One important piece of gear (I actually carry 2) is a Fire Extinguisher. I keep one on the tailgate where I cook and one up front in case of engine fire. I weighed my Jeep recently while fully packed and found that I was over the GVWR. I am considering removing the rear seats to save weight. Either that or pare down on the gear a little more. Have a safe trip!
Fire Extinguisher is such an important thing to have👍! We are guilty of not having one (yet), knowing that we should. We also considered removing the seats, just to have more storage, which in our case would not really reduce the weight, as we would just pack more😂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
thank you very much for going through your gear. as it happens, i was doing the same thing this afternoon. always useful to do a comparison. looking forward to your next video in two weeks. safe travels.
It works for us and our budget! One can easily go overboard when it comes to gear and forget about what is actually useful. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Thanks guys for sharing, I picked up a few ideas myself. Awesome family garden. Looking forward to the trip coming up. I Just saw Epic Family Road Trip in that area. Looks amazing. 😎👍🏽
Haha, we just finished watching them as well. We will be visiting maybe one or two places that they have been to as well, All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Fireban is lifted!!! We're heading for our annual North Island Jeep trip today(08/31/24) so if you see a Green Jeep Cherokee frantically waving, that be us!
It got lifted just in time 👍🙂. We did not expect that at all. We'll be heading up north on the 10th. Have fun on your trip and maybe we'll run into you 🙂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
We for sure will not be challenging you to a game of tetrus lol due to your packing skills in the jeep!! You will love your Joolca....we adore ours! Makes those longer trips a little more manageable. We always love seeing what others bring on their trips. This is a good video for people that are not as experienced and unsure of what to bring. Good job guys. P.S. love the shirt Michelle 😉
Thanks, guys! Turns out we added few more items to the list 😂. Fire ban was just lifted, meaning that we will now also bring a bin of firewood. No idea how all of this is going to fit into the jeep just yet. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Look at that fabulous garden😋😋 You sure pack a lot of stuff! I saw that the kitchen sink is missing though😟 I like the table you have! I may need to get one of those one of these days. I think you're prepared for your trip and that shower will hopefully be a nice addition to your gear!
Thank You, Age! The kitchen sink was folded up in the kitchen bin 🙂. We got the table at Walmart for $80. They had a smaller one for $50 or something. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
great video thanks
Good plan. I'm avoiding the labour day long weekend as well. Hopefully the weather is still decent toward the end of September.
It is going to be mad busy, as per usual. Weather will be what it will be, we always make the best of it 🙂.
All the best,
Michelle and Holger 🙏
Great job guys, looking forward to watching your big trip to the north of the island. Cheers. 👍
Thank You! We cannot wait to get going, but still so much planning to do.
All the best,
Michelle and Holger 🙏
Every time I pack for a longer trip, I’m reminded why people build houses…:)
always good to get a jump starter loll great video guys
😂. Thanks, hope you are doing well!
All the best,
Michelle and Holger 🙏

@@backroadjournals I have one regular extinguisher and one from Element Fire Canada. Small, light, lasts longer, etc but pricey.

@@backroadjournals We just got back after 7 days. Looking forward to seeing your trip videos
Really interesting to see what you carry on these adventures. I bet all those camping trips have really helped you to figure out the essential gear.
We thing we got it figured, but we will never fully🙂.
