We need more baseball segments
More baseball. Mostly Yankees
The Angels are so far out of the AL WEST, that they are on top of the NL East
@A Good Pitch, idk your gmaw, but your probably right lol
This is absolutely shocking. Kudos boys. Love this show but something outside of Lakers, LeBron, Brady, Cowboys or Baker is always more than welcome.
Lmao none of the comments are about the actual topic just praising a baseball and new topic
Learn how national metrics work so you can stop regurgitating this pointless comment.
@@derpderpin1568 You really upset this isn’t the millionth LeBron/Cowboys segment ain’t you 😂😂🤦🏽♂️
@@derpderpin1568 You, like them, need a lesson in that. Cowboys, LeBron and Brady drive ratings but not the extent they talk about them. Baker is irrelevant and outside of LeBron, no one cares about the Lakers rn, despite the brand power. Look at the variety from First Take, Cowherd, First Things First etc. This show has two incredible personalities and talented guys with a terrible & redundant set of debates nearly every week.
@@ye6973 thanks for your contribution Bill Gates
Thank you for trying out a baseball segment. Much appreciated
What does this have to do with LeBrons legacy tho? 🤔🤔🤔
@@richardramos8218 lol
@@richardramos8218 Jen Hale: “so Shannon, on a scale from 1 to 10, how does this historic season from Aaron Judge match up with Lebron’s greatest season?
Shannon: “Skeeup imma gih it about a six”
Tom Brady can probably hit 75 if he were playing for the Yankees
If MJ played longer he would of shattered the record no questions ask You know it and I know it!"
An actual Baseball segment I can’t believe it. Thank you Aaron Judge!
Lol 💯
This was an amazing segment by Shannon. I know baseball isn’t talked about a lot here but I can tell Shannon really prepares and when asked to cover something he gives his all.
Unc Shay is a legit baseball fan. He refers to it on occasion when talking other sports
He definitely did his research. I'm surprised he didn't bring up OPS
@@SamoaVsEverybody814 oh I know - but it takes more than being a fan to come in and give a masterclass like this.
He was jus wrong about the Yankees not leading the AL East 😂 needs a lil more researching
@@SamoaVsEverybody814 no he’s not but he tries his best. You can tell skip is kinda laughing because Shannon’s baseball knowledge or lack thereof shows the longer he rants. It was the same thing on first take. Stephen a knows nothing about baseball so it’s hard to hold a conversation
Finally a baseball segment. Even a short 10 min daily one would be fine
No
I am a huge MLB fan myself. However Shannon and Skip “specialty” is the NFL and NBA. During the MLB season at least have a segment 1-2x a week on baseball would be great.
@@americangiant1003 oddly enough the make more sense in the baseball segments than the basketball and football segments
There’s a ton of great story lines this year too and just stuff to talk about. They definitely need more baseball talk
@@zegobot9674 lol. Cause they're not going in with any branded narratives...but ya, it's welcomed
A MUCH NEEDED BASEBALL SEGMENT. Judge is chasing history without any juices
He’s definitely juicing, every pro athlete is juicing
@@Doejohnm especially baseball
Lmao without juice…I would bet my life on it, if a poll was taken with athletes having to actually answer truthfully, 90% or more of professional athletes juice
@@Doejohnm don’t they test them though?
Who cares the steroid era was the last great era
Finally a baseball segment, this was dope. Barry was a different breed, him n Griffey was what made me watch n play ⚾️ growing up.
Same with Griffey bro
From 86’-96’ Bonds was the best all around player, with his base running. From 89’ onwards,Griffey Jr. was being hyped all the time, but they both still were under the radar, because of the PED home run era.
Not being on championship teams, or even contenders some years, really hurt how they were judged, as well.
So why did Barry Bonds juice his brains off then?
@@CorbCorbin I don't think it affected Griffey as much as you. He's widely regarded as a top 5 tool goat, and a true legend & icon to an entire generation
Griffey is in my Mt Rushmore, along with guys like Mays too
Pujols
What's not getting talked about enough is the degree of difficulty in all of his at bats. With most starters and relievers throwing breaking balls hitting mid 80's to even the 90's and throwing insane moving sinkers and high 90's fastballs, he's hitting for power AND average while getting strikes called on him at his damn shins. What he's doing this year is going to be talked about for decades to come. Unbelievably impressive.
Shannon spoke on it at the 1:00 mark
I genuinely love when current sporting greatness is recognised. Sports fans are constantly blinded by nostalgia and everything "was better back in ______" which coincidentally happens to be while they were young and full of life. Sports, music, movies... everyone wants to convince themselves that their generation was the pinnacle of greatness and everything that followed is sub-par.
And one of the worst strikezones called againist him ever recorded
Until he gets exposed for using steroids, then well have to throw out ANOTHER record again 🤣🤣🤣
@@v.k.healthlongevity9807 You spitting nothing but facts
The depth of knowledge these guys have and can articulate across different sports is incredible. Mad props.
Bro said Barry bonds is the greatest hitter ever. Ichiro is so clear
@@orangeman5728 Ichiro, Jeter and Manny of the modern age
The knowledge these guys have comes from (pimple faced) interns who do all the research for them.
Then they cherry pic some talking points.

@@cappy2282 bonds is disqualified because of steroids period
Finally, we talk about something different. This is a breath of fresh air.
FINALLY A BASEBALL TOPIC
I know right 💯😅
It literally takes someone on the brink of breaking a record for them to even considering talking baseball
Good
The show is catered to the blacks.
@@jamiealexander7065 woah!!
@@DrPhill96 You right we definitely need LeBron/Dallas conversations EVERYDAY 🙄
😆🤣😂....right about that!
Ken Griffey Jr had the sweetest swing of alltime, don't do dat Skiulp
G Brett and Ted Williams also
I used to try and mimic his stance 😆 his stance is so clean!!
I know, he's wrong for that, Griffey Jr. swing was the sweetest. He would have been the HR King if not for the injuries.
Ive never thought of shannon as the biggest baseball fan but he came very prepared to this segment and surprised me with all his knowledge. Gained my respect as a baseball fan
Should do more baseball segments to mix it up. The game is actually kinda cool these days

WHAT!!!! They aren't talking about football or basketball? The world must be coming to an end.
Judge is having one of the best seasons of all time. If he wins the triple crown, MVP and the World Series, this might be the best year anyone else has ever had
Don’t think tanks are winning the World Series though. Judge is carrying them to the playoffs one player isn’t enough to win the World Series.
An impressive season to be sure, but it's competing with some other pretty monumental seasons to be THE best. Looking like one of the best seasons of all time for sure, regardless of triple crown or world series, which he can't control.
Astros > Yanks. And if they make it to the WS, the Mets and Dodgers can beat them, so don’t get your hopes up. The Yankees are now struggling to maintain their first place which they had 15gms over everyone in their division for a long time this season.
You’re not winning the championship (not a World Series because you don’t play other countries - lol). Dodgers at ent far wayyyyy better
@@arsenioseslpodcast3143 so it’s not called the World Series? Huh weird
They need to talk baseball more. Wish they did.
61 HRs in the AL belongs to Roger Maris.
Roger Maris doesn't get enough credit and I hate it. That Yankee jersey is a signal of greatness.
This must be a new generation thing because Maris got all the credit. It was called chasing the Roger Maris record when Sosa and McGwire we're chasing it. That's what it was known for in the 90's and '00s. Maybe I'm not understanding you though.
@@nickbrooks2408 Yeah it is. I've been a baseball fan for a decade and a half now and I don't know who he is.
61 is the record period…
It’s kind of overrated and underrated at the same time. It’s overrated because Maris didn’t really put up the most efficient stats to get to 61 but underrated because no could reach that number unless it was steroid fueled.
@@dbreiden83080 Bonds has the record period. Juiced or not. He has the RECORD! 👍🏾😎👍🏾
Wow I never heard Shannon Sharpe speak about baseball actually did a really good job should do it more often
Aaron Judge and Jacob Degrom both had late career starts but they are putting up legendary numbers 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
This is a record that has stood for 61 years. It’s honestly incredible because sports records that stand for that long usually are unbreakable
@mr fantastic Well I’m just talking the AL record. Sosa and Mark are frauds and were completely steroid made while bonds was already an all time great before he started using. I mean I do think bonds is prolly the best hitter ever considering it got to a point where they wouldn’t pitch to him and he’d see maybe 2 hittable pitches a night. No amount of steroids gives you the hand eye coordination and plate discipline he had
Thoroughly surprised and impressed at the fact they barely if ever talk about baseball but had a great knowledgeable talk with facts on this topic
It's real when this show talking Baseball ⚾️
Undisputed talking baseball????!!!!!
I know it’s small, but it’s nice.
Love that S & S are talking baseball for a change ... and they're GREAT at it!
I wish Puljos would come back and try to break Bonds' record
Puljos and Ichiro are the goats of the 21st Century imo
Every time they “talk baseball” it always goes to skip saying how he covered Barry bonds 😂
And remember he covered Jordan in 98.
I love when they discuss baseball. Neither guy has a dog in the fight. They just give their opinions without agendas. 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽
do this more often yall this much needed even if it’s once a week or 2
Shannon always surprises me when it comes to sports other than NFL and NBA

@The Esquire of Sports ® Shannon doesn’t watch or care about baseball but he tries his best. Same thing with Stephen a (he knows a little more than Shannon) because it’s hard to hold a interesting conversation with people who know about it
Shannon has literally cited his own personal experiences with baseball. He is absolutely a fan of the game. He's talked off his head many times on this show over the years about players he watched in his younger years.
Love the baseball talk. Keep it up
