- Whaz UP my dear boys and girls it's your PRB12 here and once again: WELCOME to another review of Pokemon horizons! 8D With Episode 14 we kinda hit a landmark moment with one of our main characters Roy catching his VERY FIRST POKEMON! But besides that we also had some great action with Friede VS Spinel of the Explorers!
But now Roy reallly reminds me A LOT of ash! xD Wanna know why? then GRAB some popcorn, GRAB some cookies and LET'S DO THIS!

I'm glad to say that after last weeks ep which some people didn't seem to like, This weeks episode was AWESOME! =D

This episode was indeed good with its dramatic ups & downs in how the episode unfolded & its outcome. But speaking of last week's ep though, I am glad that YOU were one of the very few poketubers that were actually positive & happily enjoyed said-episode; and I am very much grateful for it
Roy following ash's dreams really makes this a great episode!
Bold prediction, but hear me out. I strongly think that Liko's first capture will be snom in Galar. This is bc snom is a popular internet meme, but it also loosely ties to her pendant. The baby tarapogos protects Liko and it looks like part of Liko's goal (vaguely speaking) will be to protect the environment (or at least do so in the process of obtaining her goal), returning the baby torapagos''s favor. This was hinted in episode 11 and 12. Frosmoth is a pokemon said to be a gardian of maintains, and meadows. Plus, Liko and Roy together are designed to vaguely parallel ash (when combined). For example, Rpy has the hat while Liko was the hair clip that resembles the pokemon league logo. Roy caught the bird while Liko will batch a caterpillar pokemon. Plus, they are going to Galar next so this is very possible.
It's not looking to good for the show now because the Spices that Murdock was talking about were Herba Mystica and he was holding some of them in those bottles but he couldn't find the Spicy Herba Mystica which is harder to find which means that Arven storyline will be different than the game!
Now I'm worried about Team Star because if they're disbanded in Pokémon Horizons Series means that Penny storyline will be different which fans will get a bit upset!
@@tomkarate1 If I'm being honest for any of Liko's future team members, she really needs a new pokemon member to her team that is proficient in Speedy Mobility and/or Flight so she can have the means to get away from her pursuers if she's ever by herself & is being pursued.
- Albeit though it's gonna be hard seeing a Snom appear since we will be in Motostoke with Kabu; unless wherever Snoms appear in the wild happen to be near any castles since that's where Liko's Grandma is

Okay, I take back every single bad thing I've ever said about him,roy is the bestest boy ever!
Helping wattrel overcome it's fear was a big step in Roy's development as a trainer. And it finally paid off in the end,where this boy made one of,if not the most heroic captures in the pokemon anime. Murdock was also a big highlight in this episode, he's the best uncle for both roy and liko.
Roy is amazing to help wattrel like that!

Something to point out is that Spinel's beheeyem was spying on Liko and Murdock when they were talking about the spices and that's how he managed to lure Liko into the dark alley where he stole her pendant.
Murdock was talking about Spicy Herba Mystica which is harder to get and he was seen holding the other Herba Mystica which were in those bottles he had!
That part gave me chills 😮
That shot of Friede terastylizing kinda has a hold on me ❤️

Looks like Roy's Wattrel (besides its smaller size to regular Wattrel) is taking after Iris's Dragonite; i.e. meaning that unlike the look of its regular species, it has the squinting glare as its usual facial expression.
You're right I totally forgot to point that out. I also like how he kinda has a signature pose as well xD
Roy's Wattrel could be a baby Pokemon because baby Bird Type Pokemon don't know how to fly yet!
Wattrel may have hatched out of it's egg beforehand and stayed in the nest for a while but eventually it's Parents or another Wattrel was trying to get the little Wattrel out of the nest which could explain why it was Afraid of heights all because of little Wattrel falling out of it's nest!
I really enjoyed this episode. From Roy catching Wattrel to Friede Terastralizing his Charizard, this episode was great. I’m giving this episode a 8/10.
The nice attention to detail in this episode is that Roy's Wattrel is actually smaller than the other Wattrels. It might contribute why it was afraid to fly in the first place as new fledglings are usually afraid of heights and flying when they are making their first flight.
I really enjoyed this episode, particularly Spinel and how sneaky and competent he plays it. Having his Pokemon attacking Friede remotely and then wiping Liko's memory as he takes her pendant, they don't really know who to even look for.
(Tho I do feel he could have kidnapped her right then and there, since he's brainwashed her. He could have just teleported back to the Explorers HQ and she'd have come to with no recollection or idea what happened to her, but I guess he doesn't view her connection with the pendant as important as Amethio did?
Yeah Spinel really is such a scheming guy hiding in the shadows and tbh I really love it xD
But yeah that was actually one of the things that kinda confused me since he's supposively spying on the RVR constantly so he should know the connection between Liko and the pendant and therefore the necessity of having liko with the pendant. Maybe they will reveal his reasons in the next ep ^^
From what we can tell based on Spinel's observation, he only seems to be aware of the pendant pokemon's significance; as he doesn't seem to be aware of Liko's relevance in her connection to the pendant & said-pokemon

Roy's main flaw is that he lacks of empathy and observation, as seen by how he didn't care about Brassius' feelings, nor was in sync with Fuecoco once Taunt kicked in.
Training Wrattel was a nice step towards his growth. If Friede represents an adult Ash, I like to think of Roy as an egoistic version of him.
Speaking of Friede, instead, the Dark-type is usually associated with anthihero traits. Could this mean that, just like Charizard, Friede hides a darker side of his personality that only the closest people to him (or, maybe, only his Pokémon) know about?
As well as that is supported that Ash was always to have been stated that he doesn't really have any affinity traits to Dark-typing due to his character; but looks like here we can see it shown in his additional successor in Friede
This episode really was amazing and I loved how Roy saved Wattrel by catching him. Really shows the result of all the Rock throwing he did during his debut 😊
Albeit when after Liko's turn for a capture, Friede & the other Tacklers really do need to give Liko & Roy their own set of pokeballs to carry & have on-hand
I love how Wattrel has hints of Ash's Tailow mixed with dawn's Piplup, I miss when Pokemon felt like characters which was one of my criticisms of Journeys
But kudos to the writers to the way they handle the catch. Loved that moment. It’s not the generic “oh,wild pokémon get attached to its aspiring trainer,I’ll just stand there and wait for my idol to catch me” kinda thing like a lot of moments in the past. I can see their CREATIVITY in the PROCESS of catching a wild pokémon. It seems that they realize that the anime is running for more than 20 years and needs to UPGRADE the flow of moments to MAINTAIN the interest of the watchers. Continue being creative,writers. Good job. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Can’t give my rating yet but don’t stop twisting the plots around “positively”.
I absolutely love how Roy remains unique while also paying homage to Ash. I love the reference of Roy’s first capture being similar to Ash. And Wattrel really reminded me of Taillow!
Roy’s catch was great and the battle was cool. Cool villain too
Now i'm really curious to see, how Liko will get her pendant back. Maybe if Amethio gets knowledge about this, he would probably confront Spinel and getting the pendant back himself. But since, he is after the pendant as well, maybe he will bring it back to Gibeon and try to confirm him, hat he shouldn't have taken the mission from him. Just a speculation, but maybe if Gibeon betrays Amethio, by saying, that he wasnt capable of taking the pendant all along and he just used him, maybe he will switch sides and joins the Rising Volttecklers, to help them and Liko to get the pendant back and getting revenge on Spinel and Gibeon. Just a theory, but i really hope, that this will happen in some kind of way. Anyone with me?

I’m ok with Roy being “Ash 2.0” and everything but they should eventually differ their “process of personality” if you guys and especially the writers get what I mean. They should be way more creative to twist it around “positively” or else people will eventually get tired of Roy and lose interest in him…and just ask to bring Ash back instead. You know the Ash fanatics.
I have a theory: Liko may be only stuck on Sprigatito, and possibly get 1 or 2 other new pokemon, while Roy will be the battleter of the group, possibly get a full 6 pokemon party, including Fuecoco evolving.
I have to give credit to Spinel: patient, sneaky, and a bit smart due to the fact that he never revealed himself to the group, so they don't know who he is. But i have a question. if he vas everything planned, even his escape from the city, how is that the group will stop him and retrieve the pendand? Seems that Liko will spend lost on the city for the whole day, enough time to Spinel to leave the place and return to the Explorer's HQ, unless he has something else in mind that keep him there. But i think Dot will be key in helping Liko in recovering the pendant. I think she will recover her memory by her own
from what I heard regarding that, it looks like the Ancient Adventure Hero Arboliva will have a hand to play in it
That would be absolutely terrible given how the series has treated its females the past few series. And given that they’re supposed to be duel protagonists with this being a fresh start, that would be a terrible way to start things off having the girl take a back seat while the boy gets to do everything. I honestly hope that the treatment of Liko improves because I really don’t want another series like Journeys where it’s supposed to be between 2 protagonists but they keep having one hog the spotlight

@@rodanyo Honestly, I don’t even see them keeping it as a Sprigatito. Usually when they didn’t evolve a starter it was because that form was the more marketable one. But this generation while Sprigatito is popular, Meowscarda is the most popular of the 9 starter forms, having come in 3rd place overall of the Scarlet and Violet Pokémon. So they definitely gave it to her with the thought of it evolving at some point. Plus, after this episode she’s definitely gonna need a Dark type since it’ll be able to resist any future tricks from Spinel

Roy is the equivalent to Ash in almost every single way, while Liko is the antithesis of him(obliviousness aside).

Arven storyline will be different than the game because it just got confirmed that Herba Mystica is will known in the Paldea which Murdock was holding on to some of the Herba Mystica which were in those bottles Murdock was carrying but Murdock couldn't find the Spicy Herba Mystica which is harder to find probably because it could be out of season means that it only grows during a certain time of the year like Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter!
Does Team Star still exist in the Pokémon Horizons Series because they could already have been disbanded beforehand and that means that Team Explorers replaced them!?
well arven is a student after all so I'm assuming he can't just go about and buying the Spices of Mystica; so there's a chance for him in his storyline. And if it's any consolation if they need to find a way to connect to Penny appearing, I was thinking she might gain an affinity with Dot with both of them being good with technology & shy/awkward around people irl

Fans really want to see Penny's Storyline in the Pokémon Horizons Series which means that meeting the Legendary Pokemon storyline would also be different in the Series!
We can get two story lines, one for battles with Roy, and the other for development with liko
It's so hard for me to enjoy this series while im constantly feeling depressed about the fact that the old series is gone forever
I can comprehend there being no (old)shipping, Ash, Serena, Brock, Dawn ect. but I will never be able to get over the fact that those things won't come back. I always could hope that Serena and Amour would come back but now it's just not a possibility and that's the case with most of the old anime stuff
I think this series is great but I can never truly enjoy it since it will never be anywhere near as good as the Ash anime and I will always think of it when watching Horizons
It's still early tho and less repetitive than the old series.
I have a theory about the Pokemon that Roy and Liko will catch. In addition to their respective starters, they will each get one gen 9 Pokemon like Roy's Wattrel and the rest of their catches will be from different generations where their combined teams will have a representative of each of the eight older generations. For example, Liko could get a gen 1 Pokemon but Roy would not and Roy would get a gen 3 Pokemon but Liko would not. Despite the theory, I have no idea what they will catch.
Just finished watching this episode and it was great. I think it’s cool to see a Flying type that’s actually afraid of heights so it really has trouble with flying. Seriously relatable as I myself am morbidly acrophobic. I’m afraid of quite a bit of things, but heights is definitely my biggest fear.

Well I might not watch Pokemon but it's definetly interesting to hear what's going on in Horizons (somethimes lol)
Going Tera can change a pokemon's type. As shown in Horizons, Charizard changed from being a Fire/Flying type, into a pure Dark-type pokemon
It's basically like Mega but instead of just partially changes type, it changes the type of a pokemon depending on what Tera type the pokemon inherited.
Also instead of a cool design they just have a glowing crystal on their head lol

But yeah, Liko does feel like she's stagnated quite a bit. Roy's already had a battle against a Gym Leader, where even if he lost, gained valuable experience from the battle itself. And now Roy's had his first capture. Liko needs to get going and get stronger or else she's going to get left behind.

I definitely think if we keep moving forward liko could follow the tradition and become a Pokemon performer like Serena and the others did I definitely don't think she'll do gym battles and stuff like Roy might do
I guess it will all depend on when we see Liko in future battles & how she feels in them. Liko has been shown to have a keen potential aptitude in battling after all; but right now she lacks the experience & depth in it. If she witnesses more, who's to say she'll find that fighting path. Besides it would be cool for us to have in the anime a battling female main character
Tbh I would rather not make her another performer / coordinator since that role suits more to the Poke Girl, but not really to the new face of AniPoke.
But I'm sure they have something interesting in store for Liko ^^
I would honestly hate for the series to fall into such sexist trends of letting the boy do all the action based activities while the girl does only girlish things. We’ve got 5 female champions and tons of elite female trainers so let Liko get in on the action as well. Roy’s bio says he wants to battle the Pokémon of legends so let him do that while letting Liko break the old trends and actually be an action girl
In this episode I feel like I can use Frastration move on Friede with max 102 base attack right now. While he knew the cause of power break down and even got ambush by an enemy that he even need his trump card to get out the trouble. When he come back to the ship and the uncle ask what bother him, he just set it aside as if nothing happen. COME ON DUDE, your just got attacked, what you should do is "warn your crew" for potential danger, especially for Liko who was target before, or at least tell the adults to look after the children if you just don't want to ruin the children's fun.
So that left me to say one last thing…
