The fact that we kept getting "side tracked" from the original goal is actually a characteristic of Dr. Stone. We have to reach many smaller goals in order to get to the big final goal, that's part of what makes it so interesting and engaging. Also, Gen is my favourite character, I love that morally ambiguous bitch
Gen looks so suspicious but he's actually the best ally Senku got. without him, they won't be able to have enough time for Senku's shenanigans. he managed to turn lots of people into Senku's allies by reverse psychology
Someone mentioned that the reason why the Senku's Bulb light's is that bright is because have no obstacles from others light sources, thus making it even visible from space.
That light scene is so emotional. I always get goosebumps watching it. Thinking about what happened stole all of the wonders and hard-work our fellow human beings, that's just wrong. Senku here is saying our world is bright, and through science people don't live in the dark anymore as a metaphor of all the discoveries and inventions made. We did not make it this far just for some jerk to steal it from us.

The light bit was so beautiful! Makes me cry 😂😂 I guess we can see lots of lights all over the place from space these days just from our electrical world but showing that one light from space being so bright because it's the ONLY one in the world right now? As a note, the bright light is a little exaggerated, but not that much since it’s the first light in the complete darkness the world has seen in 3,700 years so it stands out.
Gen is one of my favorite characters, love that you like him! And the lightbulb scene gets me every damn time - that was the first time it really hit me that these are the only people left, that all the big cities are gone.
