Jon Boogz is a movement artist, choreographer, and director who pushes the evolution of dance - sharing his art form with audiences of all backgrounds while inspiring and bringing awareness to social issues. With collaborators and clients including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Pharrell, and TriBeCa Film Festival, Boogz’s most recent critically acclaimed projects are Color of Reality, a short film he wrote, directed, and choreographed in collaboration with visual artist Alexa Meade and dancer Lil Buck, and AM i A MAN, a short film he wrote and directed with Sol Guy and choreographed with Lil Buck, produced in partnership with Great Big Story and DAIS.
Lil Buck is a movement artist who began jookin at age 13. Named one of Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch, he gained international notoriety after an impromptu piece with Yo-Yo Ma went viral. Since then he has collaborated with a broad spectrum of artists including JR, Damian Woetzel, the New York City Ballet, Madonna, Benjamin Millepied, and Spike Lee. Buck is an avid arts education advocate, recipient of the WSJ Innovator Award, collaborates frequently with global brands including Glenfiddich and Louis Vuitton, and recently launched a capsule collection with Versace.

I teach dance in an urban elementary school. I am trying to get my middle school dancers to think about dance as a way to make social change, that they are artists in their own right and can use that voice to make a difference in the world. I am excited to share this with my students!

Imagination, Creation, Innovation. No words need even be said to paint those pictures. Emphasis in a certain piece of music accented strongly or subtlety by the Movement of the Human vessel. Anyone with at least one good eye can understand, in any country, of any skin tone, of any language. Perfect. Peace
