Erica is such a toxic friend, she hanged out with Sarah because they were friends for years but it was implied Sarah was her only friend and still Erica refused to listen to her and even called her crazy when she told her about the vampires and then she got transformed and saw that Sarah was telling the truth and was trying to protect her and Erica returned the favor by turning her back on her best friend and helping the guy she hated the most, and then in the movie theater she was willing to hurt Sarah, her only true friend, to help Jesse, the guy who was obviously just using her, and in the end they just became friends again because the evil vampires were killed so Erica no longer had a group to hang out with instead of Sarah, she didn´t even apologize Sarah is just too nice to hold a grudge but she still deserves better, and throughout the show Erica had many other moments when she was an awful friend, she wouldn´t listen to Sarah, would ditch her whenever she had someone better to hang out with and would be stupid and get into some sort of trouble even though they warned her about it and the other characters would have to save her

You know I watched an analysis about the Dracula movie (the one from the 90´s) and it said that the vampire is the most sexual of all creatures since the 19th century because they represent all the taboos of modern society because they are the pleasure driven by pure instinct, the bite transformation is all a metaphor for sex, and the vampire condition would be a metaphor for STDs/STIs (that are spread through blood contact) more specifically syphilis that was spreading through Europe by the time the Dracula novel was being written (and one of the symptoms is pale skin). And this analogy fits MBAV perfectly, the way Jesse turned Sarah into a vampire against her will then she got his "thing" and tried her best to keep it under control and he pressured her to embrace it, the way Erica got bitten and how through her and Rory´s expression it seemed being transformed was a pleasant process and how they so drastically changed the next day
Vampire media is also queer as hell. The lesbian vampire trope came from the novella carmilla which actually predates dracula n could have possibly been an inspiration for it. Also the author of dracula bram stoker is heavily speculated to have been a deeply closeted gay man n dracula can be read to have themes of internalized homophobia.

I mean they should’ve at least ended maybe with them surviving and Jessse, Sarah, Erica, and Rory having to maybe leave or temporarily go in hiding till the heat died down and had Ethan and Benny returning home to celebrate their victory or something!!! Also if I was a vamp, I’d most likely feast on animal blood, raw meat, and ONLY EVIL Humans. 🧛🏻🩸🖤🩶❤️
