This video was highly requested and so much fun to film! Reacting to THE CLIQUE! Making this movie was such a happy and fun experience, and I loved every second of it. As you can see in this reaction video, so many memories flood back throughout, and it was really special and fun to watch after all of these years.

Not really. Gossip Girl was released first and had several books out before the first Clique book hit shelves. GG and The Clique are also published by companies under the same umbrella company so they were likely picked up by teams with similar directives

Haha. And I still won't wear them! It's not like I wasn't hesitant in the first place, but after this movie I became convinced. The Clique taught me the very important lesson that there are different levels of "fashion risks" that go far beyond being a fashion victim...

I loved Claire’s comeback at Massie in the book that went, “are you a female dog? ...then why are you such a bitch?!” Or something to that nature. I WISH that exact line from the book was in the movie, it was just such a dig at Massie and I loved it.

Can we talk about how I went to BLOCKBUSTER to rent this movie when it came out! BLOCK BUSTER! I was obsessed with the clique back then and watched the trailer like soooo many times dissecting every single little thing and then I watched the movie so many times! And I still do!!!!!!! Also to now know that you are a broadway actress which is a dream of mine, ah I love it! So glad you made this video!!!
i watched it on netflix...but the DVD they sent in the mail💀 i watched it so much that we kept renewing it and they never asked for it back so i still have the DVD and the little netflix sleeve LOL
I remember when the script came out for the contest, my dad actually told me about it and told me to do it, and my 13-14 year old clique OBSESSED self spent hours filming myself in my bedroom every single day trying to get it perfect only to chicken out and assume my small town Midwest life would never get anywhere I wanted it to be and then kicked myself when the movie came out because I wanted SO badly to Massie and I could have at least sent in the video and tried to win the contest. To this day I still randomly start acting out the small monologue from it when talking to my dog lol. I can’t wait for my daughter be old enough to enjoy this series, I saved all my books from middle school and they are in perfect condition for her. ♥️
I feel like growing up a lot of us girls related to your character because we could not afford nothing you’d see the Clique girls have but we wanted to live that life 😭🥲 minus their bitchiness 😂

I literally agree. Lisi Harrison has an amazing way with words and describing such a charmed and exciting wardrobe and lifestyle for the privileged lol. But yeah, I always could do without the bitchiness of the likes of Massie Block lol.
These books were my bibles when I was younger. I wanted a friend group that was obviously nicer than Massie's, but with all the fun clothes and parties and State of the Unions. Omg. What a trip.
This is a funny confession but since it was out on Netflix, I literally watch this movie every night until I fall asleep 😂😂

I’ll never forget after this movie came out I rolled up to 8th grade wearing one of masseys outfits. Half way thru the day I lost all my confidence and took off the blazer and heels. Now at 26 idgaf and will wear what I want without thinking twice of others opinions. So thankful for this series/movie. And thank you for making this. Was so nice to remember my youth thru you
I JUST LET OUT THE LOUDESTTT AUDIBLE GASP OMG OMG I spoke about this in my first ever video and my “how to find your style” but this film was sooo pivotal and significant to my style development when I was a kid!!! I watched The Clique when I was a very sheltered 8th grader. It was 2010, I had strep throat and Netflix on my mom's laptop. I was MORTIFIED at the fake period prank scene. I wouldn't let my younger sister watch it because I thought that was SO inappropriate. Oh, the innocence...
Layne always has oatmeal because in the books she went through phases where she was obsessed with certain snacks. Like she would eat them all the time. At one point she was obsessed with Go Gurts

I read The Clique in 6th grade (a year before the movie came out) and when I watched the movie, I was shocked by how you were EXACTLY like how I pictured Claire in the books. Also, the members of the Pretty Committee were exactly how I pictured them, too. Amazing casting

This book series was EVERYTHING to me when I was in junior high and I’m low key sad that there were never any movie sequels
That was everything! When I watched this I remember thinking there was no possible way that the building was a school, so finding out it actually was is surprising! I had always wondered if she was in the cake the whole time, glad to see that answered. You’re so sweet complimenting the other actors. You did great too! These characters were so cruel! I’m relieved for you that they didn’t include the book scene where the girls throw fish at Claire. Gross. I really enjoy this kind of behind the scenes content, so this was a lot of fun.

Randomly decided to watch The Clique and when researching the cast I find out you have a youtube channel now?? YAS. SUBSCRIBED. This movie was and still is one of my most favorite movies. There's so much nostalgia with watching this and re-reading the books. I was 14 in 2008 as well and boy it was a tumultuous hormornal time in my life so it was really refreshing to read a series that had a lead that was so relatable!

I literally grew up reading Lisi Harrison from like age 11 to 14. I never got to finish past Boys R Us. So there's like 4 books I still should read. I did however read the entire summer series and the prequel Charmed and Dangerous. Anyways, This video is so wholesome and I'm so glad youtube recommended this! So proud of you Ellen for your portrayal of Cuh-lair Lyons! But also, thank you for the relatable goodness! I still think the clique series could had succeeded as a tv or web series. It would had fit right in with Gossip Girl and PLL. Especially since it has a more upstate NY than UES vibes. But, for what it's worth I think this movie is iconic and cringe aside- it was a huge accomplishment for all of you.
