Seeing Preach watch Luetin feels like a weirder crossover of my interests then when he played Persona 5.
So are we going to see Persona in Warhammer 40k crossover? Blame Preach for creating this connection. 🤣
The "every faction in 40k" series by Bricky is a good and fun introduction to general 40k lore and all the factions. it is a around 2 hours split in two videos and it quite funny and has been reacted to quite a bit. I would start that to get a good primer and I find it quite funny.
Ditto, and before anyone says anything, its not about 100% accuracy, its about giving the general gist in a funny, quick(relatively speaking) way
recommend the following channels for Warhammer 40K lore besides Luetin and Bricky:
- Arbitor Ian
- Chapter Master Valrak
- Weshammer
- Majorkill
- Occulus Imperia
Yep! That's the one that got me into the lore lol
excited for more people to watch Luetin, dudes a great storyteller
Luetin is the lore master. Baldermort is a great storyteller, Bricky is enthusiastic and fun, Majorkill is good for shorter-form content, but Luetin is the one if you really want to find something out.
@@SarthorS But pretty sure Luetin plays it fast and loose with the copyright strikes, same as templin institute, so youtubers/streamers are generally safer reacting to some of the others, specially bricky
@@ragnar97 That's the first I have heard that about luetin. I would be a little more willing to believe it about The Templin Institute because they come across as more of a company.
@@SarthorS I recall about 2-4 years ago several reactors stopped reacting to his videos, some them even took them down, explaining they wouldn't be reacting to them because he had given them a copyright strike and didn't want to risk their channel.
Maybe he's changed his outlook on things, this was before bricky came out with his "every warhammer 40k faction explained" video
Watched sam (strippin) binge lutein videos. Now I've gone and watched a lot more on my own. Love luteins content
Its adorable how Mike doesnt realize he's scratching the surface of a lore hole that makes a lot of the universes he actually likes look like wading pools
When you stare into the abyss ...
the abyss stares back at you.....
And that a lot of the universes he actually knows are merely ripoffs of warhammer with few letters of a name changed here and there to avoid copyright law
@@TheZMoviesthis☝🏻👍🏻
@@TheZMovies Yeah, Warcraft specifically has spun itself into something entirely different that he may not even be able to tell Warcraft was Warhammer, But he'll prolly say some stuff from Starcraft when he sees certain things in 40K taking awhile to realize they ripped off both for the most part.
The crossover none of us expected, but we all needed. What a glorious day for Preach to discover Warhammer 40k.
FOR THE EMPRAH!
The Moment preach realised there are more then 2 hours of Material on the emperor alone was gold. That's where a lot of people started, clicked the first video and never looked back while delving deeper and deeper into the 40k universe.
and the real fun part is that he didn't discover that Luetin actually has 5 videos on the Emperor with 6+ hours material so far. And the series isn't even finished. lol. The Emperor protects!
Seeing Preach fall head first into the unending rabbit hole that is 40k would bring infinite joy to me, and I'm sure many other 40k fans :D
Did not expect 40K on this channel. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Preach reacting to Luetin and 40k, oh this will be fun to watch :D
While I don't expect it, Preach getting into 40K stuff would be pretty sick. It's not just the tabletop game, there are some amazing videogames as well.
Rather than reaching out to Luetin for simple permission, you could probably reach out to him as almost an MSQ guide for stepping into 40k. He is a well regarded member of the 40k creator community and is kind of fills the same niche as My Name is Byf does for Destiny. There are other great creators in the space too, but Luetin is one of the most ideal.
Also as an aside, I was actually not the most active painter, but you can get them commission painted by a third party and that solution worked out great for me. I love looking at my models now.
Or if you still want to paint things yourself, you can watch a few videos about slap chop. A very quick miniature painting method that doesn't require much skill but still gives you reasonable results.
Luetin the GOAT
They must have farmers, yes, yes they do, the Imperium is an interstellar empire made up of millions of inhabited worlds, a part of those are agriworlds, worlds purely and only dedicated to creating food for the rest of the imperium
For those unaware, this is the 40k version of Nobbel and he's great
Maybe, though Nobbel rarely makes a long lore video. He's also not as serious as Luetin.
I would say Nobbel would be closer to Arch.
His reaction to Orks was pretty great.
Let's wait till he hears the tale of Tuska Daemonkilla x)
I did not expect to see Preach getting into 40k today but good lord I hope he takes it further. I found the 40k universe about a year ago and I've been balls deep ever since. It's so damn good.
Luetin is the Loremaster of 40k in youtube.
Pretty much.
The only one as good as him would be Arch.
@@IsmaelSantos-xv9qf Yeh but Arch is a hot potato thanks to screeching communists
@@QwertyBoredom122 Yes, but I, like him, hate all socialists, be them commies, nat socs, fasci, "anti-fasci", wokists or whatever they call themselves at any given time and place, so for me it's not a problem.
I see the Spawn of Hegel the same way the Inquisition's Puritans see Chaos Cults.
40k is fun, everything is at least 10 times over the top and they totally embrace it and roll with it.
Now I want Preach to watch Bricky's two videos explaining the Factions.
I SO want him to watch this!
I love listening to Luetin long form lore videos. I have watched them all several times over. This just gave me a lovely new desire to have preach just sit in the background of all my interests. While unexpected I loved this small crossover of my subscriptions.
Edit: To add I also have never done the tabletop. I love the lore primarily and have played a number of the RTS style games but 40k is mostly just engaging the many many years of lore.
Mike should be watching Bricky's warhammer faction, race first. But obviously Lutin is the holy brother of lore. And since Mike is a RPG fan, even if not a table top guy (like me) will easily get into WH40K.
EDIT : PIGMY PEOPLE ? MIKE... THATS THE EMPERORS FINEST SOLDIERS !!!
I still consider that this is the best introductory video for 40k. If this leaves you wanting to find out more, then Bricky's factions videos are a great next step.
I love he is making so many connections to what other fans been saying, Event Horizen, Dune, and the imperium are just the Skaven lol
I think the Bricky videos ("Every faction in 40k") is actually the best into next to Luetin. Luetin is your Nobbel, 100% lore and all the tidbits around it as presented by the setting itself, Bricky is like Platinum, his focus is entertainment while also trying to deliver accurate information
As a long time 40k fan and tabletop gamer it makes me smile to see you looking into the lore, not wanting to get into the miniatures or the game itself is completely fine as getting into the lore is a hobby in of itself, hope you enjoy.
"how much lore" the answer to the question no matter the specific subject is yes
getting into 40k is great, unlike most ips out there , there is a near endless supply of material you can absorb urself in. I been in the hobby for 7 years and haven't watched one lore video, i love reading it all my self, that way i'll probably never catch up, and thats fine. endless supply of great content
Welcome to the 40K hole! I recommend the following channels for Warhammer 40K lore besides Luetin:
- Bricky / Adeptus Ridiculous
- Arbitor Ian
- Chapter Master Valrak
- Weshammer
- Majorkill
If you want to learn about 40k, bricky is the way to go tbh. Great videos that explain the setting, and the factions, in an entertaining way
Is the Emperor dead? yes and no... and yes... but no
Yesn't
The Orcs are keeping him alive with their believe.
I never painted anything before starting to buy models in January of this year, and I absolutely love it. It’s relaxing and fun and you build towards a collection. The worst model you’ll ever paint is your first.
"who's feeding all these people? They must have farmers." If only agri-worlds were enough to feed the Imperium of Man...
The people feed the people
Litterally in some cases
You dont like some yummy corpse starch? lmao
Luetin09 is the GOAT of 40k lore and knowledge
Luetin09 is THE Loremaster on Warhammer 40k.
i think the best bit of lore for newcomers is the whole "land speeder" thing. So you'd think "oh right, so it speeds across the land, its a vehicle, the name makes sense" WRONG! It's named after Arkhan Land hence the "Land" speeder. Its pure comedy at its finest.
The one thing every newcomer to the Hobby needs to understand, is the upmost sincerity behind the phrase “The emperor protects”. In spite of all the worked and inadvertent evils of the Imperium of Man, the Emperor protects.
Never thought I'd see this. I found Bricky's content of the Warhammer timeline to be really fun and engaging, its what got me interested in 40k though I appreciate those videos are looooooooong.
Preach "I refuse to believe, if there is ever a god of lust - that it wouldn't be a guy."
Slaanesh: "Why not both?"
As a 40k player and painter I'm excited to listen to this one.
Only the try hards really dig into the spray paints, I'm still all brush and blend and manually mixing shading myself. But Preach, you can definately paint a mini, it's realy not hard and as you saw with the army pics a lot of people just go with just 2 colors. Just a base coat and highlights.
"Who's feeding all these people?"
Probably best not to know.
Actually farmers are some kind of low "nobility" and they are hold in high regard they can even chose various and join various factions. Also outside normal food people are feed corpse starch especially on hive cities and it is exactly that.
Id also recommend Bricky for some into baseline stuff, especially the Factions Explained and the Timeline videos.
at 24:14 "How much lore has this guy got?" Preach, Luetin has all of the lore. All of it.
"Oh there's 2 videos on The Emperor of mankind". Mmmm sweet summer child :/
WE'VE GOT HIM, BOYS!
Painting miniatures is immensely psychologically satisfying. It is not as difficult as you might imagine. And I bet you would really, really like it.
Ah, Preacher. I just KNOW you are going to LOVE 40k lore.
OH OH Preach youre gonna be falling into the ABBYSS Of Wh40k Lore, just like i did - I cant sleep without luetin anymore ^^
Needs to watch some Bricky!
The best part about watching people discover this story, is listening to all the history and such of all the races, and they get to the Humans. Then they are told what 40k actually stands for, and then all the shifts and mini-story arcs that say thousands of years, actually comes to the realization of it literally being thousands of years per arc. 40,000 Years into the future is a long time.
Your comment about liking Star Trek for example, even during the "Picard" Season 1 TV Show, they're still in the 2300's.
So while yes, it's possible that if you were to put Star Trek into the 40k timeline, the technology used is still considered "Dark Age of Technology" by 40k's definition. The Emperor appeared during the 29th Millennium. So roughly the timeframe of 29000. Compared to 2300. Loooooong time in the future. And that's where a massive majority of the history starts getting really interesting with 40k. But times before the Emperor are just as important as they outline things like the war between the men of Steel and the men of Flesh. (AI War)
Arbitor Ian has an awesome video that outlines a lot of the early history from the beginning, and it's fairly short considering it covers 40,000 years worth of major plot points.
I've recently been rewatching RollPlay Dark Heresy with TotalBiscuit and Geoff. I'm so ready for 40k
If Preach starts watching Luetin09 videos then he'll never wanna stop cause their so addictive
The Lore Master Luetin09
wtf is happening now Preach lookin at Warhammer.... hell yes!
To be fair, although Slaanesh is often depicted as female, it actually encompasses all genders, sometimes at the same time.
I love to see Mike going from "I like Star Trek" to dunking on the Tau (who are the most 'Star Trek' race in the setting). It's such a great example of what happens all over the fandom. In most settings, people would love the Tau... but because 40k is 40k, they're sitting next to the edgiest, over-the-top factions ever in 40k and seem so lame by comparison.
I check in once in awhile. Holy crap man hair looks great. Like wow thats some real progress and probably inspires alot of people. Cool stuff
BRICKY FACTIONS VIDEOS AND LEGION VIDEOS
And so it begins... :D
WATCH BRICKY PLZ!! lol
Just a heads up to Preach and anyone else that's interested. There's a CRPG releasing on the 7th that's set in the 40k universe. It's based on the Rogue Trader pack, and it's looking pretty amazing. It's one of the few games I've completely bought the hype for.
"Humanity stands on the edge of annihilation" yet every single story about them I come across in this setting is them never actually losing. Human-main character plot armor bashing- aside, warhammer both 40k and the other one are both pretty dope.
Humanity rarely wins. For the most part, they merely survive the latest major threat or delay it while suffering devastating losses.
Humanity never wins, Humanity merely survives. Usually through sheer pigheaded determination and frightening weight of numbers
The only people who pretty much ever win is the Orks, because they're the only ones who are at least enjoying themselves while the galaxy burns....
Never losing? Well what about fall of Cadia or Noctis Aeterna that chop off like half of imperium? Yes on personal level heroes win but overall imperium is still in decline and loosing even after gains of idomitus crusade
"If there was a god of lust they would for sure be a guy"
Making a lot of assumptions about what equipment Slaanesh is packing there, Preach.
Listening to Preach read out that intro is like having the star wars intro to Coronation Street
Luetin09 is the Master a storyteller of the Warhammer 40k universe lore and the tales are wild and dark but so damn good. Once your sucked in, every other game lore seems inferior to Warhammer 40k. There is another guy called Bricky who also tells some really great Warhammer 40k stories and he does some awesome videos for which he has a few starter vids that does an awesome job in breaking up and explaining All the factions in the 40k universe and its solidly a great primer to the 40k universe. Bricky has a 2 parter video for that and it’s by no means short, but it’s so damn good time seems irrelevant watching and listening to it. Preach make no mistake, The Emperor of Man lore is very vast.
Now this is a crossover I did not expect
"It is depressing" - my friend it is the universe that coined the term Grimdark. Also - it's dark humour, everything sucks so much that it gets utterly bizarre and absurd in the end.
just a note, there is around 450-460 books about warhammer (520 if you count the audio only books aswell)
I hope Preach has a dedicated stream to watch Brickys Every Faction in Warhammer 40k. People will try to say it's inaccurate because a detail or two isn't completely explained, but that's not the point of the video.
It's supposed to give Preach a jumping off point so he has a better understanding when exploring Warhammer 40k. Something to simplify what they're about, that way when you go indept about "The Horus Heresy" you at least understand "Ah one of the emperor's children who betrayed him. How did this happen in detail?"
Be sure not to overwhelm newcomers with a Novel of information :) simplify at first, than go into detail when they want to dig in.
I started looking at 40k about a week and a half ago and then preach starts too, it's fate!
It's kind of surprisingly that Preach as a gamer/geek knows so little about 40k. He's going need to buckle up for this ride.
Yes! More
welcome to the sprawling lore of warhammer 40k.
Interesting, I was just looking at the 2023 introductory set on Amazon when I saw this get uploaded. lol
Baldemort is fun too. 40K is dark enough you can hold your hand in front of your face and barely see it.
Crossover i never knew i needed. Also to answer the question about who feeds all these people....(as is come answer for 40k the ridiculous one is normally correct) There are plants called Agri-World which are literally just for Farming.
I really hope Preach gives painting a try. He may find out he enjoys it
hope we get more preach reacting to 40k
Whelp. I can't wait to see what army he builds.
There are two sides to 40K. There is the "Plastic Crack" painting and playing the models. Then, there is the lore surrounding it. Both have a following. I am on the lore side. As I have not touched a figure on 30 years.
"1000 souls die every day" sounds like the kind of voodoo Preach is pulling to somehow be aging in reverse..? How does he look YOUNGER NOW than he did in the OG live action Legacy Of vids!
When it comes into going into the miniature side i always point to the Christmas Boxsets GW puts out called Battleforces.
They are packets of small armiers, usually meant for the skirmish format of the game, but are always cheaper than buying the same force piece meal.
I mean they are still around 250-280 bucks, so definitely not for everyone.
Looking healthy brother keep it up
decades of lore awaits. enjoy
Would love to see preach play some more Warhammer games, like Space Marine and Darktide
Imperium shoots everything on sight because... everything else shoots everything on sight or even worse.
and down we go the warhammer rabithole Lore
I hope preach does a deep dive of warhammer 40k, its actually in my top 3 favorite universes.
Love me a good, war40k reaction vid!
Black rattle can from below, white straight from above, and then Contrast Paint on top. Anyone can paint a miniature.
The table top is fun, but expensive and you need a place near you that has lots of players. My city used to have a couple, it was mostly Magic and other cards games but warhammer was there as well. I still have my start of what was going to be my Drukhari army, but people lost interest and went to college/their own way and stopped playing even minor games. That happens sometimes though. I am talking 20 year old models from way back when, and I still have my Orks from fantasy from that time as well. I will always treasure them.
i love this timeline
Preach has finally found the same hobby I found after WoW now 12 years ago.
I'm in a trippy fever dream right now.
Preach reacting to Luetin09 Slannesh would be very pleased: Perfection.
Luetin has some of the best 40k videos however most of hes videos are not as beginner friendly but they are very good for ppl with a basic understanding of 40k.
There is however another yt creator (Bricky, Every single Warhammer 40k (WH40k) Faction Explained) that has what i would say is a near perfect 2 part video series for new ppl that wanna know the foundation of how 40k works with its factions, lore and abit of tabletop info aswell. This is easily the best video for new ppl to watch to understand how this world works and then move into Luetin videos being more specialized and indeapth. 24:57 Is the Emperor dead? well that entierly depends on how u define being dead. Once u se him u will understand.
YES
Ah sweet summer child you got the read Eldari history to learn about God of Lust :)))
Oh my God yes
Preach! You should watch Bricky's video on 40K, very informative and fun lore on most of the factions!
40k is my favorite fantasy setting.
Bricky's 40k videos next?
