Oh and I have another car so if I’m going to be a while I just jump in that car! And when people got stickers and still drive it’s only because they really not going anywhere but up the street and you just want to hear some bass!
@FATHER'S OF BASS I'm going to give benefit of the doubt that you have stuff worth stealing; but, I'm guessing you didn't work in auto security. You're an exception. Granted, I think that partly has to do with the fact that big systems are no longer en vogue and because stuff is dirt cheap relative to what it used to cost. Could also be where you live, whether you have a garage, whether you broadcast your sound all over, etc. But, I had friends and customers get jacked at gunpoint when I was still working in the field. I had MB Quart, PPI, AudioControl, and JL Audio in a competition system where everything was stealth and you wouldn't find a sticker within miles of my car. Out of sight, out of mind. I told all my customers the same. I had an alarm that would sound the siren, flash the lights, and kill the car once stopped after one minute of me leaving the car without entering a code. I watched to see if people followed me home and would drive by if they did. I have heard too many horror stories.
@FATHER'S OF BASS You're lucky. I've had my shit stolen a few times. A lot of it has to do with where you live. I lived south of Atlanta when I had my big systems. It was inevitable you were going to get something stolen living there.

Big D. I've been waiting for you to do this amp. But where's the .5 test dammit!? I just got one of these brand new for $500 and am planning on running it at .5 but was curious at what I can expect. Come on bro
Not bad for old tech. I know the D’amore has its own clip detector, but maybe thinking about setting up some kind of O-scope setup near the dyno so us nerds can see the actual waveform during benchtests 🤓
Multiple smaller caps generally will offer lower overall ESR. They will also dissipate more heat. Larger caps will obviously offer larger capacity per unit but there is no disadvantage to using multiple smaller caps to make up higher values aside from larger PCB traces and extra layout time. Smaller caps do have higher resonance frequencies than larger high values, and play a large roll in filtering certain frequencies, but in the case of an automotive amp you are only dealing with DC and this does not play as much of a role in choosing a capacitor by size alone. Notice the value of the filter caps on the high side of the switching supply are much lower in value per cap due to the high switching frequency. Likely the power supply is bipolar so 9 caps per rail on the high side.
Depending on quality, small caps failure rate is troublesome down the road as you noted. But my thinking is from power stand point and not signal or filtering, parallel charge and discharge will be faster than serial charge going into a large capacity reservoir. McMillen's amp have always been fast and dynamic and this and his genius are what I attribute it too. But I'm just guessing.
Easy as hell to do a sponsor video when the product is that good. Plenty of power, good looking package, nice remote... thanks for the disclaimer, but I am sure this one would get a good review no matter what, it's an awesome amp.

The ENTIRE voltage regulation circuit that provides 18v above negative rail to the low side optocouplers. (1 15v zener diode, a diode array, two mmbt42 sot23s, 4 various smd resistors, and a 42N20.) 6. 1 smoked solder joint on a 5W resistor that provides partial high rail to the high side optocouplers 7. And 4 SMD mounted output smoothing capacitors. 8. And a bunch of dodgy attempts to work on this amp by a previous tech whose work I've come across before and it was ALL dodgey to say the least.... 9. And most importantly I had to use Perry Babbins amp repair guide as well as asking him directly for a few pointers on this amp. The guy is downright AMAZING!!

I slather my car in Boss and Pyramid audio. Built in theft deterrent. 🤣😂 Having multiple small capacitors in parallel lowers the impedance of the power rails and makes for larger surges of power, especially as the output impedance drops. Generates more power, and keeps the individual caps cooler, but if one goes short circuit it’s irrelevant anyways. Also depending of the required filtering and reservoir needs it may be cheaper to use many small caps vs much fewer huge caps.

Clip limiting wouldn’t affect the available power. A limiter on the input signal is a very aggressive compression circuit to prevent output clipping. Usually limiting refers to compression ratios of 10:1 or greater. Some manufacturers call this soft limit or whatever.
Im thinking about this amp on 4-4 Stack Audiopo 12"s in a ported box, that I built myself. This was an awesome video...I wonder what the quads were wired to and if wired at 1 ohm then big D wasnt taking any chances on popn his quads.
@wal can you compare the teampie tp4000.1 and deaf bonce aak4000.1d as I’m sure they are the same amp but are they using the same mosfets and transistors and other components Please do a comparison video both boards look alike both are s&i boards just maybe that are the same maybe they are made in 2 completely different manufacturers
Looking at Deaf Bonce’s site and where I could find them sold its interesting that they don’t list any amperage numbers, not even recommended fuse size for any of there amps. And I’m curious who makes their full bridge line and their build quality since this one looks like a tank, some of theirs look alot like Taramps and some look similar to Soundigital and there kinda priced in between.
Steve have you done a Dyno on the MEMPHIS AUDIO 16MJ-1.2200 ? IVE NEVER BEEN TOO BIG OF A FAN OF MEMPHIS BUT I SWAPPED THIS AMP IN TO REPLACE MY SALT4 WHICH SEEMS RO JUST BE LOSING POWER... BUT THIS MEMPHIS AMP UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE..... IT IS EEPS GOING AND GOING AND GOIN....
found this channel doing a google search for something somewhat unrelated; since this channel looks at older equipment ... if you see this could you explain what the Kenwood KAC-818 Class D mono subwoofer amp's 'Sigma Servo Feed Back' terminals/system claimed to do and if it actually did it. I have the amp still, 20+ years old and it still works great. Just curious what it did, if it was a gimmick, worth using the circuit or not, etc. Had it on a Radioshack 18" for a long time as a teenager :p
Ok kool I was just wondering what separates the difference of a D4S costing $150 less than maybe a Crossfire rated at the same power? And also how reliable are these amps today? What’s under the hood and does the dampening factor really matter? 😊
Love the content. Aren't these the same as the teampie amps rebranded or the same buildhouse? I've seen that with the full bridge stuff. Yeah boi!!!! I'm outta heeeeere!

just got a AAK-8K. was sad to see theres no dyno for one of these. should i send it to ya to test??
Big D can we get a dyno on the new deaf bonce atom series 9.5k or the 12.5k? Keep the vids rolling!
Would love to see the new amp dyno ASA 4000.1
Just got this amplifier, im here trying to find why i have no sound... literally just swapped it out no extra wiring..been working it for hours 😒
Im thinking about this amp on 4-4 Stack Audiopo 12"s in a ported box, that I built myself.
This was an awesome video...I wonder what the quads were wired to and if wired at 1 ohm then big D wasnt taking any chances on popn his quads.
Wish u can test out the aak 2000.5 d3af bounce beast of amp I have 3
@wal can you compare the teampie tp4000.1 and deaf bonce aak4000.1d as I’m sure they are the same amp but are they using the same mosfets and transistors and other components
Please do a comparison video both boards look alike both are s&i boards just maybe that are the same maybe they are made in 2 completely different manufacturers
$800 for the Amp. $1800(or more)for the electrical to run it. It's all part of the game. Gotta have power to make power.
Even though i have a taramps and american bass in my car, id put a boss audio sticker on my window just to veer off the thieves lol
Awesome
What about half ? Love your work by the way!
There's literally 20 amps in this price range that put out similar numbers.skar sk4500 comes to mind.korean board as well..
I have 1DB AAK-12000.1D it's a beast
When will the new asa line be done curious if they stand up to the aak
I love it nice nice
Can you do the AAK-6000 please❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can we get the a DD amp, preferably the M2000 or M4000?!
I'd love to see you test There aab2900 amp
Thanks for the suggestion
Does the bass knob have a adjustable for voltage because they don’t read correct
When are y ou posting the Surge Audio dyno test?
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday
If your taking requests.... What up with the Phoenix Gold 🌀🌀🌀 Cyclone?? Let's go!
I liked but is expensive vs Taramps
Hey can u do a dyno test on the yamaha a100a ? Please
Could you make a list of the Lowest thd bass amps your dynoed and your 4 channels
Hey big d can u Dyno that new 8k by slapz audio ... Would love to see if it really does the power it say . It's cheaper then most 8k amps
I wish BiG D would also test sound quality and compare all amps sound with each other
Sound Quality is subjective so you won’t hear me compare amps SQ unless it’s really good or really bad
Ok kool
I was just wondering what separates the difference of a D4S costing $150 less than maybe a Crossfire rated at the same power?
And also how reliable are these amps today?
What’s under the hood and does the dampening factor really matter? 😊
another excellent video man!
Love the content. Aren't these the same as the teampie amps rebranded or the same buildhouse? I've seen that with the full bridge stuff. Yeah boi!!!! I'm outta heeeeere!
The AAK models are half bridge Korean amps
Teampie makes more powa
@@chaliemacsauce5646 more power and cheaper
No… these are made by s&i . Teampie makes copies with inferior parts and shoddy craftmanship.
Let's gooooo
