    Thank you for your time on teaching us, I just hope that I may take to 80.00 basic course, i wish I had the funds for more advanced stuff, but for crad holders, belts basics, is enough for me, since I have to start from cero.... I am a woodworker, but this craft is also very relaxing, many thank ...God Bless you greetings from Mexico

    Unfortunately, you can't see the result of your efforts in any of the camera settings. Pity

    Do you dye your entire project first BEFORE burnishing or do you burnish first and then dye???

    I tried the gel, diluted 50/50 with water, three coats with several hours drying time in between. After drying, a certain stickiness remains even after several days. Resolene has the same problem. Have you had the same experience?

    What is your machine rpm rating ? I’m looking at my options, and want to be sure I get the right one.

    What is the 'gloss product' you are mixing with water to apply to the edges, and what is the ratio of that product to water? Thanks.

      It is "painters medium", it is an acrylic that artists mix with paints to make them thicker and add body. It is really strong and durable for edges. I don't have specific ratio, I just get it to look about like nonfat milk. If it is too thin it will take too many coats to get a good edge, if it is too thick it is hard to get it to apply evenly. But it's pretty forgiving and there is a lot of room in the middle where it works well.

    Do you ever use beeswax on your edges? If so, why? And if not, why?

    What do you line your belts with?

    • @AldensSchoolofLeatherTrades
      @AldensSchoolofLeatherTrades  5 лет назад

      For my normal tooled belts I line them with a 2-3 oz veg tan with a 9-10 oz top. With the filigree belt in this video I used a 5 oz top with a 5 oz liner to give it more structure when has the pieces cut out.
