F/A-18F footage from VFA-11’s 2022 deployment with the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group. The Red Rippers deployed as a member of Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1).
Not that anybody cares but this video was the one that that motivated me to keep on the path to fly in the navy! I’m happy to say today I was selected to be a Marine corp Pilot.
What an outstanding cruise video, great work. Thank you and all men and women of CCSG-8 for standing guard in Europe this year and protecting us, your service is very much appreciated. Love from Ireland.
Who filmed and edited this video? I've only just come across these VFA deployment videos but they're amazing to watch. I am also a massive F/A 18 fan/geek etc, it's great to see some little pics of the avionics inside. Saw below that this team are in Europe? Thanks for your service guys if any of you see this. Cheers! I was ships company on the Forrestal (88-90) when your squadron was still flying the F-14A. Now THAT was an aircraft! FID is razor blades now but I read somewhere that its anchors went to the Truman so it's good to see that the spirit goes on. I wish we had the tech to save the memories with the folks back home and to remember years later so from an old salt thanks for sharing.

Hallo May i ask a Question? Before you land on a Carrier, is the procedure to drop external fuel tanks, or Weapons you carry (if you would carry in this case) ?
Some of the most memorable days of my life are my Med cruise with VF-11 in 1986. Red Rippers forever. I terminated shore duty to join VF-11. I wish I would have known at the time what an epic event it was.
This is some of the best footage I've ever seen absolutely spot on. The choice of music is very disappointing but its you're video. Metallica or heavy music would've made this full on. Not a criticism at all and again, best footage I've seen. Thankyou 👍
