  • This video is not about knives 😏. It is about my journey to finding the perfect, AFFORDABLE burnishing machine. I use Nigel Armitage's ash burnishing wheel in combination with a Bucktool, low-speed grinder. Links below. I am all in at $224 of my own hard earned cash. No need to spend $500 - $1000. It turned out pretty darn good and much better quality than the Chinese burnishing machines you see circulating around the leather world. This machine can handle the heavy projects. 😬

I do not get any money from your use of these links. I just want to share the information...You're welcome, Nigel. ‪@ArmitageLeather‬

This video is probably geared more toward folks who are interested in putting together their own leather burnishing machine at an affordable price. So I recognize it will not appeal to everyone. The entertainment value is relatively low🙄. But I am hoping this will help many of you who are trying to find leather tool solutions.

@Wyoming Wright, I just discovered your little slice of RUclips, all good info but I went the same route as you did but instead, I used a new dual arbor Foley Belsaw motor from a key cutter machine $60. I had help adding an adjustable speed controller (generic Chinese) but I don't use it as much as I thought I needed.

Appreciate the video! Ordered everything you discussed and put one together myself! Been wanting one for a few years, didn’t want to pay $600 for the Cobra and didn’t want the cheap Amazon unit. This solution solved my problem and works great.. Thank you for the video!

Really glad you had a great harvest years and years ago we did that but were done with that now . Years ago I learned how to saddle stitch with Nigel great teacher not only teaches you how to stitch but what the different stitches do and why. that was on youtube but he's gone from there now on to more fruitful venues . Happy Trails
