    Dear Tim,
    Thank you so much for all of the time and effort that you put into this video. Watching it was extremely helpful and I am truly grateful.
    I am very enthusiastic about learning to become a Data Analyst and have already started learning. Before I dive even deeper and spend more time learning , I have a very important question that I am hoping that you have time to answer. I'm an American citizen living in Europe and I have a family of 4. We live in a very remote village and the nearest city is 3 hours away. Working remotely, from the start of my potential career, is super vital for me. Not because I just want to hang out at home, but because working away from home would be very difficult. My question "Is it possible for a future entry level Data Analyst to get a job remotely?"
    If you don't think that it is, then what field within IT would you say is my best option? Any advice would be super appreciated.
    Thanking you very much in advance!!!!!
    Regards,
    Fil

    i think this is the first video that really helped me become clear on what i want to do with Data Analysis
    i have one question tho, how’d your interview go? How’d you build your portfolio that helped you bag your first job, the experiences you presented when the employers asked “which companies have you worked for in the past”?
    (or maybe 2 questions, lol)

    • @TimothyJoo
      @TimothyJoo  6 месяцев назад

      awww yayay im so glad! :)
      the interview sadly didnt go that great :/ pushing through tho!
      for my portfolio, it was just another reference that the recruiters and hiring managers can reference right away without needing to do a full on interview. if you can highlight and show your skills before you get the interview, it sets up a good foundation for when the interview does happen!
      if you want to learn more about how i made it and some tools you can use, i just made a video about that!

    can i ask, besides all the tools needed (which i'm self-learning), how can i develop a better business sense?
    i mean its kinda abstract and i really dont know how to dive into it (w_w)
    and can u give me some tips or things that i should learn/prepare when i'm a business-based student in order to have a certain edge over other tech-based candidates?

      awww I’m glad I could help!
      In terms of being more business minded just always think about the needs of the company. What exactly they NEED and build around that. Too many talented people in tech focus on building what they want and it often causes unnecessary set backs.
      For other tips, it depends on what kind of business you’re going into! Not sure what your focus is on so can’t really give a detailed answer on that

    Question how did you go about finding what company that you wanted to work with at First so I thought you did Intel and Costco and they’re two different industries one is tech one is retail when you first started out did you have a certain industry you want to work with or certain company based on Certain culture or quality or? I’m having a hard time because I do wanna work in tech and on tech, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what opportunity should I go to? Should I just try to get an opportunity in tech or should I really be strategic and focus on tech industry, companies or healthcare industry companies are retail industry companies and apply to technical jobs in that industry.
    Thank you

    • @TimothyJoo
      @TimothyJoo  6 месяцев назад +1

      in full transparency, a lot of skills are transferable between the industries! esp since most companies are now transitioning over to the cloud via Azure / AWS! I would say find the industry you are most passionate about and then focus on that. Right now, what distinguishes people is their passion alongside the skills they possess. skills can be taught, passion cannot. so if you showcase and highlight that with your skills, it should be a match made in heaven!

      this is another general term for a data analyst! i would say a specialist is more broad where a data analyst is more descriptive.
      a data specialist could also be:
      - Data Engineer
      - Data Visualizations
      - Data Analytics
      i would definitely check and see what the job description says and match it up to your own skills!

      depends on the role! most companies want in office working post pandemic
      I personally believe all data roles should be fully remote. With nearly all systems in the cloud, there's no reason to be in person besides better collaboration. Most Data work is done on our own too!
      I'm still searching for my new role at the moment, but definitely prioritizing remote or hybrid work.

      Using SQL is the industry standard and it’s a simpler way to do it, esp working with databases and such! Plus it’s what most analysts require more so than Python
