we had a awesome not so local contractor that shut down power at the wrong adress 2 times before he got it right , then proceeded to rip a main underground power line while trenching in order to lay conduit - one big downside of chain trenchers compared to excavators , you have no chance to see if you fuck up before the sparks fly and the welding commences pork farm had the product of a week rott in the freezers until it was fixed and we all made a hasty excursion to the pond due to lack of cool ac first two times they shut of a whole HOA and then a chicken farm - the pork farm wanted a extension to build another huge pole barn across from the others
Better the power than a contractor demoing the wrong house. It was all over the news here last year. Woman came home from vacation to see her house in rubble.
I have watched you do a lot of digging, landscaping etc. over the past few years, but never realized how big that bucket is until I saw, on the inside camera, that when the bucket came through the ceiling and the tines touched the floor, the top of the bucket reached almost to the ceiling. Then as I pictured that bucket inside the room I was sitting in I said out loud, "WOW".
You guys joke about it, but sixty years ago I worked on and off for two brothers who owned a family farm. They lived in a two story house with no running water and a bare bulb light in each room that had surface wiring. They had a hand dug brick well in the back yard and on the other side of the house a good distance was the out house. At the end of a days work all us kids who did field work would gather on the front porch and one of them would go upstairs and come down with cash to pay us. I got some real funny looking bills that I had to ask the bank about. Some did not look real. Like a five dollar silver certificate. Another time I got a stack of one dollar bills that was from 1910, Real US dollars not federal reserve notes!!! Family must have known where it was kept because when the second brother died the house was broke into and the walls stripped by vandals looking for that hidey hole. Family must have got there first and taken it out. They never used banks in their whole life. Looking at that old house built in the 1800s you would never know.
Omg. Y’all crack me up. “The window was open. It was a little rotten. Can we fix it? ” If Mr. B. Doesn’t share the loot….raise your price on the next job….haha. Lol
Love this so much. Seeing the 220 come through windows & walls really does give a perspective of her huge size. And I doubled over when you & Geoff said the wrong power had been cut. That is something I would do: look at the mailbox. Who knew it was across the street! Thanks for sharing this, Chris. This was a fun ride.
When tearing an old house on folk's farm, discovered a newspaper from 1867! One story was about a crazy Frenchman who proposed digging a ditch thru central america someplace from Atlantic to the Pacific! Total looney tunes!!
History unfolds with these old buildings - sometimes it is amazing they stand so long. Neat demo and fun with the Bealy Goods as a bonus with plenty of cash already stashed.
The excavator kind of reminds me of a T-Rex devouring it's prey. Chewing it up and gulping it down. Especially the way Chris has his bucket and thumb configured.
A man in his element, creating a nice tidy, organized mess, one must be efficient no matter the project, or possibly redefining breaking and entering contractor style, gotta love it. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
The Academy Award for best Acting goes to Chris Guins in the Short Documentary Format. Accepting for Mr. Guins is Mr. Geoff Bealy.... And now a word from our sponsors Volvo Heavy Industries and Lets Dig 18.
I nearly fell out of my chair with laughter when you knocked the window in with the excavator.😂😂😂 TBO.. If that had been me.. I would have got to the front door, tried to open the door found it locked, so just step back and put my foot into it (a bit like Bandit did on the film Smoky and the Bandit at the Beer store.😅😅)
I’m sure the neighbors are glad to see that old eyesore torn down. I figured the scrap pile would have been bigger but there’s still several truck loads to haul off. That lot is going to look so much better once it’s all cleaned up. By the way, I really enjoy these longer videos.
I'm so gullible. I bought the locked door and find a window. Even briefly bought the excavator coming through. But then realized a camera was already in the house. And wouldn't crawl through a bunch of broken glass. Didn't buy the money box though. Yeah, have a little fun. And nice shot from inside.
I do demolition everyday, but I still love watching demolition videos. People might have thought it was silly checking for squatters, but it’s actually a big thing where I am. I’d say 1 in 7 times we actually have squatter issues to deal with.
In a shame to see history be tore down But that's part of life think of storys old house could tell if she could talk Lots of tears of joy an sadness Christmas newyrs days ect ect ect An things best kept private ha ha
There was some pink fiberglass bats in the first room where he had the camera inside on the floor. The insulation is in the debris pile. About 7:25 Not MUCH of it. Maybe 3 or 4 inches. But somebody tried a little.
The best one of these I have seen, is the one you and John did where there was a piano in the room and all of a sudden in one swoosh the bucket came all the way through the wall. I think you took clothes out of a closet all at once on the rod with the bucket! I also think you dug a pit to throw everything in and burned it. That bucket coming through the wall reminded me of the first "Jaws "movie! Really gave perspective the size of the bucket!
Back in the day, we always had a track loader on the jobs. After piling everything up, drive on top of the pile and turn circles. It would mulch all the wood into small pieces. Fills the trucks much better. Less loads. Keep the Great videos coming.
It's always a little sad.. it was somebodys'pride and joy, their home, their security. think of the songs that were sung, the laughter, the joy... the Christmas mornings.., the love shared..... sigh
That is why I like my area... rural places have an "address" for their house... which is beside the driveway... on a sign, officially for 911 services to quickly find it. Fun part of how they get in... and doing demo like that really shows how huge the machine is... when you compare it to the buildings.
Thats CRAZY that house was just sitting on cinder blocks. Well done on the money box skit. wouldn't it be nice to have happen one day? I absolutely love these demo videos. Today i'm living vicariously through you chris. hahahaha. Does Mr. B own the whole damm county or what?
Around a thousand years ago, a large Viking army invaded England and basically went on a sort of land-based pirate tour of the place over the next few years. Then they more or less decided to go home again, taking their time and working their way back along navigable rivers to end in Newcastle, thence back to Scandinavia. One of the overwintering sites was at a place in Yorkshire. I think I'm supposed not to say where it is, but it's just over the toll bridge, past the pub and north a bit from there on your left. Over the years a pair of metal detector guys have been basically pillaging this site, because those Vikings seem to have dropped an awful lot of trash, some of it quite valuable. On the other side of the river from this camp, other hoards of coins have been found. No gold, but plenty of silver. This is pretty much the case all over Europe; we're a scrappy, argumentative lot over here and we're forever getting into wars and whatnot hence there's quite a lot of valuable stuff buried before war and not returned to afterwards.
I found a leather envelope that was attached beneath the bottom shelf of a tiny tiny little closet in 150 year old Home 200 years old or more money that was printed who knows how long ago but it was $500 worth of $100 bills I said Civil War, era but everyone else said that they were called Silver certificate probably from the early 1900s I sold them to a collector for 300 on 100. Don’t really know what they were worth but as a collector to him, they were priceless
It is amazing that the house lasted as long as it did with the lack of decent foundations. Loved the key you used to gain entry to the house and the cash box.🤣 Another thoroughly enjoyable video.
1 time you made the comment that you enjoyed building ponds, you have to admit that this was a nice change, maybe almost fun. Good change of pace. Thank you Sir
That made short work of that house Chris...Imagine shutting the neighbours power off lol....Great how houses were built in that era....Stay safe and see you on the next one
Here I thought Chris would do a knock knock on the front door with excavator bucket. Looked like the vinyl siding was held on with scotch tape. Nice job.
😂 Chris you going to get a flat in your steel tracks from driving on that debris. Founding of the cash almost got me. But you'll reaction wasn't real enough. Lol good setup.
I commented yesterday about the line shafting and pulleys. There might be some interest in those from people who play around doing things the old fashioned way.
lol.. shut the neighbors power off.
What's that saying, "You had one job"!
😂😂😂😂
That actually happened to us when I was a boy. The neighbors left for the summer and we got our power cut off.
we had a awesome not so local contractor that shut down power at the wrong adress 2 times before he got it right , then proceeded to rip a main underground power line while trenching in order to lay conduit - one big downside of chain trenchers compared to excavators , you have no chance to see if you fuck up before the sparks fly and the welding commences

As Actors, don't give up your day job.
The inside video of the bucket coming through the roof was pretty Awesome
That's a really cool shot from inside the home of the demo.

Excellent idea to do the cash plant, the acting wasn't too bad either. But, the indoor GoPro was a great idea Chris!
such a joke !
Yep you are correct.
"The acting wasn't too bad"
Compared to what exactly?
🙃🙃
@@StubbyPhillips Duh!
I thought it was real! At first..
Omg. Y’all crack me up. “The window was open. It was a little rotten. Can we fix it? ” If Mr. B. Doesn’t share the loot….raise your price on the next job….haha. Lol
Interesting how the total amount of cash “found” in the box, exactly matched the actual charge by LetsDig18 to complete this chore…..

Who needs a key! I have an excavator!!
It's an ex-KEY-vator..!!
yeah but obviously they had a key to put the camera in before the excavator made a hole in the window

My inner child is disappointed a tree was not dropped on the house.
Chris, Tearing down that house with your 220 is sort of like swatting a mosquito with a sledgehammer!! Nice neat job though.
History unfolds with these old buildings - sometimes it is amazing they stand so long. Neat demo and fun with the Bealy Goods as a bonus with plenty of cash already stashed.
NICE INDOOR CAMERA SHOT~! From the business end🤣🤣

“Breaking and entering”… certainly BREAKING for sure‼️🙋♀️💖🇨🇱
I wonder how long he's been waiting to make that joke 😂
A man in his element, creating a nice tidy, organized mess, one must be efficient no matter the project, or possibly redefining breaking and entering contractor style, gotta love it. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Had the nieghbors electric turned off 😂😂😂😂 good way to meet the neighbors!!!!
I think I like house demolition almost as much as pond building.
Very good! When I saw the excavator bucket come through the window I laughed so hard I about pissed my pants. Great!!!!!!!
That shot from inside was fantastic. Keep Keep up the grate work and god bless you!

Another great demo!!👍👍👍
I worked as an operator for a large excavating company back in the day who got their start demoing houses with surplus WWII tanks. The good old days.🍻
No wonder the house was locked , all that cash in there.
I do demolition everyday, but I still love watching demolition videos.

Smart move! Someone could be sleeping in the attic! I’ve known of that happening!

That could have been good practice for the fire department !
Doesn't look like that house had no insulation at all.
It wasnt required back then. There were no building codes, and houses were heated with either woodstoves or oil, which was cheap as dirt until 1973
There was some pink fiberglass bats in the first room where he had the camera inside on the floor. The insulation is in the debris pile. About 7:25 Not MUCH of it. Maybe 3 or 4 inches. But somebody tried a little.
I could watch Chris do this all day

❤You didn’t film the loading of the truck? THATS THE BEST PART MAN
Hasn’t happened yet
Last video and next video. :)
So you didn't watch the video, huh?
Looking forward to seeing it in the next one. 💪
Great job very cool find love the inside view and the guys cracker barrel shirt 👍🏻
❤ the banter especially when Chris found d loot 😂
Hopefully you mined the old house of all its copper, brass & aluminum
Back in the day, we always had a track loader on the jobs. After piling everything up, drive on top of the pile and turn circles. It would mulch all the wood into small pieces. Fills the trucks much better. Less loads.

Oh, my...
I wonder what the 350 with the Griptor-attachment would do to a house like that...
Great shot from inside the house👍🏻
Loving the new demo cam Chris! Keep putting those camera's inside!
Can't beat the sound of the crunch of wood & metal being scrunched up .😊
It's always a little sad.. it was somebodys'pride and joy, their home, their security. think of the songs that were sung, the laughter, the joy... the Christmas mornings.., the love shared..... sigh
Watching Chris' hands in the reflection of the windscreen just shows how instinctively he operates the machine ... wow!! 😯
A little humour to get things started is always a good thing. 👍🏻
The cameraman never dies. Thats the rule. The guy who stayed behind to film from inside was protected.
Here's Johnny!
ETA: that house looks like it wasn't originally built for indoor plumbing. I'm actually curious if it was framed with square nails.
Love the inside camera shots. A bloody great steel monster just came through the roof!!!!
Chris you should get a tree and stump mulching machine so you don’t have to borne and you would make more money
You can tell you're very exprienced Mr Chris in taking care of any situation that comes up.👍👍
I am not sure what I enjoy more….Chris tearing down old structures, or setting a big old burn pile ablaze. Tom

That was fun. Seeing that box of money. Thanks
When the bucket came through the window someone should have said ‘Avon calling….anybody home?’ The bucket-thru-window was too funny. 🤣

Cinder.block foundations are widespread in the Southeast. Folks still do it that way.

That house was sure well past it's use by date bro. Great bit of horsing around at the start. Safe travels. Ken.

Holy crap. That bucket filled the room up when it came through the ceiling! lol
I like the camera on the inside of the house, imaginative.
It's a good thing you still got the small excavator, it's obvioussly useful for subtle jobs like tenderizing a house. Great video as usual

HAHAHA ... love the window opening and box of cash that was 'found'.
Very good job Chris and the Money take it and Run . and cut the Electric to the other House .
That old house did its job. In many cases the thought never crossed their minds about selling the home just the land.
Lol enjoyed so much 😊 l think I like building demolitions better than taking trees down 😂
Crunch,crunch,crunch!
