I think I can make out the sound of the intake, sounds good. I really like the wheels, great choice there. I think it would be cool to see a supercharger setup if they manufacture them and some more suspension work to go with the coilovers.

the only people that hate on TE37s wish they had them or want to be different for the sake of being different. I have the bronze ones on my type r and I love the look.
The tail of the dragon is a blast but it's still a little cold for summer tires. Keep an eye on the weather for Loudon Tennessee which is about 20 min away. I went the first week of June and it was perfect. It was a 70 degree day but at the very top it got down to 59 degrees because of the elevation. I know you have a baby on the way but it's just a bit early in the season.
Great video Cameron 👍hoping that some aftermarket companies will develop individual throttle bodies (ITBs) for these 2nd gen BRZ/GR86s - they don't produce much power gains despite costing the same as forced induction kits but they produce a killer sound a provide razor sharp throttle response 👌Some kits were made for the FA20 86/BRZs so hoping we'll see these companies do the same for the FA24 cars!

I've been debating getting the pedal commander for the response, I just hate how non-linear the throttle is with the least travel, most of the pedal is wasted. The rev hang at lower gear is such a pain, and I know it can't be fixed legally.
I'm afraid of doing too much on a car that hasn't been crowd-tested extensively yet. It is my only daily. I've done exhaust, removed the carbon filter, installed an MTEC clutch spring, wired the front accessory lights with turn signals and some STi trim pieces, had an LED steering wheel which I removed (after replacing a broken clock spring lol) cuz I couldnt wire without battery drain and never got re-alligned (teeth were'nt perfectly centered). Did a wrap on OEM instead. And I have some light-up door sills I couldn't figure out how to light up properly without wiring it into the dome fuse in the engine bay (door is more ECU controlled now, can't easily just wire to the latch).
I've done enough splicing, some which didn't work correctly, I'm just done with that lol, yesterday had a blinking engine light, maybe I didn't ground correctly. It went away, but man, when I looked up what blinking meant it spooked the shit out of me for even driving with it on.

The reason why your wheels don’t have a little bit of poke or completely flushed to the body of the brz is bcuz of the offset u chose not necessarily the width, I believe you’re running 18x8.5 + 40 or 45 I don’t remember but if u want a more aggressive fitment u can go with +22 to +30 offset… and +32 to +38 will get u flushed, u can still run 8.5, 9,9.5 wide it’s more about offset than width, width and offset work together but in slightly different ways
Agreed I have a 18 x 8.5 with a +35 and mine are perfectly flush

Wish you would've gotten Vivian in there to rev it with the hood up, or have her record the intake. Doesn't accentuate enough on camera even with headphones on (I think I did hear it though). Kudos to the incoming family. Make sure to thank her plenty for helping you with the vids lol
I took my carbon filter off, it's very restrictive (much moreso than the stock filter). Hopefully it doesnt affect intake pressure negatively.

sounds a bit more throaty than stock, I think. The exhaust does overshadow most of the sound from the outside pov but I am guessing from the driver's seat, you can hear it a lot more distinctly.
Anywho, glad to see you doing a bit more driving type of content. I've gotten to the point where I don't mod my cars much anymore, but focus more on doing things like mountain rallies, track days and scenic roadtrips. That's what cars are all about.
Remember, it's not about how many cars you have in your driveway but how many things you do with the cars that you do have. Try to have fewer cars and do more quality content with them than a bunch of parked cars that aren't doing much. You need to get away from buying these extra cheap cars like the mustang or the lexus. They are cheap for a reason. Hope to see you at a track doing some proper driving soon.
yes the ecu is relearning it is now taking more air in so its trying to compensate with fuel.

You should check places like Spring Hill and Citrus Spring does are growing places not much traffic and some nice roads up there to drive maybe not as twist it like you like. I just got an APR intercooler and H&R lowering springs for my A3. Probably put the springs in first. The intercooler is a bitch to do. So I'm putting that off cuz it's going to take me all day.😉
that cold air intake pass the air duct behind the bumper perfectly. I guess the throttle delay at the low speed will be an annoying thing.

what youre probably hearing at 4k RPM is the VVT crossing oer, my mitsubishi eclipse crosses over at exactly 4k and it sounds insane with an intake, couldnt really hear it without one.
More than likely you will need a tune to unlock the hp gains claimed by them. Otherwise "just guessing" your ecu is torque managed like most cars. so no matter what mods you do. Your car will only meet what the factory tune is programmed ...it will still sound awesome tho.
You should do some of the same rollers with the type R.

Wonder how any kind of intake would pair with the Tomei dual exit catback. Installed it a few months back and love the sound and looks, though haven't pulled the trigger on an intake as the induction sound is likely to be drowned by exhaust.
TE gang :) if you havent seen it, theres an article by System Motorsports that has a fitment guide for the 86/BRZ. i could dm it if you cant find it, but it has some good info

I'm not sure if this helps but, on instructions for my injen intake on 2020 gt86, I had to disconnect my battery before installation so that when I reconnect , my ecu would relearn. The only thing that was different between our intake was, injen added an inner bypass tube near the sensor to prevent check engine light.

Yea, in most cases, to relearn, you would have to disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes for a relearn to enable. If you feel a difference now, then u can disregard lol

I had a wrx than would run weird for a day if you had to replace the battery or change an air filter. I just figured it was a subaru thing.

It is not as nice as a Honda shifter, thats for sure. It still gets the job done. Feels more stiff, not as buttery smooth as the Type R's gearbox

18x9 is ridiculous for the 2nd gen. You'd need lots of negative camber or stretched tires.
Cam not sure if you notice but your missing your drivers side mirror cover your mount points are all exposed.

I might be wrong but I thought any time you modify something that has anything to do with the maf or air to fuel ratio or any performance mods in general you should be getting at least an ots tune for it. Or is that just for turbo’d cars like the sti hence why you didn’t put a tune on it for the intake?
That rule doesnt apply to all cars. For this car, using an aftermarket intake with the sane size tube at the MAF sensor does not require a tune

hmmm... good question. they're very different cars with different purposes. The Si would be a better daily, but the BRZ is more fun. The BRZ is quicker out of the box, by a lot, but the si gets better gas mileage and is more comfortable. it depends on what you want the car for

Just replace the filter and and remove the charcoal diaper and it’ll sound good enough. Its not worth spending hundreds to get a minor change in sound.
At 3:10 i think its the intake baffle.
You should def check out Old Town in Kissimmee, tons of car enthusiasts round that part and fun place overall.

too many people for me. way too much traffic literally all the time. the roads are awful and need repaving, loose gravel all over the streets everywhere. Its too far from my work so I hate my commute. theres construction everywhere and everything is a mess and dirty all the time. did I mention traffic? I miss the mountains in California and the more gentle nature of northern california
@@Camhill182 that! Is completely understandable. That sounds like Indianapolis. Literally have to avoid potholes cause If I don't they are so big they damage my front bumper and underside and wheels. Northern Cali is beautiful but to many laws against car culture for my personal taste.
