I think it's come a long way since launch, but that still doesn't make it a great game.
I think they took the easy approach with a lot of content, focusing on smaller maps and having them feel like skirmishes rather than all out battles
People who left two years ago would come back to the game and experience the same glitches and poor design decisions that made them leave in the first place. They've added new content but have done virtually nothing on the technical and game design side

IMAFKAY It was dead after 3 months... It’s been dead ever since except that period around the release of Geonosis when people came back thinking content might actually start getting regularly dropped.. Which it never did.. We got 1 more map worth a damn and the game has remained hollow and shallow since.
Luke Not Skywalker The game was so much better post geonosis I don’t know what you’re on about. The content came out pretty steady, and there was always something to look forward to at the end of the month. I’m bummed that they’re ending it here but am optimistic towards DICE’s next game, which is hopefully Battlefront 3.
Beta players rise up! Honesty as someone who stuck around during launch and the dark times pre-prequel updates, it’s been a long journey. This community was always on the verge of breaking down when it came to communication and support but thing turned around. While it’s sad to see some requested features like skins or heroes make it in the game, it’s still outstanding we have a game today and it wasn’t abandoned at launch. Goodbye old friend. May the force be with you.

The fact that after almost 4 years after cancellation people are still playing the game and coming back to the trailer to ask for Battlefront 3 is really amazing and should be enough of a reason to make a new Battlefront.
As someone that stuck by this game since the beta, through the launch controversy, through the content drought and into the rebirth all the way to the end; I can firmly say that this game has had the greatest video game story of all time. Dice didn't give up. they loved Star Wars and their community and gave back to them what they paid for, and so much more.

Agreed. Nothing but positivity towards these devs. They accomplished the impossible when everyone was against them. It was a hell of a run boys. People will criticize this game forever, but the true fans will always remember how far this game has come.

@adam popularity and reputation are not the same thing. If you step outside the bf community most other gamers still think of this as a loot box game even tho you couldnt buy them since the beta. So not many new people would come because theyd be wary of the title, and they DEF cant monetize it much or they'll be under heavy fire. So they wont see much money to be made as if they did something different

I see why the CT was delayed, they didn’t want the game to end, probably higher ups in EA made the decision. I bet the virus also played a part in ending content support for both bf V and bf 2 early. I bet they planned on ending support this year, but I don’t think ending support this early was part of THE PLAN. Nevertheless I’ll never forget all the memories and hardships. I was there for the beta, the rocky launch, the drought of content (times where the only time I could play hero showdown was 1v1ing my friend), I was there for solo. And I was there for the greatest redemption arc in the history of gaming. May the force be without, and to anyone who breathed life into the game I thank you. I’ll still be playing atleast until bf3 comes out if that ever happens. Our stories will live on...see you on the battlefront soldiers.

The original battlefront 3 was primed to take the franchise to the next level (ground to space combat, an awesome story, etc.) and instead we got two games that ended up being the retarded half-cousins to the original two games. Why in god’s name would you not demand their most genuine, 100% effort, to deliver the best video game ever made? Instead you just pat them on the head and say “you did your best” while they run off giggling because they scammed you into paying $60 for a game that has $20 worth of content. Life isn’t all participation trophies. There are winners and losers, and winners are remembered. This is why 2005 battlefront is still played today, while 2015 barely has any active servers and this game will similarly be forgotten a year or two from now; in 2005, pandemic made this game with heart and because they wanted to make a quality game. They didn’t do it to cash in on a title that gets people to blindly spend money.

They did once but they removed the loot crates / micro-transactions. People sadly still give it hate for it's rough beginning and it pisses me off to be honest. I think they are gonna completely develop a new game to get a better beginning and to fix some of the problems they had with the second game.

What would battlefront 3 be about? EA apparantly is focusing on smaller scale games now. The amount of content needed to keep the community satisfied for battlefront 3 would make the game cost 100 dollars or more at least.

It’s been 2 years and this video still hurts my soul… even replayed the game and it feels more satisfying to actually play compared to COD or Apex
It feels like I watched this game grow up, and now it is old.
It is weird. Watching it was a rollercoaster, hype at launch, and then disappointment at the lootboxes, and then happiness when they fixed it, and just added more and more content. Well done DICE, you have my respect as an EA studio, for not sticking with the lootboxes.

Time for a come back. You all at EA and Disney cannot be blind to everything still surrounding this game. Its a beautiful game that people like me love. And playing it knowing its the last of the battlefront game series is heartbreaking. The love and support the battlefront franchise has received since its cancelation should be more than enough proof that games like this succeed. Yes it had a rocky start, but that fact that i find servers no problem on any of the game modes is amazing. Obviously it depends on which servers your using but thats besides the point. Then theres the content creators that constantly are making videos playing this game. And the content creator's that make the videos saying how surprised they are at how fun the game is considering how long its been since the final update happened. And considering the absolute fail that was battlefield 2042 you should've listened to some of the developers that worked on battlefront 2 that both warned you about the problems of cancelation bf2 for another game. As well as the ones who petitioned for a battlefront 3. Not to mention that you literally have the entire star wars universe at your fingertips (both represented and unrepresented in film and games) that you can expand on. Plus the amount of money it would bring in for you especially if on release its preforms well. Now its a big meme in the gaming community that the "sad bf2 players" will never see bf3 or something similar to see the light of day. Star wars was a big part of my childhood and still impacts my life everyday. Same with countless other people. So i plead with you to give some hope that you wont waste this massive opportunity to make gaming history. Bring back battlefront
