I feel like he fits better in skramz or old school emocore like City of Caterpillar, Pg.99, Saetia, Orchid. He plays heavier than what the rest of the band plays. Although, that makes it refreshing. Honestly I wish I could hear Steven Buttery (the drummer) lay down some tracks on a heavier project because tbh I'm not a big fan of TWIABP even though I've seen em live and listened to all their stuff. Steven though. I mean check out the band on his shirt. Cerce fucking destroys. I feel like TWIABP holds him back.
I love it. On the audiotree full session that this band did, people were calling him some “godless heathen” just because he talked about atheism. That’s so screwed up. But this song is so fucking good. And I love that spoken word stuff.
***** Austyn Goldring If that's really all you got out of the entire spoken word sequence I'm really sad for you there's so much more in there beyond the fact that he doesn't believe in god jfc not believing in god doesn't make you a fedora-wearing "friendzoned" atheist piece of shit. Maybe I am overreacting to your silly joke, in fact I know I am, but it bothers me to no end when people boil things down to their most trivial components and choose to misunderstand for the sake of humor.
I'm standing on the precipice. It's a cliff that I've prayed on before, So much so that, despite the fact that I don't believe in a God anymore... my fingertips... they bare callouses. My palms... they bare callouses from pressing together so tightly. I pray hard. When I pray. To absolutely no one. I've often thought that this maw in front of us was the end of everything. A darkness that would consume all. A black hole. Do you know that we are made up of the same stuff that makes up the stars? So what flows through us isn't just blood. But stardust. We are dying. Every second. Of every minute. Of every hour. Of every day. Brings us closer to that final minute. That final second. That final breath. Which means when we run out of hydrogen. We become supernovas. Or giants. It's not that... that we are simply stars. Whose ill-fated courses end in collision. Either way... either way we'll explode. With this in mind I reconsider the precipice. There's something beautiful in it's blackness, isn't there? Something beautiful in it's persistence. It's swallowing us all. The end. The end of everything is the beginning of a brand new everything. The end of this universe. May mark the beginning of a brand new one. So that even now, when my heart... When my heart feels like the most congested intersection. The world.... the world that is awaited . I reconsider the precipice. And so in an effort to take part in reckless acts of self definition... I jump. And I'd ask you to join me. As we fall, let that beautiful blackness take us into it's arms. I know that I will be safe in them. I knew that we, you and I, will be safe in it's embrace.
Thank y'all so much for your music. My husband nd I discovered tall 2weeks become he committed suicide. He loved y'all's musician ship since he was a drummer he especially loved the rheumatics. Thank you, your songs remind me of him. And help me feel like he is near.
I'm sorry but every time this guy talks it reminds me of that Tim and Eric bit where the two guys wearing turtlenecks talk about the universe. I'm just always anticipating for the guy to start talking about throwing stars in hot dog buns.
Dude I think the same thing every time I watch I it! I want to watch Ari, watch this, after eating some mushrooms , while listening to a surround sound system, turned up as loud as it can go.
There’s 3 guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, a keys/synth player, the main vocalist, and the spoken word guy but he was only there for 1 of the tours they did
The intro was beautiful, and reminded me of my own thoughts as a younger man. But now I feel like it's little more than whistling in the dark with sentimentality. In terms of songs, ZAO's "Everything You Love Will Soon Fly Away" is much more honest about the nature of what the singer is talking about. If there is no God, there is nothing. For me, this hopelessness was a step to me coming to search for God, and ultimately finding life in Christ-- to a radiant hope that will not fade. Anyways... I love the song, and wish everyone here peace and strength in whatever journey you're on.
How have I never heard this before? The Spoken word part was amazing! It reminded me of La dispute, and it gave me the chills, I actually thought the guy with the main vocal line was weak compared to the rest of the song. Either way, I am now officially a fan!
The spoken word stuff enhances the performance. sure we all love the post rock feel of everything but they wanted to fill that void with something even more creative which is this guys spoken word material. hes great at what he does and the band is great so stop arguing and enjoy the music they offer. remember they didnt have to put this up at all.
I honestly had mixed feelings about the spoken word parts, thinking that they were cheesey, but I found myself relating to it a lot, especially the bit about praying.
Liked it until the dude at 1:00 started talking jargon. Love the music. I would love to sit in the middle of this room and listen to just the musicians. Very powerful music from talented musicians. Thanks Audiotree Live for showing me another band I am interested in hearing more of.

Poetry in itself can be referred to as jargon, because half the time we'll never know what the poem is really about, or what it means to its author.

You guys do know that the vocalist isn't really "new"? He sang lots of parts on Whenever, If Ever. Although I agree that it sounds strange to hear him sing the parts that the old vocalist did. David doing "Gig Life" is just not the same
What kind of genre would you classify this music? Also, the guy who did the spoken word, is that the only thing he does? Lol he sat down for the rest of the video.
all the people who are complaining about the spoken word need to open their mind and realize this is refreshing as heck from the generic crap that the industry is spewing out. This is so damn rad.

This drummer is in the perfect genre, hes going hard.
I feel like he fits better in skramz or old school emocore like City of Caterpillar, Pg.99, Saetia, Orchid. He plays heavier than what the rest of the band plays. Although, that makes it refreshing.

dude the DRUMMER THO beast mode always on
When he sings "when will I see you again" it brings me to tears every time
I have a lot of respect for these guys for the simple reason that they are unapologetically themselves. That takes guts.
This is one of the most beautiful things ever recorded...
its my fav drummer , that dude has the groove
Love the drummer.
This real music. These are real musicians. This is absolutely beautiful.
50/50 on the spoken word parts, but when it fits together so well as shown in the video it's hard to dislike it.
+Trash Boat eyy you end up changing your name back to rigby ( love regular show)
Love the evocative nature of their songs. Truly beautiful and unique. And the slowdown @6:38 is a whole lot of YES.
Am I the only one that enjoyed the spoken word part? Gave me chills along with the intro.
I really enjoyed that as well, thought it was very cool!
it was the best part tbh lol
Loved it man, maybe give Listener a listen too if you like spoken word :) (Listener - Wooden Heart is a rad song :P)
I love it. On the audiotree full session that this band did, people were calling him some “godless heathen” just because he talked about atheism. That’s so screwed up. But this song is so fucking good. And I love that spoken word stuff.
Its really good, anyone got the lyrics from that part?
Guy at the beginning: "In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence."
haha, thought the same exact thing.
*pulls fedora over forehead*
Eh, all he said was that he doesn't believe in god anymore, that doesn't really mean he's a neck beard

Zakariya Houacine yeah dude, you're seriously overreacting to my joke. I just found the spoken word a little pretentious, that's it. I do like TWIABP.
***** *strokes neckbeard*
this is one of my favorite videos
I come back to listen to this a few times every year, I wish it was released on Spotify 😭
You trippin dawg, it’s been on Spotify for years. Tf?
Beautiful.. absoluteamazingly beautiful!!

I know that I will be safe in them.
I knew that we, you and I, will be safe in it's embrace.
i will be forever greatfull of you... sorry for my bad english but i sure understand alot of what you'd say.. love from brazil

"...and if new born babies could speak, they'd be the most intelligent people on earth"
i cringed hard on this part. but the performance is amazing
I saw these guys live and they were probably the best act I've every seen. Their instrumentals and lyrics are just beautiful
That spoken word stuff…I had chills.

I love this! The spoken word part is beautiful.
Musical rollercoaster. Love it.
i do not know them at all but DAT guy with drumm sticks!!!!!!! he is absolutely amazing
the opening spoken word is freaking beautiful
Thank y'all so much for your music. My husband nd I discovered tall 2weeks become he committed suicide. He loved y'all's musician ship since he was a drummer he especially loved the rheumatics. Thank you, your songs remind me of him. And help me feel like he is near.
I think the spoken word made it so much better. It helped further solidify the message of the song and the band, I think. Anyone know who that guy is?
amazing as always
Pheww, such a pretty song!
I freaking love this band with all my heart
ugh, love.
Their drummer is sublime.
Just incredible. No other word for it
Powerfull Stuff, had me hooked the full 8 mins.
This is amazing!!!! Best thing I've ever heard.
I'm sorry but every time this guy talks it reminds me of that Tim and Eric bit where the two guys wearing turtlenecks talk about the universe. I'm just always anticipating for the guy to start talking about throwing stars in hot dog buns.

So lovely it gave me chills
Well isn't this just incredible! Awesome stuff
THIS IS SO PERFECT THANK YOU GUYS FOR THIS RECORD
What a shame that the microKORG is so low in the mix. Those synth melodies at 5.35 are really great
this is art i love it
This version is amazing
I loved the intro and holy shit that drummer is awesome!
This is breathe taking
This is great!
Dude, Ari Shaffir's new band is awesome.
+erique johnson After watching the video I'm still convinced it's him
Dude I think the same thing every time I watch I it! I want to watch Ari, watch this, after eating some mushrooms , while listening to a surround sound system, turned up as loud as it can go.
That's the good life!
Lmao I thought the exact same thing
I watch this video once a week
Steve Buttery is the best drummer in the whole indie/emo scene. 10/10
Brendan Myles What about Dave Haik from Pianos though? That guy's a machine.
jeremiah green of modest mouse (RIP) or oli craven from crash of rhinos beat steve i think but his drumming is great
Im not trying to compare great talents but Chris Collis from TTNG definitely deserves some recognition.
speechless.
WOOOOooOOoHHhhHHh! Goosebumps! DAMN.
Awesome Weatherbox shirt up in there.
Nice job guys.
Do they have 4 guitarists?
There’s 3 guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, a keys/synth player, the main vocalist, and the spoken word guy but he was only there for 1 of the tours they did

nice cerce shirt
i love the spoken part
I fuckin love you guys.
That spoken word stuff was the best thing about this! Without that it would have just been pretty normal post rock kind of stuff... Amazing!
Holy fuck, the drums.
Astrophysics music. Love it.
Liked it until the dude at 1:00 started talking jargon. Love the music. I would love to sit in the middle of this room and listen to just the musicians. Very powerful music from talented musicians. Thanks Audiotree Live for showing me another band I am interested in hearing more of.
check out their ep titled "formlessness" some of their best work
smorgy I totally agree, I bought it at one of their shows and I gotta say, it was money well spent.
Duuuuuude I loooooooooooooooved the spoken word stuff.

By any chance does anyone know the name of the Spoken Word Artist in the beginning?

Spoken word in MY emo?
Stop being plebs, this is great, I wish the album had that.
Could someone write all what the guy said it when the song begun?
you just know it smell crazy in there
quite possibly the edgiest song ever written
You guys do know that the vocalist isn't really "new"? He sang lots of parts on Whenever, If Ever. Although I agree that it sounds strange to hear him sing the parts that the old vocalist did. David doing "Gig Life" is just not the same

^false, im on more than just that song
The World Is.... you mean WR right?
NO
***** What the hell is WR?
The World is a Beautiful Zach Galifianakis and I am No Longer Afraid to be Between Two Ferns.
What kind of genre would you classify this music? Also, the guy who did the spoken word, is that the only thing he does? Lol he sat down for the rest of the video.
Nishanth Moses It's emo/post-rock
They did a collab album w/ him. he's not a permanent member in the band so he kind of features on some songs
An interview with the band determined they consider themselves indie-rock.
all the people who are complaining about the spoken word need to open their mind and realize this is refreshing as heck from the generic crap that the industry is spewing out. This is so damn rad.
Can someone send me the transcript to the spoken word part at the beginning???
I wish they recorded the talking bits on the album, holy fucking christ.
can someone please pass me the lyrics from the beginning, the spoken part?

what Gibson's are they using? i really need to know
SG and a Les Paul double cutaway, if I'm not mistaken. The other guitar is a Reverend Charger HB with a humbucker in the bridge and a P90 in the neck.
Anyone know what kind of synth is being played?
It's a microKORG, I've been trying to save enough money to pick myself up one. I had the chance to play one and they are amazing...
What kind of guitar does the guy with the yellow plaid have?
+Ellescer ™ it's some kind of danelectro
+Ellescer ™ Pretty sure it's a Reverend Double Agent OG
