    I’m inclined to roll my eyes when I hear about people with these “issues” (lol) but I realise it’s a very real thing. A friend of mine, raised in a single mother household with 2 other siblings, graduated from a top university (first one in her house to) with an Economics degree and went straight into an investment bank on a $45k starting salary (which is a lot in the U.K. to start with). Her Christmas bonus was almost $7k and she remarked to me at the time that since she started the new job she was so overwhelmed - she never had access to that much money in her life before. She was lucky and got clued up pretty quickly. She’s now on about $175k and is doing very well for herself. This wasn’t so much lifestyle creep as lifestyle jump out of nowhere lol. They just need solid guidance.

    • @TritoneTrickster
      @TritoneTrickster 4 года назад

      blah blah hey, I can’t speak from experience but a few of my friends (including the one above) who have Economics based degrees all say it’s one of the best decisions they’ve made so I guess that’s a good thing. Even better if you go to a good uni like Oxbridge/Russell Group Unis and so on...

Everytime I listen to someone else blindly, I've lost money and especially so with investing

Many people come out of the military and lack civilian job skills and training and a training company that is run mainly by donations but initially seeded by the caller's funds could be a meaningful way to giveback/donate without just donating money to causes they cannot control or really be confident the money is being used effectively. I always thought if I every got money, I want to create a global fund for children's surgeries. There are just too many kids out there needing medical care, such as dental work which literally affects the growth of their jaws and ability to chew propertly, along with things like cleft palate, etc.

    It’s weird, I make close to this amount, but support 10 people, so I still feel like I’m losing money every year instead of saving.

    Learn to fly. Buy a nice family plane. Get a nice house with a private runway. Go wherever whenever. Get some very nice toys, like a boat, motorcycle and whatever else.

    But I think he’s asking what to “do” with his life not what to do with his money. And if I was him: I love books (open a bookstore), I love coffee (open a coffee shop), I love learning and school (get other degrees), I’m passionate about certain social/relational issues (build something for others as a resource for them). That way if I’m bored maybe I’ll work at my coffee shop today or maybe I’ll go talk to people at my resource center who are struggling and continue learning about their lives...

    Wow, this guy really needed to ask advice for this? Clearly he's making enough to render himself immune to bankruptcy. After all, everyone knows that all the athletes and movie stars who make millions a year have never once gone broke.

    We started poor, but persevered, always living below our means, and still do, even in retirement. Annual retirement income c. 160k. 935sf 30 yr old house, paid cash...540k...4 yrs ago. Ok, ok, we live near the beach in san diego 😉. Cars not high profile, but bought new, paid cash. 1.2 mil in bank.
    We love fast food, costco pizza, yadda yadda. I buy my clothes at ross, tjmaxx, costco, marshalls.
    The mrs was a bank branch mgr, i a real estate appraiser (LOL, following a masters in music). Cant figure out why people's eyes are whoppingly larger than their wallets...shrug, shrug.
