- Officer Kyle Kampf of the West Long Branch Police Department received a call on January 7, 2023, around midnight. Officer Carlos Gonzalez of the Roselle Police Department, who was off-duty, reported that a 2012 Volkswagen had hit a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway and continued driving. He followed the car and instructed the driver, Lexie Laurino, 21, to stop at Cedar Avenue and Norwood Avenue in West Long Branch. Officer Christopher Remedios of the Long Branch Police Department arrived and briefed Officer Kampf. Officer Kampf initiated the investigation and interviewed Lexie, who denied hitting anything. Officer Kampf noticed damage on the front passenger side of her car, corroborating Officer Gonzalez’s account. He smelled alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests. Lexie failed the Walk and Turn test, the One Leg Stand test, and the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. Officer Kampf arrested Lexie for driving under the influence based on the witness statement and the field sobriety tests. Lexie’s car was impounded for 12 hours under John’s Law, and she was taken to the West Long Branch Police Department for further testing. At the police station, Lexie consented to breath samples, and Sergeant Brian Burton administered the Alcotest machine. The results indicated a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.158%, nearly double the legal limit. After processing, Lexie’s father signed the Potential Liability Warning form for her. Officer Kampf issued Lexie summonses for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and traffic on marked lanes. The incident demonstrated the dangers of driving under the influence and the procedures followed by the police in such cases.

Even after getting arrested and told she was arrested for DUI, she tells daddy she wasn't arrested, then technically she guessed she was. The lack of accountability drives me crazy but I'll give her credit for not being a brat.
I don't believe this is lack of accountability but more of so drunk she forgets what happened 5 seconds before
@Pradatoru the lack of accountability is when talking to her dad... she knew what she was saying, you could tell she was trying to avoid eye contact with the officer so she could keep lying.
To me the lying to a parent is exactly what a brat does.
@leese.sd23 I agree...I just think accountability goes with everything we do in life. If we leave late for work, we speed to get there on time risking others safety, we get angry at other drivers for not getting out of the way because they should know you're running late, etc... every action can snowball out of control without being responsible for what we say and do at all times. That's with everyone, not just brats like this one.

Respectful kid and Respectful, reasonable, and responsible father. Wow! I'm impressed because we don't often see that in the intoxicated person OR the person that picks them up. It's obvious the daughter didn't want to tell dad about hitting the guardrail but I'm willing to cut her slack on that because whether she denied it all day long to dad or not, dad's got the damage to the car as evidence, the accident report she received a ticket for and on this case, dad was told about the off duty officer that witnessed the crash, followed her car and reported it after blocking her car with his personal car. He doesn't seem like the type of person that will let her get away with denying all that and making up a story about her car must have been hit in parking lot and she didn't see it because it was hit on the passenger side. Just sayin: that sounds like the kind of story she might have made up to stay out of trouble with dad about all the car damage....lol.
well at least the young lady was polite and cooperative,her parents raised her right,but she made a mistake that shell learn as she experiences the aftermath of her actions,she dont look like shell do that again,but one never knows
