always here on stage in 2021 at more than 80 , for our pleasure 😍💗

I appreciate his skills the more I watch Charlie 😢😢😢😢 R.I.P.
I had the chance to see them in Hampton,Va in 1980 but we thought the $15 ticket was too much so we didn't go..
I did see them in 99 and had a backstage pass.
His drumming really held these guys together. RIP Charlie.
Charlie was and Always Will B The Heartbeat of The Rolling Stones... I think The Last Tour Should B The "Last Time" as the band will never b the same without Charlie.. peace
Jagger stole the show, now he's alone
I got to shows in every decade since 70s,eighties definently the most entertaining .the opening acts they had were equally talented imho.💥 🙃💥

Watch Rock' n' Roll circus and the video of 2000 light years from home.
I’m Alright Live in Ireland, Little Red Rooster, Child of the Moon video,
Wow. This was like stepping back in time to my teenager years and it's so sad because it's over and never coming back for me or the rolling stones but I wouldn't trade it for anything, I was so so lucky to have live through that period and was old enough to make it and young enough to still be here to brag about it
Same here brother, out of 'High' school in '72, saw Stones 1st time, Fan for Life!!
Well said Bruce, I feel the same! I’m so glad that I’ve experienced all that great music. I’ve visited their concerts in Gothenburg Sweden since 65
Same here! Rock and rolls best front man. I grew up listening to them and even did homework listening to all my Stones records. How I did that and still passed I'll never know...
the Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath what teenager years we had DAMN we where so lucky

LONG LIVE THE ROLLING STONES!
(10:15) This solo by Ronnie Wood is so pleasing to my ear! I love when he plays.
Mick Taylor one of the most underrated guitarists of the 70's...🎸🔊🎼
The most overrated, IMHO.
Taylor played some sweet guitar on "time waits for no man"

I agree.
Shattered is an incredible song, very weird for its time and still now. This version is stunning on every level.
It's like a parody of Johnny Rotten and his lot.
@@geruto17760 He`s wearing a Sex Pistols Swastika Destroy shirt too.
I danced 💃🏿 into the new year that year.. the house played Shattered over and over.. most of the night.. we nearly came up with a choreographed dance step to this song..
It’s an amazingly constructed song in that it’s basically just one simple guitar riff but Mick’s vocal delivery and the imagery keeps me riveted all way through
Jagger was incredibly beautiful in 71 at the Marquee. Sexy like a stud....
OH YES ! THEY WERE ALL BEAUTIFUL !!!!
@Redwood Rebelgirl if you like toothless hobos....
@Redwood Rebelgirl one broken tooth ? You do not know your Stones. All his tooth were rotten by drug use. Had to be replaced in 1974 by apparel

@@kevinmcclintock5492 not a troll. A true Stones fan you idiot.
Absolutely love hearing Keith singing lead; Micks back up vocals are on point. What a phenomenally groovy band who gave us the ‘ROLL’ with the Rock. Love the Stones forever!!💞
😻
Absolute LEGENDS!! Mick hasn't aged much at all! Still fit, energetic, and so Rock n' Roll!!!!!!
The years go by, but Mick Jagger remains the same. A 20-year-old man who can not stand still just for a second while he's on stage. Love from Greece 🇬🇷 Rolling stones.
Like it
"Forever young".
Mick is the greatest frontman ever and these clips prove it! There is no second place either...he is just so believable!
I'm a huge Stones fan and they are the Michael Jordan or rock bands. The Stones are #1. But I think Aerosmith is the Kobe Bryant of rock
bands, and Steve Tyler is an even better front man than Mic, and I've seen them both live.
….I Love Him, Freddie and Robert plant probably the most for bands. I Love George Micheals voice the best though
You Bet; love Mick and his moves!!💖
and now at 80 years old , NO ONE moves like him at that age i mean i would think he would be just worn out but he keeps in shape so he isnt a fool up there
You're right: Charlie's drumming smokes on Happy. The passion and energy of Mick and Keith on the tune is outrageous! The dynamics of Keith's playing on Midnight Rambler is virtuoso. What touch!
I’ve always loved Ronnie’s long drawn out solos, when the band is jamming
Mick Taylor’s solo on Happy from Ladies & Gentlemen is one of my favourite solo’s ever
They were at their best with Mick Taylor on
lead.
Still going strong in 23. Amazing. RIP Mr.Watts

Mick JJ really lives the sound as if it's eliminating from the power of his ?
You can see plenty of Mick Taylor in their 2013 Glastonbury concert ruclips.net/video/kfORcR2VSbc/видео.html
Rock on.
Midnight Rambler is a masterpiece. 1968-1978 was stones best albums, and performances.
Agree. The version in this video may be best I’ve heard.
I think the video is a little short for iconic moments from The Rolling Stones.
The Stones are magic , the 70’s Stones were magical…

The 1970s was the height of the Rolling Stones. "Shattered" is the best punk rock song ever made.

RIP 🇧🇷.
Beautifully said !! Charlie was the Heartbeat of The Stones.. I do not think they should replace Charlie at all. I have been a Stones fan since I was 13 yrs old , lucky to have seen them over 30 times in concert , went to 3 Press Conferences have 3 Press Packages. @@ixoye56STP 1972 is great, but musically, it cannot compete with the European 1973 Tour, which almost everyone considers PEAK Stones as a live act.
Saw them in 1981, thought they were old then. My only regret is I did not see them when the great Mick Taylor was a member.
THERE ARE NO FANS IN THE WORLD LIKE ROLLING STONES FANS. CHARLIE, IT JUST WON'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU.
With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY,
Keef couldn't hold a candle to him.

Midnight Rambler
This 1975 version of 'You can't always get what you want' is beyond incredible!!💙
Indeed 🖤
Ronnie gave his best on it, one of the best solos released with the Stones, he fits perfectly the mood of the song and of the arrangement.
I saw them on this tour. For some reason I don't remember the saxophone player. I do remember Billy Preston. It was great.. the stage was a trip! Great version of this song.

Still like the Circus version. Done before the studio.
It doesn't get much better than this, fabulous times 👍🎸
Ronnie's really rocking here with You Can't Always Get What You Want. Go Ronnie go!
Midnight Rambler ❤👌
"Happy" is one of the relatively few Stones' songs where Mick isn't lead singer. Keef says this song does, indeed, make him happy!
Damn! I'm so glad that I lived at the same time as the Stones and Beatles!
💘🤘🏻🤘🏻💘
Ronnie Wood solo on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” is evocative of the style unique to the Black and Blue sessions. It wasn’t something he carried over from The Faces. Woody was settling into a new band. “Weaving” (as Keith puts it) with Richards yielded something new by the time Some Girls was recorded. Ronnie is one of my favorite musicians because of his talent and his willingness to accommodate and be an integral part of any musical endeavor.
