In the past I would never keep an unworn item for more than 18 months. But now i look back at certain item from years ago and wish I had kept them. So now items I don't wear I put away. Sometimes I will enjoy wearing them in a few years time. Maybe I have just worn them too many times and I need a rest from them?

What flattering colours you are wearing today, dear Daria. Your hair colour and lipstick are particularly becoming. Also that very charming dark green top.

I did some minor mistake when I combated the endowment effect. I sold my clothes during my pregnancy because I felt that I never will fit into those things. I gained weight during pandemic, than pregnancy and decision to sell those items. Now I not only get back to my weight before pregnancy, but also before pandemic. I miss one pair of trousers so much... When I'm thinking about it now I need to combat this feeling.

I'm rigorous with what I don't wear - I sell it or donate it. I do have more problems with expensive items, however. The sunken cost fallacy... Also, I have reduced my color scheme down to 2 basics and 3 brights Colors plus 2 accent Colors - almost everything now goes with everything as I do not wear patterns.

You are so right about sunken costs. I like to think about it this way: the more I pay for something, the more I’m going to enjoy wearing it 😍

Thank you Daria. I do have some jeans that don’t fit that I definitely have an emotional attachment to. I will wash and send them to a scheme at the factory they came from. They have a scheme called Deja-blue where they sell them on. They are really good quality and the factory have a waiting list for their new jeans. The tunics I haven’t been wearing have gone to a resale scheme in the UK called Thrift+. They photograph them and sell them on. It has helped me to really clear out my wardrobe down to things I actually do wear

Formal wear is a dilemma for me. The evening top I wear sooo very rarely but the beading is just so beautiful. The graduation ball dress in deep coral red satin that I have never looked as good since, and probably never will again, nor am I likely to fit that dress again, but it’s the next best thing I have to a wedding gown. The little suede handbag I bought not use for sunny special occasions but my late Nanna gave it to me. I’m scared to store them in the loft but also need to think of a better way to protect (& hide) them in my bedroom.

Storing off season clothes out of sight can help bring back that “new” feeling. Maybe set a date for clothes and when you notice you didn’t wear them, sell them. As for a handbag that holds memories from your dear nanna, I would say keep it so you can eventually pass it on to a dear family member 🥰

Another great video Daria, thank you for explaining the endowment effect!
I have a denim midi skirt that I never wear but I can’t part with it. That is because it’s the first garment that I have ever handsewn myself, from scratch. It took me ages to make it and I still feel like a beginner in sewing.
I don’t really like the way the skirt falls on me. I think it’s the fabric or the length. Any suggestions?

Here’s an idea: frame it! It’s an achievement for you and you should treasure it. If you don’t have the space have a close friend, loved family member wear it, take a cool photo and frame that. Either way, you will have the memory and can move on! 🤩

    Thank you, Daria.
I have worked quite hard on different topics. Some things I have given away, some things I am able to wear again because I lost a bit of weight. I still have some pieces that are a bit tight but I will wait a little more.
There is an interesting aspect to what you are suggesting- becoming more true to myself through organizing my closet made me loose weight…..
There is still one thing I did not find a solution yet: I would have nice outfits but the occasion to „show them off“ does not arise.
I assume, that if I am able to put outfits together I also should be able to „create“ a suitable occasion- ANY SUGGESTION FOR THAT?
How do I handle slightly overdressing?
Then one piece is a challenge: a maxi-dress I hardly can style - any advice on that?

What should I do that I have a clothes not so perfect - I mean color are fine but not for sharp body proportions? To declutter or wait to buy a new one? The another issue I'm your a WoW student and I don't see new posts in Slack...
