    "I want you to describe it without using the word bad"
    "I woudn't say it was great"
    Hahaa that part killed me 😂
    Mahwish if you see this: please don't be so hard on yourself. You are doing amazing and your driving has improved so much! It's completely normal to make mistakes, that's the best way to learn. Stay positive and you'll get there very very soon. 🥰

    Not knowing your journey and what point you're at in your learning, you seem a very confident driver. Great spacial awareness (except for that one kerb) and only some minor changes and tweaks required to your driving to fix observation. Don't be so hard on yourself, you kept calling yourself stupid and you're not, you're just learning. Everyone else on the road sees those big, red 'L's on the car, so they expect mistakes. It's okay not to be perfect. And you said you understand all the mistakes you made, that's important, as well as using the feedback to make sure you correct those mistakes in future, one step at a time.
    You have a great instructor and you have all the tools to be a great driver 👍

    I did around 20h with an instructor no mock test no emergency stop practice not bonet explanations just watching videos online and did some driving with my dad sometimes and again 2-3 days before my exam . I failed first time because i forgot my signal on for some time on a motorway it was raining a lot no minors then i had the same instructor second time and passed no minors so serious faults it was everything perfect. Im very confident and i thank my dad a lot of teaching me how to drive and thank you to my instructor who took his time to explain how english people drive (me being from europe) its very different there people in the uk want things done as in the book as an example in Romania we dont check blind spots only mirrors we dont have check points no matter what u overtake u need to signal and so on. When im driving now i feel like i got my license years ago i got used to drive as english people do because i see how safe it is❤

    Something to reccomend is wearing contact lenses instead of glasses when driving. As someone with poor eyesight, I found that I would cut corners and have a wrong perception of situations on the road as I drove with glasses on. Whereas lenses give you that same even vision, even in your peripheral. Definitely something to recommend, it may help Mahwish significantly.

    Mahwish can already drive the car and could probably pass her test. Just needs to be less dependent on the instructor telling her what to do. She knows all the stuff she needs to, once she is properly watching and reacting to what is happening around the car she would pass.

    • @Daminionz
      @Daminionz Месяц назад +1

      Not knowing about engine braking, cutting corners, not properly checking mirrors, selecting the wrong gear multiple times, poor judgement on safe parking spaces (the last one could be forgiven I suppose) But the other ones are pretty serious things, if you're not aware of them you're just going to be a dangerous driver if you're given a licence.
      She also seemed to show lack of care at times, being told not to cut corners but still cut them, still selecting wrong gears and so on... There is a lot more depth to her issues than you make out. I don't think she's ready for an exam at all, seen much better drivers still fail their exams.

    OK Mahwish let me describe it without using the word "bad", some of it was good, some of it was a bit panicked! Don't stress about the mistakes, we all make them. I'll let you into a secret don't tell anybody! Last week we had temporary traffic lights, they changed to red as I got to them. I put the handbrake on and popped my car into neutral, then I watched myself stick the clutch back in and select first and let the clutch out, DOOMPH! I actually said out loud "what the hell did you do that for" You're doing really well despite that you've had that break. Just relax I can see the driver you're going to be. Looking forward to your next video.

I then didn't drive for a little over a week and when I resumed my lesson I stalled trying to move off because I lifted clutch too early plus I messed up the order of the POM routine. Shows what I am rusty about. When I'm a bit anxious I have a tendency to be 'soft' with controls: not steering fully, not breaking progressively, not pressing clutch enough (i let it push me off :O)

    Good Lesson for Mahwish.😊
    i haven’t driven in over a year now.😮
    Test in September in a few weeks and need to find a instructor.😅
    She had plenty of hours as she had around twenty hours with another instructor; so a good plan to want her to be independent.
    Many Learners learning Manuel would have had this problem of forgetting to change gear back to first gear in gear one when moving off
    20:02 remarkably this would be a driving test fail too.😂
    Even though she did the correct thing in waiting in give way line and stopping car completely.

    • @misaq9606
      @misaq9606 Месяц назад

      @BALHAM69 Месяц назад +1

      @@misaq9606 once she moved onto the main road - Mahwish slowed down the car that was behind this car which was moving into the side road she was pulling out on.
      Which explains why she say “oh my gosh, where did he come from”
      Junction observations is the number one most reason why many fail they say
      She slowed the car behind which is why she failed (which yes this is only a lesson. This would be a fail on a uk driving test for intervening with other cars when driving) and why Aman say in red, watch second car.
      Hope this makes sense a little more in understanding.
      hope this helps a little

Driving requires a lot of actions done simultaneously, and it's normal to learn them one by one. Today you learn this, tomorrow that, then work on this and that and eventually you'll be doing it all without thinking. Don't put yourself down for not magically knowing things, praise yourself for learning them!😊

    I'm curious, do you teach your pupils to signal every time before moving off from the side of the road ? I noticed a couple of times there were cars coming past and she still put the right signal on, its a misleading signal, it says she intend to pull out and may cause other drivers to react. Given that the DVSA use the same standards for examiners throughout the country, I find it odd that you haven't been pulled up for your pupils doing this. As I've commented before, I'm an ADI so it's always interesting to see these very old methods of teaching still being taught today. Ive been an ADI for 32 Years and this automatic signalling for moving away was dropped even when I learned to drive in the 1980's. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts.

    might be a silly question but is it okay to move from second to first gear (like at a slow/tight turn) while still moving? i've had conflicting advice where someone suggested that you shouldn't move back to first at all unless the car is stationary or you could damage the gears

    do you find it strange when pupils dont apologise for making mistakes? im always so apologetic when i make a mistake

      From one apologetic to another, you're apologising too much if you're saying sorry for every single mistake. Your instructor would have no hard feelings. It's part of their job to expect mistakes from learners.
      I know. Easier said than done to not apologise for everything.

      I've used to apologise quiet a lot for my mistakes during driving lessons. My instructor has always responded "No, don't apologise. You don't have to apologise. I am ur instructor. I don't tell you about your mistakes in order to get an apology from you. I'm telling you about them so you can learn and grow as a driver." 😁❤️
