supposedly you can loosen the clamping nuts without removing the heat shield. I guess after doing it a time or two you would be good at guiding the socket into place without seeing them. The reason is trying to get the heat shield back on the manifold after you reinstall takes some real finesse on a couple of the forward bolts.
Hey! Not sure if you’ll see this, but I can’t figure out where that grounding wire attaches to right underneath the AFM. Do you have any ideas? It’s black like mine and seems to want to route beneath the AFM but can’t figure out where.
So I live in CA so I tried to save the EGR tube. Bought big wrenches, drenched it in penetrant, hit it with a heat gun and just when it finally breaks loose and im feeling good I notice it broke the tube in the process anyway xD feelsbad

I have an l28 heat shield that is only underneath. Top of the manifold is one solid piece. Fml
Wait, do you mean you have one of those intake manifolds that have "webs" between the intake runners?
