What if someone graduates with a masters in data science in 2025. Lol. What would the market for Data Science jobs look like at that time? Asking for a friend
@benconteh4670 Software Engineering is still software engineering, but the tool stack is different. MEAN stack and the rest, so they will be stack for Data Science alot
I'm not so worried about AI. It's mostly disorganized garbage and plagerism. It helps, but is messy and needs a human to hold its hand. More concerned about DS jobs being outsourced overseas. Hard to compete with people who'll do it for $15 an hour. In that world, you're better off getting a cert to operate heavy machinery.
I hate it when people make clickbait title specially tech people, using negative titles to pull in viewers, you know what else is dying greg?, yeah that's right.
@@GregHoggMaybe it was the ACT or the SAT, but there used to be a section that gave you something to read and asked, "What would be the best title for this work?"
I hate them. Sometimes I get sucked in, feel rather manipulated and ugh. So if someone uses a lot of click bait titles, I typically mark it don't show me things from this channel.
Welp, I believe there’s a lot left to be done in DS, I’ve seen this happening many times in the past 20 years, mostly from people who are not heavily involved with the underlying structure, things will change constantly and we’ve been adapting throughout the years already with every tool and technique coming out for as long as we’ve been doing it and we’ll just keep doing that. Few years ago we didn’t have AWS for me to be an AWS data engineer or ViTs to use them for my thesis. Also Data people, try Polars I absolutely enjoy it.
This video is low effort. Just a guy with a green screen background--trying to sell his class. Doesn't even make reference to any research studies. 0 out of 10.
I feel that Data Scientists who are working on revolutionary tech are in a very "sexy" position. Apart from them, Jim, the college graduate who enrolled in a data scientist course hoping to change the world wont be able to have the same impact due to the emergence of tools like code interpreter and therefore data science for someone like Jim is probably not as "sexy" and its natural. Its important to realise that tools like GPT have made it extremely easy to write code for you pipelines, cleaning and model generation. What you need to bring is an intuition for every problem you solve, a determined focus to understand your domain and to take more accountability as a new age data scientist. Sure maybe you won't be able to create AGI but you could utilise the on-going research in your own projects and reclaim your status as a "sexy" data scientist. P. S. : Researchers are publishing tech knowledge. They're not the ones to utilise those in a business scenario. That's where you get to be your "sexy" self.
I have no idea why anyone would rely on using ChatGPT to begin with. It gets many many things that are basic and simple incorrect, so why would I rely on it to write Code for me?
The point is not actually about being the sexiest or not. Instead, it is an essential domain that everyone needs in the context of business, digital marketing, AI, etc.
i think the field is just beginning to flourish now. all the hard work is finally paying off. However i can think of a million ways that data science can streamline and solve real world issues in some niche fields. more emphasis should be put in data science. it would literally save/make businesses more money. its insane.
This was pretty informative. I'm a GIS Researcher/Analyst, and data science is a pretty big part of what I do. Even if it's not general 'Data Science' the fundamentals are still the same, and it's true for a lot of different disciplines as well.
He is too emotionally involved in bashing data science, he is an engineer and he’s comfortable with it, data interpretation is a skill and art, engineering and art are not very compatible
Get the degree that gets you to AI. There would still be lots of problems to solve or opportunities to implement various AI machine learning models that would likely be very lucrative. May have a higher premium than many fields in CS. The next huge start up creating extreme wealth (Google / Meta size) likely in this AI machine learning space.

data scientist will be a position at large companies then, but on smaller scales you may be doing more of a data analysis role with data analysis pay (my opinion).
@@GregHogg Thank you very much for your answer, so it will motivate me to keep on learning, i want to learn computer vision, i struggle a lot but i will do my best to resist untill i will learn it, have a good day Chef
Lol big time bull crap i wont even watch the video because I know at the end there will be a but. The need of data science is raising even more with the amount of data accumulating. You will see in the future even the smallest businesses are going to need data analysis to thrive further. So rest assure if you are trying to improve yourself on data science It's not dying any time soon. You can see it yourself just go into job finding web sites and list the data analyist, data scientist jobs there are a LOT of jobs that you can apply even with a relatively lesser knowledge then devs and engineers.
