Bruce being a father is one of my favourite aspects about him, it adds another layer to his character and makes him more human. It's very sweet to see him being fatherly to the Robins or just kids in general
I think that Alfred probably does accidentally contribute to Bruce Wayne's emotional repression, not through his advice but through his behaviour. He's written to be very traditionally British and often expresses himself through sarcasm and sardonic remarks. Between this and the fact that he and Bruce stay in the butler/employer roles even when they are blatantly foster father/son, I think Alfred probably unintentionally modelled a "stiff upper lip" attitude rather than emotional openness.
@CelynBrum yes I agree and there's definitely these aspects about the character that's interesting really, how can a parent love their child and care for them but still uncontrollably the child will be his own man and ig there's both a lot of guilt in the life he could've had if he had someone else and the pride of what a great man he turned to be. But that's the thing about Alfred, he is the only one that have abd could take care of him in his point in time and as a 3rd wheel watching and reading about them I can get it and see the beauty in the realistic life experience where a lot of kids with no parents experience. Lol I kinda explained it to myself aswell
@@yoboimichproductionsinc.2948 I like to think Alfred has a hard time expressing his love through anything other than acts of service, so he prefers staying in the role of the uptight british butler
My safe place! I love BatDad but I love Bruce being a father to all his kids, not just Damien, the blood son. James Gunn, the new head of DC, talks a lot about Damien and Bruce (Damien is one of his faves) but he doesn't mention the others, which sometimes irritates me. Had it not been for Richard "Dick" Grayson, Bruce would still be shut down and even more distant. Yes, Bruce is a little unstable, distant, and sometimes cold towards the family, but I think he genuinely loves all kids; the fear of losing them is what sometimes guides his not-so-great behaviors and decisions. 🎶A single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids and never stops with gentle hands and the heart of a fighter... I'm a survivor.🎶
In the golden age they basically made him marry Selina made a daughter and he retired or something and I really liked the story though I haven't read the comics I'd love a version of batman that have a strong ending on a happy note
DC like make my boy Bruce suffers because he becomes 'less interesting' when he doesn't suffer I mean when his relationships with his kids are finally getting back to normal something out of nowhere and something illogical comes along to ruin it because Bruce is DC's ultimate sacrifice I mean come on he doesn't have enough trauma we need more we need him to destroy everything he's built every time so the story can be more interesting and it's really annoying when they do that just because I get it really but it starts to get annoying when you're in a circle of Bruce not trusting Bruce learning to trust his family and another writer taking over the comic and then we flash back to Bruce not trusting anyone.
I personally find the idea that a character can't be interesting if they get their crap together and not be toxic towards their loved ones an indication that the writer really needs therapy themselves and probably should be avoided in social situations. I also find the endless forced angst boring. Stories where Bruce has friends and is a good dad can be fun as Wayne Family Adventures proves.

I mean, if you read any current comics, then Bruce is NOT a good father
