Great video, guys. Too bad about the leak but I was more worried at first it was coolant from your Jeep's heater so all things considered, it could have been worse. I often forget to hit record too, or worse, I accidentally turn the recording off when it was already on.😀 I really liked your song selections in this one too! 👍👍
Thanks, Daryl! Now that you are mentioning it, it certainly could have been worse. That thought never really crossed our mind. I've done the turn on/turn off thing as well. It actually happened again last weekend😂 . All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
So much to see on the north end of the island. Devil's bath, the eternal fountain, Goodspeed fossil bed & The Scarlet Ibis the most remote pub on Vancouver Island. Happy Travels.
Great day of adventuring and a beautiful spot to camp. I think I know who that subscriber was you chatted with “wink wink” Glad that leak was only water! Nothing the little green machine can’t cleanup lol. Looking forward to your videos of Northern Island! How exciting! Cheers guys! Erin and Greg
That's great that you were able to find that spot and the fishermen were ready to move on. I was worried when everything was wet and thought maybe something major happened with the jeep. Looks like such a nice camp spot with that waterview.
It actually never crossed our mind that it could have been worse until we were looking at the comments 😂. Certainly was a nice spot to set up for the night. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Very great video you two! once again finding such a beautiful spot! I cant wait to meet up again its been to long! Miss you both and cant wait until Sept!
Thanks buddy! It's going to happen in September. Looking forward to having a good time at camp again with you and Michelle. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Awesome Video as always!! Some pretty beautiful spots you found!! You know what water jugs we would recommend lol Looking forward to seeing more of the island through your videos (and in person soon) Thanks for taking us along!! Cheerrs Wakt & Joanne
We build these rigs to find those perfect camping spots. We too have thought we’re being picky and keep searching for the perfect spot, luckily you guys found one. Beautiful area and relaxing video. Thanks for sharing with us all.
Oh man, not sure why we just saw your comment now 🙄. Sorry for the really late response. It's all part of the adventure, right? You are hanging with Walter and Joanne as I am writing this 😉. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Awesome Spot Glad to hear it was the water jugs and not something with the jeep Great Pick for your get away! We got the chance to visit North Island and it dose not disappoint! Safe Travels Mike N Sheila OV the North ✌🇨🇦
Thanks, guys! Never considered that it could have been something else other than the water jug, until we read all the comments 😂. We are really looking forward to the trip. Hop You are doing well👍. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Great exploring! For your north end of the island trip I'd suggest Coal Harbour just for the museum. It's in the one remaining hanger and has some really interesting stuff on display. Happy travels.
I've taken to using 5 gallon water bottles. They're tough, fit a manual pump and are cheap to refill at stores. They're bulkier but waaay stronger than rotomolded jugs. No seams. Tons of zer-gate access on the North Island! Cheers from Victoria,
We've been considering that option, but the bulky bit is a bit inconvenient as we are loaded up enough as it is. How do you keep the lid to stay on? All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
@@backroadjournals amazon 🙄... I know, I know...but they sell silicone caps for transport. Conversly, you could grab some caps at a grocery store water kiosk. I've painted the jug white so as not to introduce algae bloom - it sits in a milk crate in my Tacoma bed. Hope that helps!
Nice spot, glad to see you get it back. And glad to see you haven`t been "airing up or down" anymore. When i was driving crummys for the work crews if I said i had to stop to do that the jeers, coffee cups, saw files, and everything else handy would`ve been flying at me to get going
Great video, I can picture my Ram parked there already sitting by my fireplace with a mocha in hand. 😎 Love that spot.👍🏽 The North trip sounds like a good choice.

Thank You, Dan! It's just the way it is here in the summer. It's all fun, though. Just a bit odd that both jugs pretty much cracked in almost the same place. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Jostling and bumping is part of the territory when 4x4ing. I think your water issue is not the container itself, but rather that the container is unprotected. It will inevitably get bounced and land on something it shouldn't. If you could place them in say a milk crate (not sure if they would fit or not), it would protect the jugs from landing on a clasp/screw head/buckle/gear/whatever. A bungie over top would also prevent them from bouncing within the crate and some rubber in the bottom would soften any bounces that made it though all that. That 'should' solve your issue. Happy trails guys. Love the videos and trying to figure out where the secret spots are! My rig would never fit, but I get great enjoyment from the sleuthing.
Oh, if you don't promptly remove the carpet and let it dry out completely, you will get a nice patina on the floor and seat brackets (surface rust). Don't ask me how I know.
Thank You. The jug is actually well protected in between the back seat and the bag that we store our annex in. Nothing sharp there. It's also sitting pretty tight and is not moving around at all. Both of our jugs cracked in pretty much the same spot, which is weird. Anyways all is well that ends well. Everything is nice and dry now. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Don't forget that you can pull the floor plugs to assist with draining the water! I have one of those Reliant jugs. I don't fill it all the way. Now I am worried about continuing to use it. I also have a bunch of those blue square ones with the spouts. But their caps crack it you turn just a little too tightly. I have a similar set up to yours (JLU with RTT and 270 awning, blah, blah) and I am looking forward to heading up north Island. These spots look fantastic.
Thank You for watching. We did end up pulling the plugs once we were back home. It was a bit tricky to pull back the carpet to get to the plugs. Our jugs may have just been old, not really sure why else they would just crack as they are pretty well protected on all sides when we pack up. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Great spots out there! How do you keep getting holes in the water containers? I use those too. I've noticed that the top can sometimes leak if you don't have it closed properly, but an all out blowout like you have...are you stacking stuff on top of the container? Anything under it that is sharp?
We have no idea. The jug is actually pretty protected in between the back seat and the bag that has our annex in it. It's also sitting pretty tight and is not moving around. At this point it just might be old age. I got a few cracks myself 😂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
