Your videos are getting better by the day, as I see you progress yourself within the art. I just cant keep up, since Judo unfortunately is in my past at 50 with a minor back injury. But it is very interesting all the same. Keep up the good work, Chadi!
You have so much good info. Eventually, Ill get mt tv to work and cast this to it. Watching on a phone is more like just listening and seeing a little bit. But you always had good information.
My sensai has a very similar movement for osoto. Another important little detail that made a difference for me that he banged on about for years but only recently clicked and I see Ono using is a big circular motion with the lapel hand, pulling down and then circling back past Ukis chin to control the head and rotate the shoulders.
That's a great technical detail for Osoto-Otoshi.
Nice to see osoto gari used in this manner
Ono's osoto gari is in fact an osoto otoshi the cinematic chain is much shorter and so it is faster. My son is using this throw in bjj with great success.
Just was watching Fluid Judo Japan's osotogari fundamentals and I saw videos you collaborated with him. Why don't we see more of him on your channel?
I can do alot of throws in sparring Judo and wrestling but osoto gari is the hardest to do for some reason. I also think alot of opponents see it coming easily and just step or turn back/aside/forward
question what do u think about the practicality of martial arts like ssiruem tht uses the belt as a integral part of their system.
i always love people who say something is outdated. It could be true, or it could be that you and your teachers just never understood it. Mizune wasn't doing modern judo, he understood things from the classical schools, passed down to him from Kano and his own studies. They were not about speed or primary mover strength. They were about structure, flow, and strength near the joints.
I like it, looks devastating
its always a part of uchi komi but never seen in randori.
you need to get lochlan moorhead interviewed.
that's iriminage ;)
