I think the interaction with Welder to have a turn 2 Citadel Online is amazing. Welder itself isnt even a dead card. You can pitch it to Flare or any other ritual etc, you can use it to bring back mana rocks to have more fast mana on turns, to even switch out the one ring when the burden counters get too big late game (if it comes to it) and even putting opponents artifact stack piece into the bin... There's no feel better move when you do a switcheroo with a players Graftdiggers/Weathered Runestone/Canonist and then proceed to go off haha.
Love hearing you guys gush about cards. Especially since it’s not the absolute cream of the crop; you’ve taught me that cEDH is about HAVING FUN with optimized cards, and I can’t thank you enough for that

I’ve been looking into Yarok more recently as a commander, sort of as a pod/combo deck. Losing jeweled lotus and mana crypt hurts the deck a lot, but I still think it’s really interesting. Yarok has a hidden one-card infinite with both Spellseeker and Micromancer that just requires you get them onto the battlefield (either through pod or hard casting) and then have one blue, one black open. It goes something like Spellseeker to get Essence Flux + Sacrifice, blink the Spellseeker with Essence Flux to get Entomb + Persist, Sacrifice the Spellseeker to made BBB, entomb an archaeomancer/scholar of the new ages/timeless witness/eternal witness, then Persist it to grab Sacrifice and Persist, and loop forever for infinite mana and etb/death triggers. Micromancer works the same way but you have to use Unearth instead of Persist and it is required that you entomb Eternal Witness. I’m still new to cEDH but it might be interesting to see Yarok pop up. The combo does work with any extra etb effect, but yarok is in prime colors and has it in the command zone. Keep an eye out for that 👀
It is a very cool and unique combo! However, it is also just Inalla Wizard combo, but you are required to play and keep your 5 mana commander on the field. Seems unappealing in comparison, unfortunately.
I literally just built this deck a few weeks ago lmao, but I'm playing it more as a reanimator type deck, with yarok out reanimating broodlord just wins you the game on the spot, especially since with saw in half you're getting 6 tutors off of one card
@@havardharaldsen332the difference with Inalla is green gets pod effects. It’s kind of a trade off, inalla’s probably better, but Yarok has some other cool tech
Orcish lumberjack was one of my absolute favorite cards when I first started playing, it was one of the cornerstones of my gruul deck before I understood how powerful quick ramp was lol
i really like this podcast topic, theres just been so many new cards getting released that coming back and checking up on some of them is very intresting. Six has been my fav card but havnt saw any content for him after release xD
I had Six on my Bloodpod deck. Recurring Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and my Swords to Plowshare is so good in buying time for me to find my win. Edit: not STP but Solitude. The STP on a stick
talking about different color versions of orcish lumberjack made me thing about different versions of Imperial Recruiter and Recruiter of the guard. be basically have spellseeker as the blue version but with the "wrong" naming. the green one could look for a creature with mana value 2 or less and the black one could look for any creature but you loose life equal to it's mana value
@ you need Six, Groundskeeper, and LED in play with at least one basic land in hand or in grave. Activate LED discarding your hand and generating GGG. Activate Groundskeeper spending GG to return a basic land from grave to hand. Discard the basic to pay the Retrace cost for LED and cast it for 0.
@@harrycannon2661 Oh! Now I get it. For some reason I thought you need to sacrifice groundskeeper for that ability. Thats a neat combo! Thanks for the explanation
I love how Flare of duplication was brought up, and praised, but some of the other functionality of duplication spells was not mentioned. I know you guys don't like copy spells that much, but it can come in clutch when your opponents are least expecting the red player to have a protective "copy your counterspell and counter it." For free or hell, maybe just 3 Mana "actually my spell does resolve and I win"👌
On Rain of Filth, been trying it in my rogsi like Dylan and ngl everytime ive had it i wished it was just another better ritual or something else, even when i have 30+ cards in hand it stays in the back cus there are better or other things to cast. Still gonna keep trying it but it seems alright. Ive been trying Pyretic Ritual, Stormkiln Artist, and Crystal Vein and theyve been really good so far. Stormkiln when you got a bunch of red and no way to convert to blue is actually pretty insane. If you can get him down before a big ad naus turn or necro it can be a cake walk.

A bit late to the video but I’m dying to know your guys thoughts on copy artifact! I never see it played but I really love it. I think that thassa’s is best however if you don’t have black, other strategies that draw your deck should have a win line other than thassa’s. I don’t think I’m running it in Temur and Simic decks like kinnan (Nadu preban) and some others I’m trying. Tutoring for a 3 mana 2 card combo is pretty close to Flash hulk power level. I’ve been back and forth on emergence zone, born made me try it a lot but I’ve been cutting it out of virtually every deck (I have it in my kinnan but nothing else). I’ve been trying out a kinnan Stax heavy deck and it’s been fun but not Tournament ready. I’d like to know if kinnan wants to go faster or slower, every Roger deck makes me cross my fingers and I’ve been happy against most other commanders.
Hear me out, Bolas's Citadel in Yuriko but only if you're running extra turn spells. Also hear me out, dark petition in Yuriko but we're also back on DOOMSDAY as one of our win cons.
I’m still newer to magic. For orcish lumberjack, are you allowed to tap a forest floating a green, then sacrifice it and technically come out with 4 mana? Or can you not sacrifice a tapped land or do it in that order
You totally can, it doesn't specify an untapped land. That's what allows for a turn two ad Nauseum (5 mana total), you can play one land a turn, tap both for mana, then sacrifice one for 3 to get 5 total.
Hi guys, love the content. I hear you talking about win turn 2 a lot, so here comes the question. When should a deck win to be a cedh deck? an for it to be tcedh?
Your deck should be capable of winning fast. It doesn’t need to be the central strategy of your deck, but having the option is nice. There decks designed to go for wins turn one so being able to keep pace with them is essential, especially in tedh.
How many more lands/cards with powerful abilities need to be printed before some version of stifle becomes worth it? Alternatively what else would a new version need to do/cost to be worth it?
Dylan i think Citadel needs the right home. it's less good in blue decks because you run counterspells. it's really good in Mardu, especially Tymna Jeska because you end up playing lots of cards that help you loot because of the reanimator/worldgorger deck design. i agree it's less good in rogsi but probably still a solid storm engine
What do you guys think about the commander rules committee members announcement? It's cool to see a decent amount of cedh players on the committee, and I personally was super happy to see rebel on it!
What is described in 11:45 doesn't work. The moment you discard, and with the necropotence trigger on the stack, all "Until end of turn" effects expire because you are past the "end of turn". You are in the cleanup step. Because of this, you can no longer sac the land.
Found this out recently myself, cleanup step is after end of turn abilities are removed, and priority only goes back around after a triggered ability like necro goes on the stack
The whole point of Borne upon the Wind is that you don't go to cleanup and discard. You draw your necro cards and hope to find a Borne upon them, so that you can continue to play your hand of 30 cards during your end step.
