This Astray No Name kit is just so disappointing , where's the beam saber on the left hand ? , they change its color to brown wine ? , the backpack is so rubbish , and finally the articulation of this kit. I hope Bandai spend more time to make this gundam , what about turn this kit into an RG grade ?
The HG Astray from 2013 honestly doesn’t need a revive. It’s still up to par to modern kits even to this day. But wow, articulation on the No Name is just disappointing(It doesn't really bother me since I never put my models in super crazy action poses). Gonna get it anyways.
90 is perfectly serviceable. How often do you pose your kits with the arm bent 180 with hands against the shoulder? Definitely less than 10% (being generous). I got over 50 kits on display, and none pose like that because either: 1. The arm is mostly straight/slightly bent for the standing there and looking cool pose 2. Outstretched as most cool action poses requires. If the MS is reliant on 2 handed weapon poses then I find the most critical aspects are whether the shoulder can move out enough to support such a pose, and wrist articulation/angle
I agree that the Astray needed a revive before this came along. I could argue they should have done that for the Alex as well so they had a better base for the Tristan. Can you imagine a perfect world where that happened? I can, and I want it.
Jetfire48 Nah, the only time he wasn't honest was, when he shilled for Playmates free Voltron, besides that he's good. Any toy reviewer that's always positive is a bloody shill.
Jetfire48 I didn't like his review of the RG Shinanju. He was not handling the kit properly and it looked like he built it hastily. I myself don't really like the Shinanju (though I don't dislike it either) but I really didn't like how Mecha did that review. I have noticed thought that he's improving now
I've always thought that Tsukasa would've worked better as the final boss of Divers, not the mid-boss. And this kit being a rushjob only strengthens my opinion since it would've also given them more time to work out the kit's kinks. :(
The kit itself is so disappointing, when considering the mass potential it had. I cant even begin to describe how hypes I was for a new, amazing looking astray kit... But then the toss out this? Im not a build divers fan by any means, but this was one of the few kits from the show I was actually hyped to see translate into plastic. Bandai to the "rescue" I suppose.
I onestly plan to get this and I think after being given enough love and care (plastic surgery) he will be a mean addition to my collection, but from a straigth build perspective yeah he sucks
saverio sassetti don't worry, I kind of intend to get this anyway. I have more than enough paint to get the right parts black, I'm just hesitant bc of the bad articulation
Zach Tinnes for that yo just need to slightly mod armor and joints. Look wich parts stop the movement and just trim a bit with a file. I did this to my rg quanta's head, and now it has decent upward movement
its only the looks that i needed and honestly i love the gundam astray no name very much (excluding the color and articulation (which it doesn't bother me at all)).is one of the top 20 of my favourite gundam.
The thing is the original kit this was based on was a Revive before the Revive line existed. It was a brand new mold and was essentially a perfect HG kit of the Astray with a lot of detail, amazing poseability, and an insane amount of accessories. It's only falling grace was the stickers, and that's partially due to the insane colors of the Astray that can't be replicated in HG form. This kit was just a letdown and did not do that original mold justice, it's a waste of potential.
I wonder if the armour design will be improved if they decide to release the Lord Astray (a new-ish? mobile suit from princess of the sky, there's like only 1 photo of it)
this guy had so much potential, if only they made him the correct color scheme, if only they made it with better articulation, if only they made the no-name unit with a proper transformation into its rifle mode and actually gave it its claw mode, if only they provided its second beam saber, if only they gave it its buster blade, if only...
This is my first gundam and after a few days I've finished building it. I feel like it's very flimsy like some parts will fall off if I mess with it even a little. The Cape especially it'll just fall off its arm if i try to move it's arm. I haven't tried it's other modes but once I get a stand I'll try to make the big gun thing. (Sorry I've never watched gundam b4). Maybe I'm doing something wrong but still it looks very cool imo. Very very fun aswell.
Yeah I really don't like it a first, but it's coolness in the anime got me hooked and bought it. It's not a total waste since the gimmicks of the no name unit is not actually transforming, but just changing of formation. And the beam saber, I somehow managed to recreate it by modding the small fin-like part on the back.
You, out of my head! Seriously you addressed every point I had questioned about the kit and as someone who was looking to create a No Name full cloth and a Lord Astray from two kits I'm now fully disappointed in the non-ability to change the parts left to right on the kit. Would you think it possible to create two symmetrical kits with modification or are they just too different? I guess I'll just wait for Bandai to finally release the Lord kit... Hopefully! Great video btw!
Funny thing is i just started building gunpla yesterday and this was my very first build. I love this friggin thing. only thing im mad at is it didnt come with a base so i stole the one from my second current build 00 sky higher phase sky 🤣 i love these maroon burgundy colors on mine.
The first thought I had was why was this kit white instead of the beautiful grey they used in the show... But overall, if they took a bit more time to release this kit I think it would've turned out way better
People are complaining about the the no name unit colours when you can just get a goddamn black spray and spray it,But i do agree about the shit articulation when the asrays line are god tier in articulation aspect.Let's just hope for an MG or an RG in the future..Like the RG Unicorn and the normal MG or HG
I still want it. Needs a ton of work for sure, but most of my kits live on the shelf anyway since I too scared to chip any paint after all the work I put in.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone in the gunpla community myself included feel these parts should’ve been molded in black. Bad articulation or not I’d like to get this kit!
I preordered mine from hlj when it got announced and now I'm on a backorder list, I'm not really mad since I already have a pretty large backlog and have the RG Sazabi on the way but the last time this happened with the RG tallgeese the notified me to apologize and say that the preorders surpassed their projected stock and all of that but now nothing.
Chaos black is the bane of my existence. I need it in vast quantities but can't buy it anywhere and no one will ship it to me because I live in the middle of nowhere. Even games workshop adds ridiculous shipping to here that makes it end up over 30 euro a can :/
This kit reminds me of *Zero* from *Mega Man Zero* . With the cloak, head design, and all. I forgot to mention that awesome & unique green beam saber part
I wonder if the No Name is going to return later in the show with a few new parts and Bandai will release a model with not only those new parts but also with the correct colors that this kit should have had in the first place? Y'know, the exact same annoying way they handled the two Rozen Zulu HGs.
if they add a master grade who knows it could be a very good master grade AND IT WILL LOOK SICC if it had the transforming cape to a gauntlet a weapon and so many more
I was so hyped for this when it came out. As a huge fan of asymmetric mobile suits, this was a sure buy for me... and then someone in Bandai fucked up and I can clearly tell this is a pass.
well i think the sei lori strike gundam was actually pretty good the 1/144 the parts didnt mostly fall i think on my opinion its the best build fighters gundam kit
This kit clearly will surely get a origin spin-off manga similar to Build Fighter's Gundam Denial w/c was a modded stolen kit based from Cathedral gundam or other Gundam mechaverse that has spin-off versions then as usual the original astray no-name full armor form (if possibly exist) will be a P-Bandai release . . . . :D
I had a major problem with the right head horn-it kept getting in the way of the gun and would fall out constantly. Was able to fix the color issue by spray painting the brown bits black before assembly.
The 2013 Astrays don't need Revives. They have good articulation and decent color seperation on the bodies (the accessories are pretty sticker heavy, but that's somewhat to be expected of a High Grade), and besides, you said yourself that most of the problems come from the new part, so the No-Name's failings have nothing to do with the base kit. Anyways, I'd rather Bandai not waste resources updating a 5 year old kit that's still pretty decent when there are kits like the GP01 and the Alex which are 18 and 14 years old respectively and could use updates way more.
I saw it was 999 likes and put it over the top!
This Astray No Name kit is just so disappointing , where's the beam saber on the left hand ? , they change its color to brown wine ? , the backpack is so rubbish , and finally the articulation of this kit. I hope Bandai spend more time to make this gundam , what about turn this kit into an RG grade ?
for the beam saber,i am thinking about taking the lance from the fenice and painting it green.
The HG Astray from 2013 honestly doesn’t need a revive. It’s still up to par to modern kits even to this day. But wow, articulation on the No Name is just disappointing(It doesn't really bother me since I never put my models in super crazy action poses). Gonna get it anyways.
Zetagundamastley1219 yup. I can accept the leg. Which to me is quite good. But the arm.. What year is this...
90 is perfectly serviceable. How often do you pose your kits with the arm bent 180 with hands against the shoulder? Definitely less than 10% (being generous). I got over 50 kits on display, and none pose like that because either:
1. The arm is mostly straight/slightly bent for the standing there and looking cool pose
2. Outstretched as most cool action poses requires. If the MS is reliant on 2 handed weapon poses then I find the most critical aspects are whether the shoulder can move out enough to support such a pose, and wrist articulation/angle
xSkye629x, now that you mentioned it... point taken
xSkye629x 90 is sufficient for posing. But this kit doesnt even look like it can bend it arms 90°
Zetagundamastley1219 the only one they should have revived was the green frame
I think it would be cool if it was a master grade hoping Because I love this design
Agree with you since Bandai love to milk Astray kits
"It's all looks and no substance" hmm. I remember so many people
4:19 thank you so much for that camera trick. I really wanted to see what it would look like lol
Absolutely criminal we didn’t get an MG. Sickest Astray design ever
I agree that the Astray needed a revive before this came along. I could argue they should have done that for the Alex as well so they had a better base for the Tristan. Can you imagine a perfect world where that happened? I can, and I want it.
Just visited japan and went to the diver city mall with unicorn gundam and bought like 10 gunplas love your informative vids
I can always count on Mecha for the honest opinion
Eh not always though. He's misbuilt kits (galbady rebake), been too harsh overall (Cherdium saga), and screwed various other things too....
I have noticed thought that he's improving now
DeLEET Titan But it wasn't just Mecha; until RG Unicorn, all RG were fragile pile of sucknesss.
I guess to be fair
4:17 - 4:20 that symmetrical form looks amazing but the asymmetrical version is still pretty good too
I've always thought that Tsukasa would've worked better as the final boss of Divers, not the mid-boss. And this kit being a rushjob only strengthens my opinion since it would've also given them more time to work out the kit's kinks. :(
Astray No Name: Who are you?
Lord Astray Double Rebake: I'm you, but better
The kit itself is so disappointing, when considering the mass potential it had. I cant even begin to describe how hypes I was for a new, amazing looking astray kit... But then the toss out this? Im not a build divers fan by any means, but this was one of the few kits from the show I was actually hyped to see translate into plastic. Bandai to the "rescue" I suppose.
Thanks for the highlight! Glad I'm not the only one disappointed in this :P
Im only dissapointed of the colors
I onestly plan to get this and I think after being given enough love and care (plastic surgery) he will be a mean addition to my collection, but from a straigth build perspective yeah he sucks
saverio sassetti don't worry, I kind of intend to get this anyway. I have more than enough paint to get the right parts black, I'm just hesitant bc of the bad articulation

its only the looks that i needed and honestly i love the gundam astray no name very much (excluding the color and articulation (which it doesn't bother me at all)).is one of the top 20 of my favourite gundam.
Finally someone mentioned the giant hand with the cloak and where's the second beam weapon it carried. Some modding needed to make it better
The thing is the original kit this was based on was a Revive before the Revive line existed. It was a brand new mold and was essentially a perfect HG kit of the Astray with a lot of detail, amazing poseability, and an insane amount of accessories. This kit was just a letdown and did not do that original mold justice, it's a waste of potential.
That's it, we really need more Revive kits, dibs on the Justice Gundam.
Same one for justice and infinite justice
Preordered it when it was a different color. Guess I’ll just customize it anyway!! Awesome design. Worth the pre-order for that alone 😎
*Mecha gaikotsu sees less than 90 degree articulation *
T R I G G. E R D
I wonder if the armour design will be improved if they decide to release the Lord Astray (a new-ish? mobile suit from princess of the sky, there's like only 1 photo of it)
I gotta admit you had us in the first half at the articulation
Thank you for answering the left and right question, nice
this guy had so much potential, if only they made him the correct color scheme, if only they made it with better articulation, if only they made the no-name unit with a proper transformation into its rifle mode and actually gave it its claw mode, if only they provided its second beam saber, if only they gave it its buster blade, if only...
"I like asymmetrical suits"
My OCD just screamed HERESY
there should be a master grade version for this kit, ya know?
Agreed; I’m trying to mod an old red frame kai into the no-name but it’s really rough
Here hoping the MG Astray No Name will be amazing kit to build.
@@shauqiharris2772 here here!
This was the first kit I painted. Had to get rid of that maroon. Its one of the few kits that looks good just standing lol
Well...I guess I'll just hope we see an upgraded version of the suit in the show that symmetrical...or maybe I'll hope we get an hg Lord astray
there was the symmetrical fenice rinascita in build fighters, so i hope for the same, with the no name.
Same. Wonder what it would be called then?
99JDT Astray Yes-Name
Astray Got-Name
I think this is the best design of any Gundam Build Fighters series
I want a symmetrical version of this of both sides, *BUT* mostly the one with the white armor because, dude, it *IS*
*T* *H* *I* *C* *C*
Honestly, I think the dark reddish cape looks pretty good. It reminds me of coagulated blood...
Im actually building astray red fram and HOLY CRAP those stickers are a PAIN!!
This kit would look amazing bashed with two No name weapon sets on both shoulders. Like an Astray Full Cloth.
This is my favorite Gundam from the series period. Hurts that it gets such a low tier rating.
I just finished building mine yesterday and absolutely loved it, it is just so freaking cool.
The more sad is the beautiful beam saber in his back pack that they have don't detail for been take in his hand.
So sad for this beautiful guy.
This kit looks so badass but wow it needs some real help. It does do justice in the looks department.
We need more 1/100 master grades and the no name needs to be one of them and any from any of the build series will do as well
This, Reginlaze Julia, and Vidar/Kimaris Vidar are my top kits to hopefully get a master grade. They are dying for it
Man did you just mirrored one side of the build because damn it looks gooooooood with both symmetrical sides
I'm gonna get this for customization practice. I can easily paint the rifle, and the terrible articulation seems like a good challenge
Plus, no beam saber for the left arm, and that was the first weapon this Astray used in its only battle!
Damn and this guy looks so promising too.. Oh well, just hope they make a Gundam Snow White someday
You, out of my head! Seriously you addressed every point I had questioned about the kit and as someone who was looking to create a No Name full cloth and a Lord Astray from two kits I'm now fully disappointed in the non-ability to change the parts left to right on the kit.

Anyone thinks he looks a little like a robo-cowboy with the poncho and the hat? The Gundam With No Name.
4:20 damn that looks sick!!!
Next version, I want this model to be symmetrical and MG 1/100 scale. That would be awesome.
Gonna repaint no name unit into black right now.
The kit still looks cool though!!! That alone is enough for me to buy one!!!👍👍👍
judging by the looks and the new parts in Gundam Astray No Name, I have a feeling that Bandai's tryin to release the model kit for lord astray
I wish there was an MG version
I hope they make the MG version with the overall improve in colour, articulation and design
And a mirrored armor, since we all know we like some symmetry in our kits, sometimes.
I believe gundam builders have the best top model kits and design then all the gundam Franchises .
Coming back to this after a while, this could be treated as a limited edition kit despite being a possible defect. Most No-Names nowadays are black.
The first thought I had was why was this kit white instead of the beautiful grey they used in the show... But overall, if they took a bit more time to release this kit I think it would've turned out way better
Good thing I wasn't able to pre-order this kit.
I literally just subscribed right before you uploaded this
With two kits you could build a dark magenta astray with the original 2013 arms.
can't wait for the MG 1/100 version.
actually, this kit is based on Gundam Lord Astray. feel pity for the left arm 😣
Good review man! Keep up the good work
People are complaining about the the no name unit colours when you can just get a goddamn black spray and spray it,But i do agree about the shit articulation when the asrays line are god tier in articulation aspect.Let's just hope for an MG or an RG in the future..Like the RG Unicorn and the normal MG or HG
I know its 2 years late but I saw a astray no name weapon that sold separately
4:22 looks sick
I still want it. Needs a ton of work for sure, but most of my kits live on the shelf anyway since I too scared to chip any paint after all the work I put in.
Looks dope. It reminds me a little bit of Zeratul from Starcraft.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone in the gunpla community myself included feel these parts should’ve been molded in black. Bad articulation or not I’d like to get this kit!
If you didn’t know the maroon colour is a error during manufacturing
I preordered mine from hlj when it got announced and now I'm on a backorder list, I'm not really mad since I already have a pretty large backlog and have the RG Sazabi on the way but the last time this happened with the RG tallgeese the notified me to apologize and say that the preorders surpassed their projected stock and all of that but now nothing.
Chaos black citadel spray works wonders
Chaos black is the bane of my existence. I need it in vast quantities but can't buy it anywhere and no one will ship it to me because I live in the middle of nowhere. Even games workshop adds ridiculous shipping to here that makes it end up over 30 euro a can :/
This kit really needs to be MG one day, would make a great display.
I really want a MG version of this guy
Dang HGs have come a long way especially in the sculpting department.
The design is only for aesthetics. It's up for us builders to make it better.
Whelp, Time to get No-Name for parts
Just like in the Gundam Throne Eins. I thought it was Black but the color is like a Dark Brown
Damn mecha..I waited for 5 day but the review as always my favourite
2021 and still no MG Astray No Name.
3:51 that wasn't even 90 degrees. wtf Bandai?
This kit reminds me of *Zero* from *Mega Man Zero* . With the cloak, head design, and all.
I forgot to mention that awesome & unique green beam saber part
They must include the beam saber cuz he have it and he should include the giant sword that he throw at the diver ace and the giant claw mode
That thing looks dope as fuck, I can't wait to get mine
the white parts should also have been gray
I wonder if the No Name is going to return later in the show with a few new parts and Bandai will release a model with not only those new parts but also with the correct colors that this kit should have had in the first place? Y'know, the exact same annoying way they handled the two Rozen Zulu HGs.
Just gotta wait for the new IBO.
if they add a master grade who knows it could be a very good master grade AND IT WILL LOOK SICC if it had the transforming cape to a gauntlet a weapon and so many more

well i think the sei lori strike gundam was actually pretty good the 1/144 the parts didnt mostly fall i think on my opinion its the best build fighters gundam kit
They also did the same color change from art to kit with the Ninpulse and goodness they need to update the HG astray Frame,...
This typically helps me allot. thanks so i will buy this kit cause I don't mind the rumors from this gunpla .. hehe
I'm probably gonna buy it anyway and just keep it in a couple poses.
This kit clearly will surely get a origin spin-off manga similar to Build Fighter's Gundam Denial w/c was a modded stolen kit based from Cathedral gundam or other Gundam mechaverse that has spin-off versions then as usual the original astray no-name full armor form (if possibly exist) will be a P-Bandai release . . . . :D
Pity about this one. Given how popular it is, I hope they do an improved version in a higher quality mode.
That maroon would have looked 100 times better on the sengoku astray instead of that bright red
Im gonna bet that the grabby hand will be a seprate set
Makes me wonder if Bandai ever listens to it's fan base!
ignore the piss yellow stickers; can't unsee it now
I had a major problem with the right head horn-it kept getting in the way of the gun and would fall out constantly.
Was able to fix the color issue by spray painting the brown bits black before assembly.
The 2013 Astrays don't need Revives.
