We feel you Gitana! The realism in Charlie's lyrics makes his music very relatable to our own lives. I'm sure Charlie is smiling down on you at this very moment saying, "Bless you heart sweetie."

I was raised in that way also. I remember my grandpa telling me once, “If you don’t have the money to buy something, it ain’t meant for you to have it yet.” I was brought up in the South & brought up around a variety of music. Country music was definitely one of those genres. Oh yeah, I was brought up on a country, dirt road & a farm.

I was very lucky to get to see Charlie Daniels at a Concert back in 2005 when I was an active duty Marine, Before I was deployed to Iraq. He did the concert totally free and it was just for Military & Veterans in San Diego, Commi-fornia at Miramar Air Base. IT WAS AN EPIC SHOW even though back in 2005 he was already in pretty poor health and he had to take a break ever few songs to go backstage and breath with an oxygen tank for a few minutes. I think It showed just how much Genuine appreciation he had for us and showed what a strong & good character he had. He showed how deeply he loved our Military & wanted to support us. Because he would put himself through such a hassle & a Strain on his body to do the show for us, Especially because, He wasn’t being paid a dime for it. It was even more amazing when He saw how much the crowd was enjoying the show, He went backstage and grabbed his oxygen tank and rolled it out on stage with him and He stayed and just played more & more songs long into the night and took a bunch of requests from the crowd. The concert was originally supposed to be about 2 hrs long, Ended up lasting over 4 & 1/2 hrs long.
Thank you Mr. Daniels for the wonderful show. May you Rest In Eternal Peace, GodSpeed

I started listening to Charlie Daniels back in the 70s during the Southern Rock era. Charlie grow up over the decades, but was always the same. He had stopped writing about dope smoking and drinking and started writing about simple ways, love of God and Country. Down to Earth, good ole Southern boy. He will be greatly missed.

It's a simple and straightforward song, but it's one of my favorites from him. Probably because I can sing along to it, and I like the lyrics, "A poor girl wants to marry, and a rich girl wants to flirt. A rich man goes to college, and a poor man goes to work."
    Thanks for the reaction. 😊

Years ago I was at a southern jam in Memphis and Jerry jeff Walker was on stage soooo drunk and stumbling around when Charlie appeared and just enveloped him and calmly walked him off stage and before the crowd got ugly he was up on stage soloing on his fiddle while they started to set his band. I was always impressed with the love he did this with. He was a living definition of a good man.
The first and my favorite CDB song was Caballo Diablo, this song is well worth a visit.

Country music it's story telling at it's heart. Story telling about every day life. That is what's so relatable. Charlie was a tireless supporter of Farmers, he helped organize the first FarmAid concert, he did so many USO shows for the troops and veterans.( He was disqualified from serving due to poor eyesight ) His song Still in Saigon is one of the first acknowledgements of the condition now known as PTSD.
Boogie Woogie Fiddle Country Blues is just plain fun to listen. I consider myself fortunate to have seen him in concert over a dozen times. Enjoy the ride

Being born in the 50’s and and an ole hippie girl with all red hair living the 70’s, this was one of favorite songs of all times cause it describes my character completely, however, I would sing, “you don’t like the way I’m living, just leave this long hair country girl alone”!!! R.I.P. Charlie! Love an light my friend!!! 🥰🌎☮️

Charlie has been one of my favourites since I was a kid. Devil went down to Georgia was the first song I knew all the words too. Another one of my favourites that I think you will like is Chris Ledoux. Check out This Cowboys Hat, Working Man's Dollar or Look at you Girl

Hey we were lucky enough to see Charlie Daniels on several occasions. He has another song you need to check out, it is title The Last Fallen Hero. Love you reactions to the country videos.

I always enjoy your country reactions. Vince Gill has a great voice and I think you would like him. And maybe Mark Chesnut -She was, would be a good song to react to

If you can't tell he was really young when he started singing this song. I had the privilege of going to one of his concerts a few years back. Since he had found the lord and changed his life, he dosent say those lyrics anymore because they aren't true of his life. He doesn't get stoned or drunk anymore. This man is a legend may he rest in peace.
