White River M1 Sheath Build // Laser Cut and Wax Dipped
A horizontal sheath build for the White River M1...an ergonomic masterpiece. I think this build turned out really. nice. A tight fitting, streamlined design. You can hardly tell you're wearing it.
To be honest, guys, I'm not sure which direction to go from here. More sheath builds? More general leather working projects? More outdoor adventures? I guess I'll just keep building the things I love and take you along for the ride.
I'm working on a website and a Patreon right now. I will update my video descriptions accordingly. I really appreciate the support. Not sure why anyone would want to follow my quirky videos and projects. I hope I can keep offering something you find valuable.

No Talking No Music | Fixed Blade Sheath Build | Muela Bison

This is the quiet version of this sheath build. I have another version where I talk about the laser I used to cut out the leather and the kydex in this video. The laser is a game changer for leather working in general. The possibilities are endless and the efficiencies are greatly increased. I also talk about this interesting Kydex belt loop design. So please check out that video here: ruclips....

Join me for a short discussion about the relevance of these classic American made knives in a sensationalized, international knife market. I'm not really sure, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt...especia...

Give Your Axe the Handle It Deserves

Okay, so it's actually curled leaf mountain mahogany. But it is very similar to desert ironwood in both hardness and appearance. And it made a stunning handle for my old Cold Steel Trail Boss. Hey looks great! I'm wondering why you form the sheath by hand instead of using your vacuum press?

    • @wyomingwright
      @wyomingwright 9 часов назад

      Good question. I considered it but because the vacuum press has a hard surface, I would have to put a piece of foam in the press so the other side of the sheath won’t be flat and will actually form to the knife. I’ll try it at some point but didn’t want to experiment on a sheath I was building for someone else.

    Those are really nice buck knives, the 110&112. I carried the buck 110 when i was in the army from 95-04, then when i was with homeland security. Never had any problems with a well made buck knife. I still have and use my buck 110 to this day.The bees wax will prevent the leather sheath from drawing moisture from the air. And the bees wax will keep the rosewood handles protected, it's a win win. Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.

    That turned out really nice, the lazer cutter seems to come in handy for leather sheath making. I would say do what you love to do, film, edit and post it and people will watch what they want to. Thank you for taking time to build, film, edit and post this video. What's the learning curve on the Lazer?

    • @wyomingwright
      @wyomingwright 3 дня назад

      Thank you sir. Yeah the laser cutter is really nice to have. I actually think there is no way to get a cleaner stitch. And you can fit the sheaths almost perfectly to the knife so it makes the designs very light and efficient. I definitely had to work the kinks out with the laser, but the hardest thing for me was learning to design in adobe illustrator. Thanks for the comment! Happy Thanksgiving!

    You should absolutely put in for a warranty repair or exchange for your knives. I collect case knives and they have a horrible reputation over the last several years for putting out poor craftsmanship. Then you send it back it takes 6 weeks for them to fix it If they even get it right. It's so bad with most manufacturers you need to go buy your knives in person because you can't even order them online or they will show up messed up and then it takes months for the turnaround. Don't let them get away with it. Do a warranty RMA on your products and keep them accountable. Make a video on the knives that they send back!!!

Response) Exactly, now there are no knives in school and many other places and yet violent crime is high. They just want to control and disarm good people. The real crime is the government not abiding to the Constitution.

    Why do you go against the edge on the strop?

    • @wyomingwright
      @wyomingwright 13 дней назад

      You always want to pull the blade along the strop. The idea is to pull out any burs on the edge and put a bit of a polish on it. Pushing the cutting edge across the strop might actually roll your edge more. Definitely don’t want to put your edge into the power strop as it would likely catch the blade and throw it back towards you. You always want the cutting edge facing away from you with the top of the stropping wheel rotating away from you.

    • @morehn
      @morehn 13 дней назад

      @wyomingwright I see. I thought it looked like the edge was going against the strop, but that's just hard to see in a video. Do you have suggestions for a cheap belt grinder I can use for a leather belt strop? I'm finding my super high grit stones are simply not getting my edges perfect.

    I have two Buck knives that seem to be pretty much unheard of. One is a folding model like to 110 model, except mine has three inter-changeable blades (the standard blade, a skinning blade, and a bone saw blade). The other knife is a Buck Caribou Skinner. Both are great knives.
