This is such a powerful technique that it even works with top grip and the grip inside the collar, same side as the sleeve grip. Although you have to have a straighter elbow stiffer arm position, it's more dangerous to counter attacks but perfect for setting up for a cross collar choke from knee on belly or mount as it hits the floor. Yes, always punch through!
Once the support structure of the body is broken and the center of mass of uke is displaced backwards, it seems that the most efficient thing is to apply the mass of tori in the same direction, therefore it seems logical to do it directly downwards. In this case circular movement requires more energy. In Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido it is said that the arm movements are always up/down, what looks circular or diagonal is because the body is also moving. I try to apply these principles in judo.
Watching this film and watching Olympic Judo today makes me sad as to how far classic, beautiful, technical judo has degenerated into what looks like a fight in front of my high school!!
@@m5a1stuart83 Yes, and since that happened we need a name for pre-2010 Judo that's catchier than "Judo before IJF banning the leg grab" or "pre-2010 Judo"
I learned this on my own it was just something that I adapted into my style but I have also mentioned that I always have a wrist or a leg technique involved in the throw and it's just it worked into a natural style . I had been in many different styles from the mid-1970s and I found Japanese Jiu-Jitsu in 1991 . And I knew that this was my home.
Nice video as always, but I think that the technique, if performed with those particularities, is more similar to O Soto Otoshi, I'm curious what you think about it.
I love that Kimura really studied his technique.
Great video, thank you sir.
Beautiful explanation of a beautiful technique
For me, the hardest aspect fo Osoto Gari is bridging the distance between you and your opponent.
Thank you Chadi for the video👍
Open things up with a Ouchi Gari.
Thank you Chadi.
Chadi, you’re the MAN!

Very interesting variation of kazushi, and the reaping, loved the combinations and various grips demonstrated

I tuoi contenuti sono molto interessanti

Osotogari is correct because he is still reaping/cutting the leg, so it is a kari, not an otoshi.
Faster line of attack to finish throw with more power gone try this for my osta gari
you should do a podcast
“Leg technique” just means that the fulcrum or pivoting point of the throw is at Tori’s leg. Kimora’s throw is still 100% a leg technique.
Thank you for this. I tried it on my geriatic patient and he did not stand a chance
dont worry, Judo wont work in BJJ since in BJJ, a fight start on the ground
Удар вниз используется во многих бросках для достижения жёсткого падения противника.
Can you cover Max Schneider? He’s a great judoka
❤❤❤❤❤
He was a legend
Please do a video about similarities and difference between bjj about judo.
O-Soto-Otoshi
It is a strike with the chest
He said Helio wouldnt last 3 minutes... it was 13... Anyways, Kimura was impressive.
