I simply can't choose between becoming a data analyst and then striving to become a data engineer, or becoming a sysadmin and then striving to become a cybersecurity analyst. These are IT fields I'm deeply interested in. Can someone give me their opinion on which path is more realistic to pursue?
Try all of them. You're interested on them on a high level point of view, when you actually try these paths your self and play around with the stuff you learn, you'll understand these fields at least in an intermediate level, and you'll eventually find pros and cons in each field and you'll be knowledgeable enough to choose which one suits you best. And trust me, people's opinions don't mean nothing, no one knows you better than your self.
Seriously, This guy came from no where suddenly and started showing off his tech journey. He also has a girl who constantly posts about data shit on linkedin.
I work in tech. The salaries he's giving are definitively the norm at Big Tech. If you're a senior level candidate (+5 YOE) you can expect around 500K/year. One of my friend's cousin works at Robinhood the trading app and he makes 400K/year.
Zack mentioned at 17:00 that "data engineers with expertise in master data and machine learning are safe". What does "master data" refer to, and what are these roles like? How do these jobs differ from typical data engineering roles that are going to be replaced? Are they still referred to as data engineers, or are they considered machine learning engineers instead?

He coded every day, even on the weekends for over a decade. He was building his own apps before he even got hired by a big tech company. He loves what he does. He saw opportunities open to him while working at FB. He took advantage of that opportunity, took a job that was tough for him and he wasn't quite ready for. it didn't work out but it prepared him for the next job, and he grew from there. There is no luck here, he had the desire, was consistent with growing his skill to a high level, and he was persistent. No successful person would look at his story and say "He got lucky". Success is not luck, success is a mindset.

Tools will come and go. You need to be able to adapt until you can’t offer anything of value anymore. At that point; you either venture out and make something with the skills you developed or pursue another career entirely. AI will one day replace the majority of jobs including software engineering but it won’t be anytime soon especially with just generative AI and the insane cost it takes to simply keep them running despite no real profit being shown yet for many companies.
