VF-11 Red Rippers Last Tomcat Cruise

- In 2004 VF-11 deployed for the last time with the F-14 aboard USS George Washington (CVN-73) in support of Iraqi Freedom. During that cruise, VF-11 F-14s participated in the bombing of Fallujah during a 48-hour period between April 28 and 29.
On April 20, 2005, VF-11 delivered the last of their F-14s to the “boneyard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.
The squadron reported to VFA-106 for F/A-18 Super Hornet transition training, completing on November 5, 200

After watching dozens of hornets cruises , finally a tomcat one. Magnificent!
What a feeling that must be, flying the most beautiful airplane ever build 💓. Every air molecules that touches her wings must be lucky... 🐈 The big kitty. First time I saw a picture from a Cat in a aeroplane magazine I was in love, I think I was maybe 9 years old...🤔... Never see one in real.... But it was definitely my inspiration to begin flying.. 💓. Now I was 47 years old, and fly every weekend the shit out in my aerobatic mdm1fox glider. I will never forget you Tomcat, so long I live ! Forgive me my shit English... I'm from Austria 🇦🇹

I'm glad I had the chance and opportunity to get a closer up and preferably preflight walk around while on the Ramp at the most advanced Jet training Base in the world !!! RIP tomcat. It sure it’s true. But according to some docs. The f14 never really seen bunch or that many if any air to air dog fights in combat. Not training. The f5 won 80% of the time in top Gun. My mom flew the f 5. Heard it was the best that never was

Wow 1927. That's a long time. My daddy was born 3 years. Although he was not agreeable with the things I'm agreeable with these days he was an outstanding man. Not everybody gets to work on parts for the Apollo 11.
And I'm pretty sure that f-35 incident on the Carl Vincent probably has something to do with the lug nut that locks the landing gear. Have not investigated this however.
