Just the video I was looking for! I recently graduated in Data Science and looking to freelance while looking for work as a data analyst. I've been on the hunt for what a deliverable would actually look like for a client and this is the first video I have come across that helps! Thank you for making this video Dee!
This is one of the best day in the life videos I've seen for this job. Thank you for being detailed enough that we can see actually work duties of a DA.
Thank you for the clearer details. I appreciate that you have went through explaining the systems you used and why I.e. Python would be used for automated, and you used tableau, as it allowed you to drag and drop data. Thank you 🙏
This actually looks like an awesome job IMO....I Love to look at trends in data, even in my current job, we use tableau for Tracking our performance numbers over time. Imma definitely look into this Field
Thanks for the very instructive video! REQUEST: Could you please make some videos with step by step real life projects, so we as aspiring DAs can practice and build a portfolio ? Thanks
Thank you for showing and talking about the actual work you do. This is very helpful as I’m thinking of transitioning to a similar role. Subscribing to you now.
its wild how you were so quick to ask that the data is complete. most of my data has many, many "null"s and a big part of our work is figuring out how to manage that!
This video made me excited I am currently learning data analytics tools and I wanted to see what this would look like in practice this was so exciting to get to see what your workflow looks like. It also gives me the ideas on what are realistic questions that buisnesses ask !
What you just did in several hours (maybe?) took me 3 months of an internship using excel only!! Visualizing data for negotiable costs from distributor asset codes and sources we used for comparing market prices! Gosh this is so cool to see. I will not give up just because I take more time! Thank you for making such an honest video.
Great video, nicely put, clean, easy to understand and the best part of it all you don't hide anything or gatekeep or make it hard. I just started doing my AI engineering course majoring in Data science, and After watching this video I'm 100% sure I'm going to go with being a Data analyst😍🙏🙏
I don’t know whether to study Data Analyst or Database Administrator. It’s important to me to learn one of these as quickly as possible? "After studying, which of these two has a better chance of helping me land my first job? In other words, which one can be learned faster, and with which one can I get a job more quickly?
i love this soo much clear session objective clear example of what the sorted data could look like and an email example ....so much better than i woke up at 9am showered walked my dogs at 10 had breakfast started work at 1 (no objective or nothing ) i clocked out at 5 etc .
This is a really good video. I've just completed my first Course on Data Analytic through Google. Hoping to be where you are in the future! Thanks for the insight into your day-to-day.
hey guys I hope somebody read this who can maybe give an advise. I am currently studying business informatics and I have about 1,5 years left until I am finished. I started to work now to gain some experience, the job I am doing is Software Developing. I am personally more like an Introvert person and thats why I want to know if Data Analysts are more likely to work „alone“ (I know that you still have meetings and stuff like this) but it seems like in Software Developing you more likely to work in a team where you have to coordinate with your colleagues and stuff like this, while it seems that Data Analysts tasks can be done alone. The good thing is that I have a BI Focus in College where I learn a good base of data analytics. Can somebody who maybe work in both path (Software Developer and Data Analytics) can say something, which career fits more to introverts or lets say to people who like to work more on their own😅
I mean, you can get away with being an introverted data analyst. But the best DAs I know are ones you communicate really well and are able to present findings to stakeholders at any level. If this is going to be difficult then I would suggest going to a dev path!
This was awesome, I'm late to the video but, I wanted to ask if there are any math book recommendations for data analysis that would be helpful, thank you.
Hi Dee, thank you for your video; just curious (second cup of morning coffee high), does the amount to be paid by the insurance company affect the time it takes to pay, and if so, how would you report this to a client?
Really for entry level role you need power bi / tableau SQL and Excel skills pretty much that to get started. Although u know many SQL dialects I don’t use it much or Python loll
Don't they have an balance sheet or income statement that you can analyze ? I don't think of what you showed actually makes sense on how a costumer should trust you. Anyway good luck
Hey, respect that your getitng paid as a Data Analyst using basic programs like Excel and Tableau. But if anyones watching this video thinking Data Analyst jobs are this simple, do not apply to this field. She's working with niece clients, with small data sets and rather simple questions. Regularly companies have million line data-sets and you will need to learn Js, React, SQL, PostGre-SQL, and VisualBasic to even begin decontructing, and reconstructing those datasets.
I have just completed a marketing course at Uni and now I have decided to switch to data analytics since I found that I enjoyed the aspects of the course that were based on data rather than marketing Are there any online courses in data analytics that I should take to enhance my understanding before searching for an apprenticeship/intern?
Hey Dee - While I appreciate you walking through what you do while analyzing data, it sure looks like you might have actual patient data in some of your screenshots. If it _is_ HIPAA-protected data, you may want to re-edit your video to obfuscate key parts of the data. I'm happy to chat off-line if you'd like. Thanks!
Hey, it’s definitely not. I’ve anonymised all the columns including the patient data, the only thing I’ve kept was the amounts multiplied by a random factor.
Nice representation of what Data Analyst work should look like. Question, in most of your work, are you doing some data cleaning before loading the data into Tableau? If yes, are you still using Excel or Python for that? Thanks!
Hey guys please help me i have an optional module practical programming where python is there and other is excel for data science which should i choose as i want to grow my career in data analyst/ data engineer
To be honest if yo want to turno a data analyst "quick" Is better to choose Excel for data science obviusly you have tobdonyour own research and see what Is better to your case thats my personal opinion
Why dyu prefer tableau to power bi , both excel and power bi are Microsoft products hence it enables easy navigation between both apps But why tableau And like you said tableau is paid and power bi is free
In my own opinion, Tableau is best for EDA.... Exploratory Data Analysis, if you re not using Python. But compared to Power Bi. Power Bi will dive even deeper and totally open up your dataset to fantastic insights but for EDA, Tableau is my Go to
Great video , I have 2 questions though 😢😢😢📌FYI it's the answers to these two questions that will make me decide wether to do a master's in data analysis or not ,(1) is it just me or I fail to work alone accurately in data analysis unless I bounce ideas with two or three other brains ? (2) Sometimes I feel the need to build my own data analysis tools in PHP and SQL because existing tools always have that one or two or more things they can't do but I really need those functions , do I just bother myself doing this ?
To answer your questions..... its very okay to bounce ideas with people like team members or mentor if you have one. Its totally perfect. question 2: Naturally as a data analyst, everything you do, you MUST consider whomever you will be presenting or sharing your result with first. Are they technical enough to understand whatever you show them in PHP or in a script or they just need a simple dashboard with few charts clearly showing the answers to their questions with total clarity. Whatever approach you want to use to analyse is up to you but make sure youre able to present your results and recommendations as simple and as clear as e.g ABC insurance pays the highest and process claims faster in 2 weeks compared to XYZ insurance that pays after 4 months and maximum of $1000. Remember. Clear and simple to understand for your clients
@@TalesAndAfricaHistory thanks a lot . But what I ment by building my own tools is that I get so frustrated when using Excel or tableaux or other already made tools to analyse data because they force u to do it how their tool is built . So I end up being forced to build my own tools to do exactly what I need to be done with the task I have . Presentation is my least worry it's the process of analysis
finally someone who shows what they actually do, instead of what they eat
omg, so it's not just me eyerolling at the coffee machine close ups and candle lighting intros 😂
Right 😂
I was going to comment exactly da same, finally someone truly committed to show data in real world 😊
Lmao. My thoughts exactly.
Djeeezz! I thought it was just me! 😂
Finally someone showing you what they actually do instead of these vlogs where they have a shower, coffee, sit at desk and go to bed!
😂😂😂
Omg ikr so annoying.
This is how you show day in a life, not any random talk about nonsense like most. Thanks so much, very good insights!
This was the BEST “A day in life” I’ve ever seen. I’m a freshman in Data Science. Very motivating and inspiring. Thank you!
its nice to see how different Analyst manage their work & how they visualize data for the customer... thank you for being so thorough
Just the video I was looking for! I recently graduated in Data Science and looking to freelance while looking for work as a data analyst. I've been on the hunt for what a deliverable would actually look like for a client and this is the first video I have come across that helps! Thank you for making this video Dee!
round of applause the best example i've seen yet by a HUGE margin👏
agee 100%
I'm glad that she actually covered the actual work not a lifestyle like the others🎉🎉
This is great! I was a data analyst intern and I’m happy that I clicked on this video, very realistic work flow 😌💯
Thank you 🙏
Amazing! Thank you for showing actual work and tasks in detail

finally someone who doesn't blur their screen and actually shows us what they do 😄
Thanks for the very instructive video!

its wild how you were so quick to ask that the data is complete. most of my data has many, many "null"s and a big part of our work is figuring out how to manage that!
Or spending hours trying to get data types that are usable, especially when appending tables from different sources with all different data types 😭😭
Very clear and concise! 💯💯 Thanks for this video outlining what's tasked usually
This video made me excited I am currently learning data analytics tools and I wanted to see what this would look like in practice this was so exciting to get to see what your workflow looks like. It also gives me the ideas on what are realistic questions that buisnesses ask !
Thank you for actually showing up what the job entails and not 10 minutes making coffee and talking about what podcast you listen to while your work.
What you just did in several hours (maybe?) took me 3 months of an internship using excel only!! Visualizing data for negotiable costs from distributor asset codes and sources we used for comparing market prices! Gosh this is so cool to see. I will not give up just because I take more time! Let’s get her to 100k subbies guys. She has broken a record on RUclips. Thank you so much Dee. ❤
This is a fantastic video highlighting some of the things you do day to day. Thank you for showcasing your experience
Thank you for the realistic video, finally something that gave me a feel for what data analysts do
I just learned Tableau and finished my first project with it. It felt good to actually understand what she was doing !
I'm planning to do data analytics which laptop would be great for day to day use as an analytics
Thank you for this video. ❤ It makes me realise that Data Analytics is not for me. I'm happy with Software Development. ☺️
Great video and info about the field, thanks
This is so helpful, thank you!!! I was searching for something like this for so long ... Noone else really shows what the WORK actually looks like 😅❤
I enjoyed this so much. Thank you for really showing us what a Data Analyst does in a day. 😊
What an amazing find! Thank you for keeping it real
This is great! Thank you for sharing your work day. I’m thinking about doing this, but with public policy.
Great video, nicely put, clean, easy to understand and the best part of it all you don't hide anything or gatekeep or make it hard. I just started doing my AI engineering course majoring in Data science, and After watching this video I'm 100% sure I'm going to go with being a Data analyst😍🙏🙏

Really appreciated this video considering I just graduated college and I'm applying for Data Analyst and Data Science roles.
amazing video!!! This is the best, most straightforward, example of what a data analyst does. I really enjoyed it :D !! great work btw :))
Nice view into a real day in the life!
Thanks for watching!
QUESTION: In the excel sheet, what specific data did you gather? I am thinking of approaching this method for a potential client.
Thanks for this🎉🎉..Its an inspiration and also a guide to know what a Data analyst is kn for❤
Wow , How I wish I become one someday ❤ I’m still learning tableau as of the moment… and enrolled in Google data analytics certification🙏
Great video, valuable content, professionally presented! Thanks!
I am currently learning this module at school and I genuinely find it interesting. Do you think this job remains relevant in years to come? 😃
i love this soo much clear session objective clear example of what the sorted data could look like and an email example ....so much better than i woke up at 9am showered walked my dogs at 10 had breakfast started work at 1 (no objective or nothing ) i clocked out at 5 etc .
thank you. i think im going to try and learn. this was a great example
Thank you for this. I have been thinking about learning Data Analytics
@Coding with Dee which mechanism do you use to send mails to stakeholders for report automation?
Im currently learning Tableau and you made it seem so easy!
This is dope, how’d you learn and get a job doing this? I know how to program self taught but I want to actually work with my skills
I got distracted by the Titanic and Concorde, so I didn't really catch what you do...
This is a really good video. I've just completed my first Course on Data Analytic through Google. Hoping to be where you are in the future! Thanks for the insight into your day-to-day.
Very insightful. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! I was wondering if you do freelance work or if you work with a company?
Finally someone who shows the actual work!! Great!
Thanks a million for this video
I´ve been meaning to become a Data Analyst for a while now, but I dont seem to get a single job. Feels horrible :(
Same brudda business degree doesn't seem to help either 😂😂
Thanks, this is so helpful!❤
I'm so glad it’s helpful!
Thank you very much, that was very realistic!
Hi Dee, thank you for your video; just curious (second cup of morning coffee high), does the amount to be paid by the insurance company affect the time it takes to pay, and if so, how would you report this to a client?
I'm busy with comptia data plus so looking into data analytics but in South Africa to get experience
What would job like the one for this client typically pay?
Love Tableau been using it for nearly 3 years now. Trying to teach myself PowerBI but I can’t stand it.
Best day in the life I have come across so far
Really for entry level role you need power bi / tableau SQL and Excel skills pretty much that to get started. Although u know many SQL dialects I don’t use it much or Python loll
can u pls describe whole steps of ur work?
Bruh where do you find these data analyst jobs at? I wish my data analyst job was this easy 😭😩😩
Where can i apply this jobs?i have knowledge
How do you determine your prices for your clients?
im sure she will know best but just in case, is it ok to show actual prod data like that on youtube??
Don't they have an balance sheet or income statement that you can analyze ?
I don't think of what you showed actually makes sense on how a costumer should trust you. Anyway good luck
could you please provide dataset i want to practice on real industry level dataset

Google Data Analytics Course by Coursera there. I started it yesterday it sure looks cool
How do you get deals from clients
This actually looks fun

Dies anybody know if a QUBOLE company is legit for work from home?
Do you take on work from new customers? Like dash board generation ?
Yeah I do! Depends on the actual requirements
Thank you for your valuable kt
Do you still have a spot in your data analysis mentorship program

Yeah! I started as a data analyst and now I also build data analytics tools
Do you think the google data analytics course is a good starter course? Or do you have any recommendations for learning data analytics?
I think the DA course from Google is pretty solid for beginners. But just do one course/boot amp and then try build your portfolio
Hi Dee, thanks for the informative video! Please recommend a boot camp thats carries weight in South Africa
Hi I have subscribed to your channel without watching your video because I like similar minded people more. Cheers girl 🎉
how much did you get paid for that?
Hope your neck is ok, it looks swollen.
Very interesting video
Ty . Very helpful
Are you a freelancer???
Data analyst don't eat?
