My question, which nobody seems to be able to answer including Toyota dealers, is will we be able to run an inverter or the climate control with the engine in ready mode and the engine only starting and stopping as needed to charge the hybrid battery?
This has been a big advantage of every other Toyota hybrid made and would be awesome for overlanding as you could use your truck as a source of power for your campsite, perhaps even to run a small air conditioner in extreme heat /humidity / bugs like we have in the deep South.... Usually all at the same time.
I love my Highlander hybrid and its ability to keep my dogs cool even in the heat of the day and my Prius has been the prime source of electricity for my off-grid homestead for the last year...I just wish I had a little more off-road capability

I'm sure you could as ready mode means that car is fully on and ready to drive so no reason why it wouldn't work the same.

Brian, I hope people don't flood the Comments section with complaints about the price. After all, the Trail Hunter and TRD Pro are luxury, lifestyle accessories like a $25,000 watch, designer handbag or vacation on the Riviera. Landscapers and tradespeople won't be giving them a second look. 😉

No it’s a pickup for hauling couches to camping gear. In the end it’s lipstick on a pig!
